Thong family cat, CatCat, really does the typical catty things like sit in funny places, play with toilet paper rolls, snub people but later demand attention, sit on the keyboard…

Captions following pics below by Simon Thong.

New baskets, Catcat must try them out.

She loves to lie in dusty places like the back portion of the house. Gets covered with cobwebs…

She hopped in on her own!

Amazing tail, isn’t it?

She begs ma for tuna every day..

She loves fish

After that scrumptious tuna, she wipes her face with her paws and licks them. SLURP! Last taste of tuna’s going, going, gone.

Obama and the Surge

July 23, 08

UPDATE: 2010, and nothing’s changed.

Via Moonbattery, from Youtube is a short 1-minute demonstration of Obama’s history of supporting General Petraeus‘s Surge that has brought peace to Iraq:

And get this, Obama’s lackey Joe Biden now disses the Surge and claims the credit for peace in Iraq!

And now, a video describing how an Iraqi minister reveals how Obama secretly told them to keep the troops in Iraq until after Obama takes power, so that Obama can get the credit!

From Red Planet Cartoons:

Remember what Obama wanted to do: “Immediate withdrawal from Iraq, but we’ll send troops again if Al Qaeda appears there” (even though it already is there).

And see also this post about Obama’s trip hurting his election chances: Obama’s Iraq Trip Convinces Americans That There is Peace in Iraq

Flip Flop Obama in Action – Video and Transcripts

July 23, 08

Watch, listen and read my transcript as Obama takes one position and declares he will always remain in that position…

Then flip-flops to the exact opposite position, while denying that he ever had a different stand!

If these examples don’t show that Obama is a foundationless flip-flopper who swings any direction with the political winds, it still shows that he is woefully uneducated on the most basic of issues.

If anyone can correctly predict what Obama’s stance on an issue will be one month, three months and six months from now, I will pay you a thousand dollars to advise me on what lottery numbers to buy, and hire you as my personal stockbroker for life.

Compare the text in bold with the text in bold italics, and decide for yourself if anyone can possibly know what Obama actually intends to do as President (or if even he himself knows what he intends to do!)…

Video 1 courtesy of Moonbattery, via Youtube:

Obama: We are going to proceed deliberately out of Iraq, and we are gonna have our combat troops out, we are not going to have permanent bases there…

Obama: When I go to Iraq and I have a chance to talk to some of the commanders on the ground, I’m sure I will have more information and continue to refine my policy.

Obama: We are going to proceed deliberately out of Iraq, and we are gonna have our combat troops out, we are not going to have permanent bases there…

Reporter: You thought troops should be withdrawn…

Obama: No no, I’ve never said that uh, troops should be withdrawn, what I said is that we’ve got to make sure that we secure and execute ah, the rebuilding and reconstruction process effectively and properly, and I don’t think we should have an artifical deadline when to do that.

Obama: When Bush assigned Cheney to create energy policy, Washington has become so dominated that the voices of the American people are no longer heard.

Obama: That’s why I voted for an energy bill that was far from perfect…

Obama: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny, they don’t pose a serious threat to us…

Obama: Iran is a grave threat…

Obama: I believe in the free market, I believe in capitalism, I believe in free trade…

Obama: I don’t think NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act) has been good for America and I never have.

Obama: As imperfect as he may be…

Wright: White America, U.S. of KKK A…

Obama: He has been like family to me…

Wright: Not God bless America, God d*** America

Obama: I can no more disown him, than I can disown the Black community…

Obama: Just because you have an individual right does not mean the State or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right. Y’know in the same way we have a right to private property, but local governments can establish zoning ordinances, that determine how you can use it…

Obama: That’s not something that the NRA has allowed to get through Congress and as present I intend to make it happen…

Reporter: Now you’re embracing the Supreme Court’s 5 to 4 decision striking down that law?

Obama: That that that’s not what I said, what I said was that uh, I believe in the Second Amendment as being an individual right and have said that consistently… I also think that that individual right is constrained by the rights of the community to maintain issues of public safety…

Obama: I strongly support public financing…

Obama: We’ve made the decision not to participate in the public financing system for the General Election…

Obama: What I’d like to see is a system of public financing of campaigns

Obama: Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided…

Reporter: You said that Jerusalem must remain undivided, that the Palestinians have no claim to Jerusalem in the future…

Obama: Obviously, it’s gonna be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues… Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations

Obama: Look uh, the uh, my position uh, has been uh, stayed entirely consistent uh, you know… I do think that Jerusalem need to remain the capital of Israel…

Video 2 again courtesy of Moonbattery, via Youtube:

1 minute 03 seconds

Reporter: You said in Idaho recently, uh quoting here: “I have no intention of taking away folks’ guns”, but you support the D.C. handgun ban and you said that it’s constitutional. How can you reconcile those two different positions?

