Malaysians Who Care About Palestine and Nothing Else Are Self-Absorbed Hypocrites

So, the Malaysian Parliament will be convening a special session to discuss the situation in Gaza where Israel is kicking Hamas butt (i.e. spend a few hours seeing who can bash Israel more vociferously to score political points with the local Muslim populace).

As if there weren’t more important and pressing local matters to discuss, such as the blockheaded annoyance known as the CIQ in Johor.

Well, let me say it out clearly:

Malaysian who are soooooo concerned over the Gaza issue are shallow hypocrites.

Yes, you heard me right. I dare say that anyone around here only cares about Gaza and the Palestinian issue in general because:

A) The Gazans are Muslims and therefore ‘brothers’ to all Muslims in Malaysia, and

B) The Israelis are Jews and therefore evil world-dominating Zionist puppet masters, Jews also being the world’s worst race/scum according to plenty of interpretations of Islam.

If I’m wrong to say this, then why doesn’t anyone give a damn about Tibet?

Tibet is similarly under ‘occupation’ by the PRC which lays ‘historical claim’ to it, based on the fact that it used to rule the Tibet area centuries ago – exactly the same argument that can be said of Israel (which apart from that sort of claim, was established by United Nations decree with more than 2/3 vote).

PRC troops are accused of brutality and destruction of religious/cultural sites, while Tibetans in favour of autonomy conduct peaceful protests as well as violent attacks on the PRC staff and soldiers. Why isn’t Malaysia calling for OIC peacekeepers to keep the calm in Tibet?

But then, the Tibetans are just kaffir Buddhists, aren’t they. And no one wants to p*ss off China and lose all that economic gratuity. It’s self-interest, plain and simple. Hypocrites.

And why doesn’t anyone give a damn about the 65000 civilians killed through the Sri Lankan government assault against the Tamil Tiger rebels?

The jets bombed the daylights out of them. The ground forces invaded. At long last the murderous suicide-bombing terrorists were being suppressed in a military campaign. Their total defeat put an end to any notion that the terrorists and their sponsors would be granted their own state. Many civilians were killed and wounded, yet not a single protest was made against the invasion anywhere.

I refer to the conquest over the past few days by the army of Sri Lanka (once called Ceylon) of the holdout city of the Tamil independence rebels. Kilinochchi was the last town held by the Tamil “Tiger” Rebels, a group considered a terrorist group by the United States. With it fell the last Tamil hope of setting up an independent state or even of getting autonomy inside Sri Lanka.

Over the years, 65,000 people have been killed in the war with the Tamils in Sri Lanka, almost all of them civilians.

Meanwhile not a single Solidarity-with-the-Tamil-Tigers protest has been organized on a single Western campus or in a single downtown square. Jewish leftists have not taken to the streets to demand an end to the war of aggression against the Tamils. Leftist websites have not proclaimed every injury of a Tamil civilian to be a Nazi-like war crime by Sri Lanka and an act of genocide.

The Eurocrats have not pontificated about how the Sri Lankan response to terror was out of proportion. The BBC did not describe the Tamil suicide bombers as activists. The International Solidarity Movement has not sent in protesters from the West to try to defend the terrorists. Communists and fellow travelers have not organized flotillas of boats carrying aid to the terrorists to “break the siege.”

Hundreds of non-governmental organizations claiming to be concerned about human rights have not rushed aid to the terrorists in the name of humanitarian concerns.

Virtually no one knows that 65,000 civilians have died in Sri Lanka’s fight with the Tamil terrorists – in fact, most people couldn’t even find the country on a globe. The Western media have shown no interest in covering the story. In the first week of fighting in Operation Cast Lead, the number of Gazans killed, most of whom were terrorists, was far less than 1 percent of the number of Sri Lankans killed in their battle against terrorism.

Isn’t the fact that the Tamil Tigers are being bullied by the far superior Sri Lankan army cause for mass protests at the Sri Lanka embassy?

Isn’t the fact that almost 100 times more civilians have died in the conflict than in the recent Israeli operations in Gaza cuase for massive and urgent humanitarian projects and donations? (Not to mention boycotts of Sri Lankan goods!)

