JB Crime: Man Slashed in Face and Robbed at 1pm

I told you long ago – the JB criminals have not left or been vanquished by the influx of extra police. They simply went into hiding, biding their time until people let their guard down.

Jalan Wong Ah Fook and other areas around the JB city centre near the Causeway are hot spots for crime. They love to target people, especially unsuspecting Singaporeans who are used to the safety and lawfulness in Singapore and are carrying lots of juicy, 2.35 times more valuable Singapore Dollars.

From The Star 17 Dec 2008:

Slashed in brazen attack

JB Slash Rob

JOHOR BARU: A 31-year-old construction site supervisor needed more than 100 stitches on his face and neck after a knife-wielding robber slashed him in broad daylight.

Teh Hiang Seng, who works in Singapore, was going to make credit card payments at a bank in Jalan Wong Ah Fook at 1pm on Sunday when a man approached him and demanded the RM920 he had.

Teh said he tried to fight but the man managed to overpower him.

“I tried running away but he chased after me. He then took out a pocket knife and slashed me on the face,” he said.

He was speaking at a press conference organised by Johor Baru City Council councillor Rodney Soon here yesterday.

Teh explained that the robber was about to take his money when the bank’s security guards came to his rescue.

“The guards held off the man and called the police. I am deeply traumatised by the attack.”

Police sent him to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, where he received more than 100 stitches for the injuries on his face.

Soon said he would write a letter to the police urging them to tighten security in the city, especially in the central business district.

Had a conversation with a college student, studying in KL. Stays in an area that has patrols by security personnel after dark. Every household is given a whistle. “Blow when you have someone trying to get into your house,” said the “manager” of the private security firm (unlicensed). Maybe the JB police chief could tell JB residents, “Carry a whistle and blow when being robbed. Buy them at a police station near you. Buy one, get one free.”

    damn………..they robbed the wrong guy!

Hey, if any JB crooks are reading this, ROB THE SINGAPOREANS, not Msians working in Sg. No one has any symphaty when those arrogant buggers get robbed or slashed.

  3. Scott Thong Says:

If arrogant, rich, better-than-thous ought to get robbed, there are plenty of UMNOputras around that match that description.

  4. hutchrun Says:

Ah so. My relatives in JB became a statistic last night with a robbery at their place.

Mine in Batu Pahat says there are plenty of lepak kakis there. Even very old motor bikes at flats get stolen and the cops can arrange to ransom it from the ‘hijackers’.

Wonderful Johor! The MSM hardly mention such facts of life there.

  6. hutchrun Says:

Those old motor bikes would be worth something as besi buruk. Even the grill over the drain in front of house got stolen.
I dread to think of what would happen if we were androids. Perwaja Steel here I come.