Obama: Oh ah ip ip ip ip because I think we have, we have, we have two conflicting traditions in this country. Uh, I think it is important for us to recognize we’ve got a tradition of handgun ownership and, gun ownership generally.

2 minutes 33 seconds

Reporter: Two developments today that I wanna get your reaction on. Uh, first of all the Supreme Court decision today as you know that struck down the D.C. handgun, uh ban what’s you reaction to that?

Obama: Well uh I y’know I have said consistently that I believe the Second Amendment is and individual right, and that was the essential decision.

2 minutes 52 seconds

Obama: Uh, had I heard them, had I been sitting in the church at the time that they were spoken, uh I would have, b-b-been absolutely clear to Reverend Wright that uh, I didn’t find those uh, except…

Obama: Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial, while I sat in the church? …Yes.

3 minutes 17 seconds

Obama: Think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny, they don’t pose a serious threat to us…

Obama: So I’ve made it clear for years, that the threat from Iran is grave…

3 minutes 34 seconds

Reporter: Barack Obama is championing welfare reform in his new telivision ad entitled ‘Dignity’. The ad says that Obama, quote: “Passed a law to move people from welfare to work, slashed the rolls by 80%”.

Reporter: The spot fails to mention that Obama resisted the very Welfare Reform Bill that led to the reduction of case load. Back in 1996 President Bill Clinton signed a Federal Reform Bill never to make welfare what he called quote: “Second chance, not a way of life”. But then Illinois state senator Obama told the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper that year that Mr. Clinton’s stance on welfare was quote: “Disturbing”. And in 1997 Obama sat on the floor of the Illinois state senate and said quote: “I probably would not have supported the supported the federal legislation”.

4 minutes 38 seconds

Obama (2004): I think it’s time for us to end the embargo on Cuba.

Obama (2007): I stress that, I’m not gonna take off the embargo…

4 minutes 49 seconds

Reporter:Obama was asked in a November 2007 Midwest Democracy Network questionnaire if he’d forgo private funding in the General Election and accept public financing. He answered simply: “Yes. I have been a long-time advocate for public financing of campaigns”.

Reporter: And this was Obama just two months ago on Fox News Sunday: “I would be very interested in pursuing public financing”…

Obama: We’ve made the decision not to participate in the public financing system for the General Election…

Reporter: Right now it’s Obama who’s getting the most outside help. He met with AFLCIL leaders today who pledged more than 50 million dollars to defeat McCain…

Obama: This is out moment, and our country is depending on us. So join me and declare your independence from this broken system and let’s build the first General Election campaign that’s truly funded by the American People.

6 minutes 11 seconds

Reporter: When Barack Obama declined to join John McCain’s invitation to appear in a series of joint town hall meetings he not only went back on an earlier indication that he would do that…

Reporter:But he also contradicted When he wrote in his book, in The Audacity of Hope Obama writes quotes: “One of favourite tasks of being a senator is hosting town hall meetings. I held thirty-nine of them in my first year in the Senate”... Obama said they are like quote: “A dip in a cool stream. I feel cleansed afterwards, glad for the work I have chosen.”

And another:

And more:

Pre-Election Obama said he’d hold unconditional talks with opposing leaders. Now post-Election Obama has decided that preparations are necessary.

From this pre-Election:

QUESTION: In 1982, Anwar Sadat traveled to Israel, a trip that resulted in a peace agreement that has lasted ever since. In the spirit of that type of bold leadership, would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?

OBAMA: I would. And the reason is this, that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration — is ridiculous.

Diplomacy: Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama and Biden would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations.

To this post-Election:

Talk to our Foes and Friends: Obama and Biden are willing to meet with the leaders of all nations, friend and foe. They will do the careful preparation necessary, but will signal that America is ready to come to the table, and that he is willing to lead. And if America is willing to come to the table, the world will be more willing to rally behind American leadership to deal with challenges like terrorism, and Iran and North Korea’s nuclear programs.

And don’t forget Obama declaring that the Surge will most definitely exceedingly NOT succeed and his supporters then pretending that he supported the Surge from the very beginning, and stuttering and stumbling endlessly when forced to think without the aid of a script.

And also, a video describing how an Iraqi minister reveals how Obama secretly told them to keep the troops in Iraq until after Obama takes power, so that Obama can get the credit – and Obama all the while saying he wants the troops back right now!

Do You Want PAS or UMNO to be Your Supreme High Overlords?

July 21, 08

DISCLAIMER: The following post does not in any way intend to offend members of any religion or belief. It merely points out legitimate worries on the minds of the electorate.