Isn’t that fact that the Tamil Tigers use suicide bombers too (just like the poor, innocent, oppressed Palestinians!) enough justification for at least some sympathy from the local politicians and protestors? The Tamil Tigers were the first to use suicide bombing regularly, even!

Ah, but I forgot: They are just kaffir Hindus. Who gives a darn about them when local Hindus only constitute a miniscule 6.3% of the Malaysian population? It is far more politically value-for-money to cater to the 60.4% Muslims who would approve of unconditional support for the Muslims in Palestine.

Cuh. Hypocrites.

So fine, you can hold your precious street protests, Parliament circle-jerks and boycotts-except-for-things-like-computers/the Internet/cars/phones/clothes/food/medicine produced or invented by Americans and Jews.

But don’t give us any crap about it being done in the name of neutral, objective, humans-rights-and-nothing-else compassion and justice.

I am waiting for the day when all this pretense of ‘justice’ and ‘global law’ is done away with, and people honestly admit that they are selfishly acting based solely on shared religion, political expediency and national interests.

See also similar rant, Narrow Sighted and Single Minded Criminalizing of War, which also contrasts the WESTERNWORLDGOTOHECK attitude of local leaders with the neglect shown towards the conflict in Sri Lanka:

See, I don’t say it out loud first… I let others say what I’m thinking. Mahathir and like-minded sorts always focus strongly on the ‘offences’ against the Muslim world, while basically ignoring conflict and suffering elsewhere.

Indonesian troops massacring people in Timor Leste? Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge’s killing fields? Hotel Rwanda? Brutalities within and emanating from Communist Russia, China and Vietnam? North Korea starving its own population in favour of building nukes? Nope! Not a peep about those!

    Your assumption is wrong.

If the media only cared about Muslims, it would be highlighting 24/7 news on the Thai almost-civil-war in the south which has killed far more than Palestine in the last 5 years. Some estimates are 10,000 dead and those are the low estimates.

Those people not only are muslim, they are MALAY as well. In fact, more Malay than the likes of Najib or Badawi.

Also, what about the phillipines. The Phillipine army have fought another almost-civil-war with Muslim seperatists in the South, which is just as brutal but receives zero press coverage. Effect can be seen with almost 1 million Phillipino muslim refugees in Sabah/Sarawak.

Not only are those people Muslim, they are genetically almost similar to Malay as well. Silence is defeaning.

Palestine receives a lot of media attention here because people want to identify with Arabs. Arabs have a genuine reason to play up Palestinian issue.

Israel is a very well-armed enemy state that, lets be honest, is much stronger and more competent than all the arabs put together. They also have US support. So Arabs and Iranians support Palestinian issue both to weaken Israel politically and materially. This is normal – enemy of my enemy is my friend. Also, Arabs are still sore after losing 3 wars, and Jerusalem, to Israel.

So Palestinian issue is played up via Arab supporters in the world media and by Al-Jazeera. And Malaysian and Indon governments see a good issue to use as a scapegoat to distract their populace.

They certainly can’t popularize Thai and Phillipino causes!!! Because if the people get overexcited it may mean war with Thailand or the Phillipines. So you have the unique situation of Khairy Jamaluddin jumping a police barrier to protest Israel, but Badawi smiling and shaking hands with Thai PM and foreign minister during ASEAN summit.

PS: Never got to finish my christianity debate with you. So don’t get all happy with your “victory” :P. Was on yearend vacation – to sunny Maldives. South atoll is beautiful compare to dreary london where i spent most of the last 5 years.

  2. Scott Thong Says:

An excellent point! The media does not give nearly enough coverage to the brutal murders being committed against not only soldiers, but teachers, women and pacifist monks by the Pattani head-lopping jihadists.

You can restart or start a new debate if you wish, as I have too many new threads all the time to keep any one in mind for long. Just try to keep each comment to just a few points at a time so it doesn’t degenerate into a series of Too Long, Didn’t Read.

