Obama Ends Russia-Georgia War by Telling Russia to Condemn Itself in the U.N.

McCain, Obama react to Georgia fighting

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — John McCain and Barack Obama agree on how to deal with the fighting between Russia and Georgia.

Both want a multi-prong diplomatic effort and are warning Moscow that it’s relations with the rest of the world are at stake.

John McCain wonders if Russia didn’t feel freer to attack Georgia after NATO put a “membership action plan” for Georgia on hold. McCain and Obama both think NATO should reconsider that decision.

McCain also believes NATO’s North Atlantic Council should convene an emergency session to demand a cease-fire, and begin talking about a peacekeeping force for South Ossetia.

Obama thinks the U.N. Security Council should pass a resolution calling for an immediate end to the violence. He also thinks a U.N. mediator should join efforts to try to end the fighting.

What’s the difference between McCain’s and Obama’s approaches to stopping the Russia-Georgia conflict?

McCain wanted to bring in NATO, which was formed precisely to counter East Bloc aggression, to demand a cease-fire.

Whereas Obama wanted to plead to the UN Security Council to ask for an end to the fighting.

Apparently, the Man Of Great Presidential Material’s grand total of 143 days of Senate experience didn’t teach him that Russia sits as a permanent member on the UNSC – with instant veto power.

Perfectly in line with the Obamaleader’s military intelligence thus far.

But that didn’t stop the ever-ready Obamedia from gushing about how Obama single-handedly stopped the Russia-Georgia war, without even having to take time off his hard-earned vacation in Hawaii.

The Soviets’ love for their fellow men never recognized borders. The new Ukranian Republic was allowed to join the new Russian Soviet Republics…”voluntarily.”

The independence of the new Georgian Republic was also granted by the Soviets in 1921. To “guarantee” this “independence,” the Soviets incorporated Georgia into the Soviet Union eight months later, after Red Army invasion.

Democrats think Obama is Qualified to be Commander-in-Chief

Yet Democrats can not name a single life achievement, or even a single life experience, which qualifies Obama to be president of the most complex and powerful nation on earth. The man thinks we have 57 states… or so.

For the record, Barack Hussein Obama is a first term U.S. Senator. Obama served only 146 days as a new senator before deciding he was qualified to be president, at which time he largely stopped his duties as senator to campaign for the Oval Office.

Democrats think Obama is a “Uniter”

A “uniter” of whom? A black community organizer, in the tradition of communist radical racial rabble-rousing, yes. A twenty year member of a black activist church, run by overtly anti-American racist pastors, yes. A friend only to anti-capitalism leftists in search of proletariat control of all private resources and assets, yes. Husband of a woman who only became proud of America for the first time in her life, when it became clear that her husband might become the DNC nominee, yes.

Democrats think Obama knows something about National Security

Yet can anyone list Barack Obama’s national security experience? Does he have military experience? Intelligence gathering experience? What is it on Barack Obama’s empty resume’ which causes Democrat voters to think he knows anything at all about securing a nation of 300 million, or even his own home and family?

Democrats think Obama can lower gas prices

Like almost every modern Democrat politician, Obama sees the temporary gas price crisis as only an opportunity to grab more private resources and central power. Democrats are already calling for taxing oil companies into lower gas prices, as if those oil companies will not pass 110% of those taxes down to the consumer in even higher gas prices.

Obama opposes all efforts to increase domestic production necessary to keep pace with domestic consumption. He supports the idea of penalizing the industry for turning a profit, which translates into improved 401k retirement returns for very average Americans. Yet Democrat voters think Obama will lower gas prices? – Duh!

Democrats think Obama is “charitable”

As reported by the Chicago Tribune, a decidedly liberal Chicago rag, “Giving, service and compassion are recurrent themes on the campaign trail for Sen. Barack Obama, but the Democratic presidential contender has only recently dug deep into his own pockets to support charitable causes.”

“In 2002, the year before Obama launched his campaign for U.S. Senate, the Obamas reported income of $259,394, ranking them in the top 2 percent of U.S. households, according to Census Bureau statistics. That year the Obamas claimed $1,050 in deductions for gifts to charity, or 0.4 percent of their income. The average U.S. household [$32,000 income] totaled $1,872 in gifts to charity in 2002, according to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.”

My how profitable [greedy] public office can be… “On their just-filed 2006 tax return, Obama and his wife, a hospital administrator, reported taxable income of $983,626 and claimed deductions for $60,307 in charitable donations. In 2005 they earned a combined $1.65 million and gave away about $77,300.”

According to the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University, even as Obama becomes richer and richer, he continues to give well below the average American.

According to tax returns, the average American household gives 5.9% of income to charity. Throughout Obama’s life, he has given on average only .4% of his income to charity. Even the bright light of public scrutiny has only been able to loosen up the grip on his wallet to 4.7% in 2005 and 6.1% in 2006.