PAS releases campaign billboards to point out the superior moral fibre of PAS over UMNO. Somehow I don’t think it will have quite the intended effect on potential non-Muslims supporters…

From Malaysian Choice via Susan Loone‘s feature comes the following 44 differences between PAS and UMNO:

See the rest of the images at Malaysian Choice.

To a non-Muslim, the selected choices boil down to these:

1. Do you want Ketuanan Islam, or Ketuanan Melayu?

2. Do you want sharia and hudud law, or a crony judiciary and police force?

3. Do you want Islamic religious leaders, or half-wit leaders?

7. Do you want to obey the Quran, or the Constitution with its ingrained ‘social contract’?

14. Do you want your rights as non-Muslims to be respected (insofar as a dhimmi has second-class rights), or to have the same kinds of first-class rights as Muslims given to you? (Bang, Ow! Shot own foot!)

21. Do you want the crucial issues decided by Quranic and Hadithic scholarship, or Western-style logic and reasoning? (Fire two, Bang Ow!)

22. Do you want politics looking towards No-Non-Islam-Religions-Allowed-To-Step-Foot-Here Mecca and Non-Islam-Religions-Cannot-Protelyse-Or-Be-Visibly-Non-Islamic-btw-Death-to-Jews Iran, or Western-style equal rights? (Third time’s a charm, Bang Ow!)

33. Do you want to vote for the party that is 100% comprised of followers of Islam, or do you support the party of kafirs (i.e. infidels, unbelievers, rejecters of the truth, ingrates) – especially in Sabah ? (Bang Ow! Only one more toe left on this side!)

38. Do you want to be separated from your wife, mother and daughters in public, or do you actually want to be a family? (Bang Ow! Okay, that foot’s done – and just in time, only one more bullet in the six-shooter.)

39. Do you want Islam to be the true top priority, or do you want Islam merely to be the tool that is used to gain power to control you?

42. Do you want your leaders shouting “Allah is great! Live Islam!”, or “Independence! Live UMNO! Live Malays!”?

44. Do you want to champion Islam, or champion Malaysia? (Let’s make the last one count boys! Ready, aim… Bang! *self pwnage complete*)

I have trouble even deciphering some of the heavily Islamic-origin words, which surely cannot help ease the fears of suspicious, paranoid, distrustful, phobic skeptics like myself.

If, as some say, choosing between Anwar or Najib basically comes down to whether you like vipers or cobras more… Well, you guys can comment some other suitable metaphor.

This scared little non-Malay, non-Muslim mouse is out of squeaks. (Is there even a constitutional difference under Article 160?)

Honestly, can’t we just have a political party that gives us full citizen rights and doesn’t try and crowd out our personal beliefs and culture?

Al Gore and Supporters Teach Us How to Stop Global Warming: Ride Taxis, Leave Luxury Cars and SUVs Idling With A/C On

July 21, 08

Via Americans For Prosperity, which had this to say:

Gore’s Hypocrisy Exposed in New Video: His Entourage’s Lincoln Town Car Outside Global Warming Speech Idles w/ AC Cranking for 20 Minutes!
Ed Frank

We’re back from Al Gore’s big global warming speech, and boy did we have a great time! We had a dedicated band of taxpayer advocates out in force, pointing out the high economic cost of global warming alarmism – starting with $8 a gallon gasoline.

Of course, we saw plenty of hypocrisy — especially the fact that Gore didn’t ride his bike or take public transporation to the event. He didn’t even take his Prius! Instead, he brought a fleet of two Lincoln Town Cars and a Chevy Suburban SUV! Even worse, the driver of the Town Car that eventually whisked away Gore’s wife and daughter left the engine idling and the AC cranking for 20 minutes before they finally left!

Check it out in our video from the scene:

Here’s that video hosted on Youtube:

Some highlights from the short video expose:

What the audience who will see Gore speak are advised to do:

Gore supporters ignore the advice to take very-very-nearby public transport or bicycle to the event, instead relying on gas-guzzling, carbon-spewing taxis (with only one passenger per taxi!):

As for Gore himself…

And his chaffeur keeps his luxury car idling with air conditioning blasting for 20 minutes, spewing out vast amounts of carbon!

Just so Wife of Gore and Daughter of Gore can enjoy a cool respite from all that horrid global warming – caused by the selfish and uncaring attitudes of you and me, of course! We’re so hateful towards Gaia!

Al Gore’s renown carbon/consumption hypocrisy also covered at Moonbattery, This Goes to 11, Michelle Malkin and The Jawa Report.

Mathematical Proof: IPCC’s Computer Models Wrongly Programmed, No Climate Crisis

July 17, 08

UPDATE: 50,000 physicists of the American Physical Society deny global warming! (Note: Argument going on in the society on what their stance really is.) NASA scientist backs up Monckton, APS members warned not to debate global warming.