  3. matkilat Says:

“The media does not give nearly enough coverage to the brutal murders being committed against not only soldiers, but teachers, women and pacifist monks by the Pattani head-lopping jihadists.”

Thais are not angels as well.

The massacre at Narathiwat was badly handled to say the least. Also, the separatist do have some legitimate grouses, in that they are badly discriminated against by the buddhist Thai government.

  4. Scott Thong Says:

The Chinese and Christians in Indonesia should start collecting bombs, AK-47s and machetes then.

And perhaps the nonMuslims in Malaysia, especially those rotting in ISA detention and ‘religious reuducation camps for apostate Muslims’.

And the nonMuslims in Iran, Afghasnistan and Saudi Arabia.

And the Coptic Christians in Egypt.

And basically any nonMuslim kaffir living under Muslim dhimmitude rules.

    JUST REBELLION!!!!!11one!!

(The point I’m making here is, how come all the nonMuslims suffering, being discriminated against, being attacked, raped, killed, robbed, forcibly converted, jailed etc. do not rise up in armed, suicide-bombing rebellion against their Muslim oppressors? What is wrong with those foolish nonMuslims? Surely they see how effective a strategy armed jihad is – the whole world supports the Palestinians more and more with every suicide bombing against the cruel Israeli schoolchildren on buses!)

  6. wits0 Says:

The matter may be beyond being” Self-Absorbed Hypocrites”

It’s the spike that help tears asunder the fabric of claimed “national unity”. If one party demonstrates the depth of their “righteousness” based on mere partisan standing rather than truth, it displays its own core shallowness. The BN doesn’t care and the PR also is blind. Just look at LKS’ PC spew in his blog.

  7. Scott Thong Says:

Glad you could find my blog, penang71. How did you come across it?

I suspect that there is actually quite a large – but silent because their views are kept out of the mainstream media – minority of Malaysians who do not parrot the official stances.

  8. sing lau Says:

Scott, well said. It is chiefly their unquenchable hatred for the ‘accursed’ Jews, not so much for their love and concern for the poor Palestinians, that explains all noisy hypocrisy.

It is not the nature of Israel to attack without being incessantly provoked by the Hamas.

  9. matkilat Says:

Don’t be so bleeding childish, lad. Always 2 sides to every conflict.

No ones saying their method of opposition to the Thai govt is correct, however, do recognize they do have grounds for feeling marginalized.

As far as it goes, Thais have broke many rules of war as well in the “dirty war” down south. A lot of Muslim young men have “disappeared” from their homes in the night.

You really need to take a chill pill. Or get laid. Sounds like its been awhile.

  10. Scott Thong Says:

Don’t be so bleeding childish, lad. Always 2 sides to every conflict.

Then it’s extra funny how you continue by giving only one side of the conflict immediately after that sentence!

You really need to take a chill pill. Or get laid. Sounds like its been awhile.

Ooo, how classy – personal attacks already!

FYI, it really has been a long time since I got it on… Like, two whole days!

Hey, you think it would help my utterly hopeless and dead sex life if I got a nice, sweet, young 6 year old daughter of one of my best friends for a new wife? I promise not to take her off her swing and have sex with her until she’s 9. But she has to clean up the sheets afterwards.

*snarky hint hint wink wink refer refer insinuate*

  11. wits0 Says:

“A lot of Muslim young men have “disappeared” from their homes in the night.”

Even if there is some truth is that, how does that justify the deliberate targetting of Thai teachers, monks and other innocent civillians including co-religionists?

  12. hutchrun Says:

Of course they disappear in the night when out on holy missions. They don`t exactly send out leaflets and whatnot (unlike those dumb joos).

    Like these:

The author talked about his chanced meeting with a group of Tabligh cult from Southern Thailand in a LRT train in Kuala Lumpur. “They were obviously very poor people but they have been on religious journey – away from home – for 4 months. They were rubber tapers and farmers…. When I asked “how does your wife earn money while you are away for 4 months? He replied “God will provide..” This is the frightening answer you can get from these folks. They are high on some strange religious “spirit” that simply numb them from the real world”

  13. Edi神 Says:

They all are rushing for the 72virgins before they run out of stocks!

