From Khaleej Times:
Hamas indicates Israel not to blame for Gaza blast
GAZA CITY – Hamas implicitly admitted on Friday that a massive house blast that killed seven of its fighters and a four-month-old baby in the Gaza Strip was not caused by Israeli forces.
“Members of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades were trying to prepare for a Jihad operation,” the Islamist movement’s armed wing said in a statement.
It said six members of the brigades were killed in the blast in Beit Lahya. A local leader of the Hamas armed wing died of his wounds on Friday, one day after his four-month-old baby died in the explosion, a doctor at Shiffa hospital in Gaza City said.
There have been several cases in the past when militants accidentally set off deadly blasts while assembling makeshift explosive devices.
About 50 people were wounded, among them 15 children, in Thursday’s explosion, according to the head of emergency services in Gaza, Muawiya Hassanin.
The blast destroyed a house and damaged about 10 neighbouring homes, witnesses said.
Hamas initially blamed Israeli armed forces, and militants fired dozens of rockets and mortar rounds at Israel in the hours following the explosion.
[Scott: Wonder how many other times Hamas uses cases of its own ineptness exploding its own people as 'justification' for attacking Israel?]
Israeli forces responded by targeting militants, with medics saying three Hamas fighters were killed in an air raid. Three more militants were killed by Israeli forces earlier Thursday.

Hamas, the champion of all oppressed Palestinians, fortunately saved the 4-month old infant from future potential Israeli atrocities of unspeakable horror… Such as perhaps flechettes that ignite car interiors only after the photographers have arrived, or giant radioactive-breath powered bulldozers, or even morally-destructive IDF sex-goddess agents of death.
Hamas loves the innocent children of Palestine even more than this proud mother does!
But with the tragic death of the baby (which is once again due to the imperialism of the inhuman Israelis – Hamas wouldn’t have to build suicide nail-bomb vests if the Jews would just jump into the sea themselves!), the Palestinian freedom saints sadly have one less set of body armour to use in protecting themselves from the illegal Israeli targeting of armed militants.
Or maybe just one less helmet. Since, y’know, babies are really small.
Ahem, anyway…
WE CONDEMN ISRAEL FOR INTENTIONALLY TARGETING AND KILLING CIVILIANS INCLUDING CHILDREN IN NON-COMBAT ZONES AND ILLEGALLY DEMOLISHING PALESTINIAN HOMES!!!!

The baby is now with a `martyr` with 72 raisins, or is it virgins.

Hmmm the baby was the Head of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.
Its death will be avenged.

From St. Pancake Rachel`s journals:
..what is most curious about Corrie’s Journals is that hard as she tried to impose the ISM narrative on what she saw, her reports constantly contradicted this narrative, though she didn’t recognize the contradictions.
She wrote that decades of occupation had oppressed Palestinians, yet Gazans kept saying that their difficult situation was due to the Intifada and to Israel’s subsequent counterterrorism measures, not to a decades-old occupation. One Gazan said, “There was a peaceful time in the late seventies and early eighties…things were better before Sharon”—that is, before Sharon became Prime Minister in 2001. (253) Another told her: “Before—no tanks, no bulldozers, no gunshots. Quiet….No noise. After Intifada, daily. Gunshots daily.”
She even confirmed that conditions in Gaza worsened only with the Intifada. She wrote that 60,000 people from Rafah had worked in Israel in 2001, but that the number had dropped to 600 by 2003. But she never drew the logical conclusion that her Gazan informants kept repeating—the terrorist campaign had forced Israel to take defensive measures.
Similarly, Corrie demonized the Israeli soldiers, but they hardly appear demonic. When she and other internationals stand in front of the tanks, the soldiers “open their weird tank lids and wave at us.” The Israeli district command officer worked to “ensure the safety of Palestinian workers.”