Einstein proved his Theory of Relativity with mathematics long before actual experiments were carried out to verify its truth. Similarly, various advanced physics concepts such as black holes, quantum mechanics and string theory are all proved by pure mathematical solving.

Now, despite being stubbornly obtuse to exposure of blatant lies, plain to see mistakes and murder of common sense, global warming hysterians have finally been refuted by that most logical and undebatable of sciences.

Via Moonbattery, from Science & Public Policy Institute:

WASHINGTON (7-15-08.) — Mathematical proof that there is no “climate crisis” appears today in a major, peer-reviewed paper in Physics and Society, a learned journal of the 10,000-strong American Physical Society, SPPI reports.

Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered demonstrates that later this century a doubling of the concentration of CO2 compared with pre-industrial levels will increase global mean surface temperature not by the 6 °F predicted by the IPCC but, harmlessly, by little more than 1 °F.

• The IPCC’s 2007 climate summary overstated CO2’s impact on temperature by 500-2000 %

• CO2 enrichment will add little more than 1 °F (0.6 °C) to global mean surface temperature by 2100

• Not one of the three key variables whose product is climate sensitivity can be measured directly

• The IPCC’s values for these key variables are taken from only four published papers, not 2,500

• The IPCC’s values for each of the three variables, and hence for climate sensitivity, are overstated

• “Global warming” halted ten years ago, and surface temperature has been falling for seven years

• Not one of the computer models relied upon by the IPCC predicted so long and rapid a cooling

• The IPCC inserted a table into the scientists’ draft, overstating the effect of ice-melt by 1000%

• It was proved 50 years ago that predicting climate more than two weeks ahead is impossible

• Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth warmed

• In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years

Full PDF available by clicking this link.

See this post for an illustration of what climate change psychotic alarmists blame for those tens of thousands of years of temperature fluctuations.

It took long enough – the global warming hoaxers may finally be exposed as the very same un-scientific, paid-off, biased charlatans they’ve always accused us skeptics of being.

But if 32,000 scientists disputing global warming still don’t count as ‘no consensus on global warming’ to the misleading and dishonest IPCC, I wonder if another 10,000 accredited physicists will make any difference against the Infallible Grand Inquisition of Global Warming.

Anwar Ibrahim Arrested by Armed Balaclava Police

July 16, 08

On a tip from Anne and a link from wits0, via the BBC:

Malaysia’s Anwar Ibrahim arrested

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been arrested outside his home, his lawyer has said.

Mr Anwar was stopped by several police officers outside his home and taken to police headquarters.

His lawyer said no reason was given for the arrest, which came shortly before Mr Anwar was due to give a statement to police over sodomy allegations.

The former deputy prime minister denies the allegations, which he says are aimed at ending his political comeback.

Armed police

Mr Anwar has been has been in a tense stand-off with police since a former male aide accused him of sexual assault two weeks ago.

The 60 year-old opposition leader had always been due to report to police on Wednesday, to be interviewed over sodomy allegations.

But police decided not to wait. Mr Anwar was stopped outside the gates of his home on Wednesday morning, by armed police wearing balaclavas.

He was taken to police HQ in a large convoy.

His lawyer and his wife have been seen going into the building.

Mr Anwar’s arrest will be seen as provocative by Malaysian opposition groups.

When he was arrested on similar charges 10 years ago, his supporters staged large demonstrations.

A BBC correspondent in Kuala Lumpur, Robin Brant, says it is almost certain that the same thing will happen again now.

Armed and with balaclavas? Why, it sounds almost like they were…

…Refined gentlemen. Yup, that’s the accurate term for them!

Poster is #14 from Malaysian Politics Motivational Posters. Click for full size.

See how theblogosphere is responding to this event at I Am Malaysian.

Susan Loone reports: Anwar arrested at his home, hundreds gather to protest Anwar’s arrest (with lots of links to foreign news coverage):

Anwar Ibrahim was arrested on his way home after being questioned by the ACA on his report on the IGP and AG, and before he could even go for questioning at the Kuala Lumpur police station. Real foul play. A press statement from his office says:

As he entered the neighborhood of his home, a contingent of ten police cars, half unmarked and half patrol, forced the two cars in Anwar Ibrahim’s entourage to stop. There was a contingent of 20 balaklava-clad masked commandos (UTK) who accosted him, reminiscent of the forces sent to arrest Anwar Ibrahim at his home in September 1998.

An officer approached Anwar Ibrahim and demanded that he accompany the police in an unmarked vehicle to the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters. His lawyers were not permitted to travel with him to the police station.
