RM 18 Million A Year For Putrajaya Landscaping Maintenance

Okay, personally I am all for weaning the rakyat of subsidies of any type, but…

BLARDY!!!!

Complain about not enough funds so must cut subsidy, but still got so much ‘excess’ to waste on an administrative capital no one visits?!!

From Malaysia Today:

Putrajaya Landscaping Maintenance Costing RM1.5 Million A Month

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) — The government spends RM1.5 million a month or RM18 million a year in maintenance cost on Putrajaya landscaping, the Dewan Rakyat was told Wednesday.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique said the maintenance work was carried out by 29 contractors who were registered with the Contractors Service Centre (CCS) for Parks Lanscaping Project according to zones.

The landscaping zones were divided into gardens, protocol roads, Persiaran Perdana, Putrajaya fringes and neighbourhood precincts, he said in a written reply to Liew Chin Tong (DAP-Bukit Bendera).

RM 18 million divided by the rise in petrol price of 78 sen per litre = 23,076,923.077 litres of petrol that could have been subsidized.

Why did any of us even vote for them in the past?

And don’t get me started on where the BN government has been wasting all our money these past 20 years…

Hmm… We should enquire Tun M about this. Apart from leaving Tun M’s signature on the beauty of Putrajaya, it is apparently squeezing out RM1.5million each month in rakyat money?

Again here, it may not be BN’s fault as a whole, but just the leader who approves or decides on these ideas.

yet another legacy of the revered Dr M. throughout his tenure he focused on spending the good Petronas money on legacy building like these, tangible projects and skyscrappers and developments, so that when he is questioned he can say that Malaysia is now transformed from a kampung country to one where we can compete with the best of them…u know the works, heard it enough. And instead neglected the development of the intellectual capital. He is single-handedly responsible for the brain-drain that we have in our country. His draconian and Machiavellian ways also left deep imprints in the structure and power-play of the current ruling parties. It will be a long while before we can shake ourselves off this artificial bubble that he crafted.
