Via Moonbattery, from Yahoo news:
Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama told an audience Tuesday that GOP presidential nominee John McCain says he’ll change Washington, but he’s just like President Bush.
“You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin’s joke even if it’s not what Obama meant. “It’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.”
McCain’s campaign called the comments “offensive and disgraceful” and said Obama owes Palin an apology.
wits0 provides the video:
Video also at Hot Air.
Another video via Perfunction comparing Palin’s and Obama’s remarks:
Obama could have gift wrapped that pig. He could have dressed that pig up in a tuxedo. He could even have rescued that pig from a Vietcong POW camp.
But nooooo…. It just had to be the lipstick.
Wassamatter, teleprompter go on the fritz again?
The genius then tries to cover his sorry butt by invoking, of all possible absurd and gaffe-tastic strategies, Hillary Clinton:
Obama’s campaign said he wasn’t referring to Palin and said the GOP camp was engaging in a “pathetic attempt to play the gender card.” Obama’s camp also noted that McCain once used the same phrase to describe Hillary Rodham Clinton’s health care plan.
Obama followed up by saying Palin is an interesting story, drawing boos at the mention of her name that he tried to cut off.
i.e. It’s okay to call Palin a pig in lipstick, just as it is okay to call Hillary a pig in lipstick.
Uh-huh… Yeah. This is sure gonna help him with those 18 million already-miffed Hillary supporters. Past Obama possibly-sexist remarks directed at Hillary at Hot Air.
Michelle Malkin is only the first rightfully offended female who’s going to rip BHO a new ratings hole for this.
Oh, and O-bomb-ma… If you’re complaining that every remark that comes out of your mouth can be construed as prejudiced, just because Palin is female… Welcome to the hyper-sensitive world of political correctness you helped build.
UPDATE 11 Sept 2008: Obama makes it worse by explaining that actually McCain is the pig, Palin is the lipstick!
UPDATE 11 Sept 2008: Even worser, it seems that Obama stole his text from an editorial cartoon!

Call Obama a munkee and see what happens as the liberals get seizures heehee

The tone of the fakir’s voice when he said those words might have been more expected from any smoky cellar bar when he inplies that :
Palin = Pig
McCain = Old Fish
Anyway I always find his voice unpleasant and unimpressive as is his message.

No Edi神 , the bum is not cool as much as he’s always kinda raucous in tone, holding the mike tight like an ice cream stick, strutting to and fro like a spindly “kera kena cabai”.

Obama’s “Lipstick On A Pig” Smear
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 7:00 PM Either Obama’s dim as can be, or he is angry at having been thrown backwards week after week. When Obama denies having targeted Palin, keep in mind that everyone instantly made the connection. Is Obama really that clueless? An angry outburst does less damage than his pleading he didn’t mean it that way. Remember the raised finger?
Keep in mind as well that Obama has been telling us his genius at running his campaign is evidence of his fitness to be president. Some genius. We are watching a crack-up under pressure. His Chicago handlers might be able to put the wheels back on, but we now have a glimpse of “glass jaw” Obama in a crisis.
UPDATE: Callers and e-mailers are furious with Obama. Beyond furious, really. MSM is ignoring this tsunami of a story thus far, but it has traveled around the globe and back and will keep traveling. Millions of women will never forget and they won’t forgive.

A person’s real character comes out when he is desparate…
September 10, 08 at 8:40 pm
Oops! Of course, I meant “desperate.” Really, really desperate.
September 11, 08 at 12:30 am
Geez, did you read the comments after his youtube blurb. He’s toast.
September 11, 08 at 9:40 am
the only people who believe b hussein obama didn’t have inference to Sarah Palin with his “lipstick” comment, are the ones stupid enough to vote for him.
September 11, 08 at 10:32 am
Seriously? Is the pot calling the kettle black?… By the way that’s an idiom not a reference to skin color. Get educated, both McCain & Obama used the saying to talk about politics!! As for the pitbull comment, that was just stupid.
September 11, 08 at 10:48 am
I love the pitbull comment, got the poll ratings shooting up eh what?
September 11, 08 at 10:51 am
Obama son-of-Hussein`s muslim heritage in referring to pigs is not surprising. After all Allah turned christians into pigs according to their prophet.
September 11, 08 at 10:54 am
It got a really big cheer from the crowd.
It’s the self-depreciation rule: Sarah Palin can say that hockey moms are pit bulls with lipstick, because she is a hockey mom herself.
Similar to how only Blacks can refer to themselves as the N-word.

The Dem Messiah on logic – McCain is the Pig:
“Just calling [ideas] change, calling them different doesn’t make it better, hence lipstick on a pig,” Obama said.
He then clarified his statements even more.
“Keep in mind, technically, had I meant it this way, [Palin] would be the lipstick. The failed policies of John McCain would be the pig, just following the logic of this illogical situation,” Obama said.

Wow. Ignorance runs rampant on this website. The arguments you present are incomplete and completely off the mark. Time to seek more intellectual outlets for political discussion.

May I suggest Daily Kos or Democratic Underground, those well known bastions of objective, neutral, factually-based, respectful and reasonable thought.
Daily Kos tries to cancel P.D.S. alert
Democratic Underground’s Palin nickname contest – “KILLER PYSCHO FUNDIE B***H FROM HELL!!!”

Thanks for the recommendations, but no thanks. Not really interested in unreasonable smear campaigns from the left either!
September 11, 08 at 5:24 pm
The Mess-sire is snooty, an empty suit, and that’s not a smear but a legitimate perception not that difficult to arrive at.
September 11, 08 at 5:26 pm
Your words have struck a chord with me. Accusing Obama of intentional sexism does amount to a smear. If I have been giving that impression, I apologize.
However, I do not actually accuse Obama of sexism in my posting. I did in a later one, but I shall modify it now.