  14. penang71 Says:

Through Xblogs. Have added you to my favourites.
So refreshing to have someone brave enough to take a stand opposite to the mainstream. Takes guts.
    Keep up the good work.

  15. Scott Thong Says:

    You mean… These 72 virgins?

  16. Feenux Says:

    You can’t make everyone angry.

How about starting a campaign to address the other wars mentioned above instead of complaining about others not doing something about it?

  17. Scott Thong Says:

Well actually, my point is just to reveal the hyposcrisy, biasedness and politically mercenary attitude of Malaysians.

  18. reaper Says:

Shallow people indeed. I guess that’s why they have to “force” islam on their own ppl.

  19. hutchrun Says:

    “You can’t make everyone angry.”

    Everyone IS angry:

A candlelight vigil held on Saturday in Jalan Bukit Bintang to protest against the war in Gaza was greeted with a mix of jeers and cheers.

  20. wits0 Says:

Everyone IS angry – here it means every right thinking and decent person who’s not a zombie because there is no way this first article of Hamas does not stink:

“Article Number 1) The Charter of Allah: The Platform of the Islamic Resistance Movement

“In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate You are the best community that has been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed, it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-doers. They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped. Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save [where they grasp] a rope from Allah and a rope from man. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slew the Prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress.” Surat Al-Imran (III), verses 109-111 Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors. The Islamic World is burning. It is incumbent upon each one of us to pour some water, little as it may be, with a view of extinguishing as much of the fire as he can, without awaiting action by the others.”

To support Hamas via partisan peaceniks and leftards beating around the bush of victimhood and bathos is therefore to support evil that pretends to be good.

kudos mate…i agree wholeheartedly..i commented on one of your posts but can’t remember which one especially since i didn’t use the follow-up comments option but anyhoo, i think what you’re saying is 100% accurate and 100% true of our government but i’m surprise that you’re not under ISA yet..well, i hope you won’t ever those who fight for our rights out there…thanks…
i’m a dayak and even tho, part of my race is a majority in sarawak, we are treated fact, it’s about racial prefential treatment here as much as it is in semenanjung which sickens me.
instead of a qualified educated person at a high position, it’s the one that have “connections”..very stupid.
    i like your blog..interesting.

That said, did you see the Sun newspaper today? (do they get it in, ahem, JOHOR coughcoughsnarksnarkisfromKL) That front-page ad about the conference condemning war and calling the Israelis “Zionist Cowards”?

  23. x Says:

i am a Muslim and i think that the Malays are hypocrites because they do not treat the the other groups, such as the Indians, as 1st class citizens, yet they talk about the plight of the Palestinians.

i think that all people should be treated equally. there is hypocrisy among the jews as well; they only believe that they were vitcims and ignore the plight of the palestinians. the malays do same thing in malaysia.

i wanted to know though (since i am an American in the states) if the Muslim Indians,Pakistanis, Bangladeshis are treated the same as the Malays or it is the same case for them as that of the Hindu Indians.

and as for the Palestinian situation: it should also be noted that non-Arab Muslims die in so many places but it seems no on cares about them. i am talking about darfur Sudan, small instances in gujrat, and the Muslims in Burma. does this mean that Arabs are more important because of this attitude.
there could also be another explanation for the intense emotions related to the Palestinians. that would be that the Jews in Israel, the majority, are Europeans and that makes the situation worse because they are seen as colonist sort of like how the Afrikaners were seen in south Africa.
at the end of the day, every one deserves equal rights and equal punishment. people fail to realize that people do not get to choose where or who they are born as. that also relates to what their religion is. usually if a person’s parents are Hindus, they will be Hindu. how can you hate or discriminate someone on something which they have no control over.

  24. kristine Says:

You’re right, we all should care more about what’s happening in Tibet. But dude, no one really gives a damn about Gaza-no one that matters that is. America doesn’t care, and the cowardly Arab leaders don’t care. That’s why Muslims rally for it. People love lost causes.

But you do have a point. More press coverage should’ve been given to Tibet.

hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all
web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the
net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
