So, the Malaysian Parliament will be convening a special session to discuss the situation in Gaza where Israel is kicking Hamas butt (i.e. spend a few hours seeing who can bash Israel more vociferously to score political points with the local Muslim populace).
As if there weren’t more important and pressing local matters to discuss, such as the blockheaded annoyance known as the CIQ in Johor.
Well, let me say it out clearly:
Malaysian who are soooooo concerned over the Gaza issue are shallow hypocrites.
Yes, you heard me right. I dare say that anyone around here only cares about Gaza and the Palestinian issue in general because:
A) The Gazans are Muslims and therefore ‘brothers’ to all Muslims in Malaysia, and
B) The Israelis are Jews and therefore evil world-dominating Zionist puppet masters, Jews also being the world’s worst race/scum according to plenty of interpretations of Islam.
If I’m wrong to say this, then why doesn’t anyone give a damn about Tibet?
Tibet is similarly under ‘occupation’ by the PRC which lays ‘historical claim’ to it, based on the fact that it used to rule the Tibet area centuries ago – exactly the same argument that can be said of Israel (which apart from that sort of claim, was established by United Nations decree with more than 2/3 vote).
PRC troops are accused of brutality and destruction of religious/cultural sites, while Tibetans in favour of autonomy conduct peaceful protests as well as violent attacks on the PRC staff and soldiers. Why isn’t Malaysia calling for OIC peacekeepers to keep the calm in Tibet?
But then, the Tibetans are just kaffir Buddhists, aren’t they. And no one wants to p*ss off China and lose all that economic gratuity. It’s self-interest, plain and simple. Hypocrites.
And why doesn’t anyone give a damn about the 65000 civilians killed through the Sri Lankan government assault against the Tamil Tiger rebels?
The jets bombed the daylights out of them. The ground forces invaded. At long last the murderous suicide-bombing terrorists were being suppressed in a military campaign. Their total defeat put an end to any notion that the terrorists and their sponsors would be granted their own state. Many civilians were killed and wounded, yet not a single protest was made against the invasion anywhere.
I refer to the conquest over the past few days by the army of Sri Lanka (once called Ceylon) of the holdout city of the Tamil independence rebels. Kilinochchi was the last town held by the Tamil “Tiger” Rebels, a group considered a terrorist group by the United States. With it fell the last Tamil hope of setting up an independent state or even of getting autonomy inside Sri Lanka.
Over the years, 65,000 people have been killed in the war with the Tamils in Sri Lanka, almost all of them civilians.
Meanwhile not a single Solidarity-with-the-Tamil-Tigers protest has been organized on a single Western campus or in a single downtown square. Jewish leftists have not taken to the streets to demand an end to the war of aggression against the Tamils. Leftist websites have not proclaimed every injury of a Tamil civilian to be a Nazi-like war crime by Sri Lanka and an act of genocide.
The Eurocrats have not pontificated about how the Sri Lankan response to terror was out of proportion. The BBC did not describe the Tamil suicide bombers as activists. The International Solidarity Movement has not sent in protesters from the West to try to defend the terrorists. Communists and fellow travelers have not organized flotillas of boats carrying aid to the terrorists to “break the siege.”
Hundreds of non-governmental organizations claiming to be concerned about human rights have not rushed aid to the terrorists in the name of humanitarian concerns.
Virtually no one knows that 65,000 civilians have died in Sri Lanka’s fight with the Tamil terrorists – in fact, most people couldn’t even find the country on a globe. The Western media have shown no interest in covering the story. In the first week of fighting in Operation Cast Lead, the number of Gazans killed, most of whom were terrorists, was far less than 1 percent of the number of Sri Lankans killed in their battle against terrorism.
Isn’t the fact that the Tamil Tigers are being bullied by the far superior Sri Lankan army cause for mass protests at the Sri Lanka embassy?
Isn’t the fact that almost 100 times more civilians have died in the conflict than in the recent Israeli operations in Gaza cuase for massive and urgent humanitarian projects and donations? (Not to mention boycotts of Sri Lankan goods!)
Isn’t that fact that the Tamil Tigers use suicide bombers too (just like the poor, innocent, oppressed Palestinians!) enough justification for at least some sympathy from the local politicians and protestors? The Tamil Tigers were the first to use suicide bombing regularly, even!
Ah, but I forgot: They are just kaffir Hindus. Who gives a darn about them when local Hindus only constitute a miniscule 6.3% of the Malaysian population? It is far more politically value-for-money to cater to the 60.4% Muslims who would approve of unconditional support for the Muslims in Palestine.
Cuh. Hypocrites.
So fine, you can hold your precious street protests, Parliament circle-jerks and boycotts-except-for-things-like-computers/the Internet/cars/phones/clothes/food/medicine produced or invented by Americans and Jews.
But don’t give us any crap about it being done in the name of neutral, objective, humans-rights-and-nothing-else compassion and justice.
I am waiting for the day when all this pretense of ‘justice’ and ‘global law’ is done away with, and people honestly admit that they are selfishly acting based solely on shared religion, political expediency and national interests.
See also similar rant, Narrow Sighted and Single Minded Criminalizing of War, which also contrasts the WESTERNWORLDGOTOHECK attitude of local leaders with the neglect shown towards the conflict in Sri Lanka:
See, I don’t say it out loud first… I let others say what I’m thinking. Mahathir and like-minded sorts always focus strongly on the ‘offences’ against the Muslim world, while basically ignoring conflict and suffering elsewhere.
Indonesian troops massacring people in Timor Leste? Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge’s killing fields? Hotel Rwanda? Brutalities within and emanating from Communist Russia, China and Vietnam? North Korea starving its own population in favour of building nukes? Nope! Not a peep about those!
