Earth Hour Idiocy Cum Hypocrisy: Burn Hydrocarbons For Mother Gaia

March 31, 08

Take lessons from Al ‘Consume Pollute Blameothers’ Gore’ much?

Watch as these folk burn carbon-emitting substances for no good reason. Earth Hour’s acronym EH? fits so well:

And that’s even taking into account not using other sources of light – mathematically proven! (via AoSHQ)

And here’s a gigantic energy-sucking mansion:

Oops sorry, that last one wasn’t really an Earth Hour pic… Just Al Gore’s mega-mansion on a normal day!

Seriously… Turning off the decorative lights on the San Fransico-Oakland Bay Bridge for an hour saves enough electricity to power Al Gore’s mansion for… Just 13 minutes.

Thus Michelle Malkin rightly mocks the empty, un-enlightened gestures of Earth Sour:

Because it takes more energy to show an all-black Google’s page than for an all-white one. Idiocy cum hypocrisy!

Can enviro-kooks please stop influencing the rest of the world to be as obtuse, polluting, selectively blind, science and data ignoring, Third World hating and all-of-humanity-hating as themselves?

Particularly so when the global warming hoax is finally starting to be admitted as such by even the Institue of Public Affairs – mainstream (i.e. IPCC-beholden-government funded) professionals.

Please, just please… Enough of your sheer stupidity.

Protests Against Geert Wilders’ Fitna and What Message Moderate Muslim Leaders Are Sending

March 31, 08

The following is my comment as posted on Haris Ibrahim’s blog, but I believe it is a sombre and serious message for all Muslims who may come across this post.

If you haven’t seen even seen the film or read the summary, please do before you go off and protest too!

Sir Haris, I too am saddened to note that – yet again – the Muslim leaders of the world are venting their outrage at Westerners deemed to be mocking Islam by portraying it as a violent religion…

Yet not one of them utters a peep about the extremists who call for death and jihad against nonMuslims as featured preaching hate in the film – the same ones who cause Westerners to view Islam as a violent religion.

Those extremists are the ones hijacking and ‘rebranding’ Islam as a religion of war and intolerance in the public eye. Yet none of the moderate Muslim leaders denounce or reject them.

Instead, they issue more calls for boycotts, more protests, perhaps more fatwas against Wilders, a man whose image of Islam is coloured by those very extremists and their multiple death threats against him (even before the film).

What image does this portray to the West when every single time, the Muslim leaders of the world attack the messenger (Wilders or newspaper cartoons), but not the message (extremists who are successfully using Islam as a rallying cry for violence and hatred)?

I’ll make an educated guess on the above question: Westerners will suspect that the so-called moderates secretly support the views of those extremists.

In fact, I am certain that Wilders is counting on such a knee-jerk reaction from Muslims, with maybe some riots and spontaneous murders or innocent bystanders thrown in (like what happened with the Jyllands-Posten controversy), in order to prove his point to the world.

If his aim is to influence public opinion into seeing all Muslims as violent extremists, then I’m afraid that Mahathir and all the rest of the prominent Muslim moderates are only aiding his agenda.

Muslims of the world, fix this PR disaster now – denounce the extremists featured in Fitna along with Geert Wilders!

Way Too Little, Way Too Late Samy

March 31, 08

From The Star 31 March 2008:

Samy wants Hindraf 5 released

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has urged the Government to release the five Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leaders detained under the ISA.He said his call was not a publicity stunt or a move to win back Indian support for the party.“This is done in fairness, sympathy and, also, we feel that as Indians, we have to do something about it. It is not a publicity stunt,” he said.Samy Vellu said two of the leaders – R. Kenghadaran, 40, who is very ill and M. Manoharan, 46, who won the Kota Alam Shah state seat in Selangor on a DAP ticket on March 8, – should be freed sooner.

Samy Vellu said the wives of Kenghadaran and Manoharan approached MIC for help to get their husbands released.

He said another two, V. Ganabatirau, 34, and K. Vasantha Kumar, 34, had not been that involved in the Hindraf rally in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 25 last year. The fifth detainee is P. Uthayakumar.

Speaking to reporters after opening a workshop on Rebranding the MIC here yesterday, Samy Vellu said: “I will raise it with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi after he returns from Sabah.

“If he wants to release all of them, it is up to him. We have no objections and we don’t want them to be kept inside for too long a period,” he said.

“I will also meet Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

“I had already made some moves on this earlier but I did not tell anyone. I will now make a firm move to see what can be done by the Government with regard to their plight,” said Samy Vellu.

Samy Vellu said he was harshly criticised by certain people when he spoke to Abdullah and the Attorney-General to reduce the attempted murder charges against the 31 people detained during the Hindraf rally but had still continued to assist them.

“If they (those detained) had gone ahead with the advice of their lawyers, many things could have happened.

“They should not simply be attracted to those people who want to argue for them. Many people like to argue for them so that they can get publicity. We don’t want the publicity, we want the truth,” he said.

On claims by P. Wathyamoorthy, who is overseas, that he would face a murder charge if he returned home, Samy Vellu said this was not true and Wathyamoorthy had nothing to be afraid of.

What can we say, but…
