How the Gaza Situation is Reported in Malaysia (i.e. With Huge and Blatant Anti-Israel Slant)

The following is how the Gaza situation is reported on in the mainstream news in Malaysia – supposedly, a ‘moderate’ Muslim nation. Obamessiah only knows what it’s like in ‘radical’ Muslim nations.

(All examples were witnessed firsthand by this writer. All phrases in quotes are translated from the local Malay language the news is reported in.)

The term Israel is never used – the preferred term is ‘Zionist regime’, often with an adjective such as ‘brutal’ or ‘cruel’.

Only the Palestinian side of the story is shown and talked about – wounded Palestinians civilians, destroyed Palestinian homes, suffering of Palestinians, pro-Palestinian personalities interviewed.

The daily rocket attacks on Israel are not even mentioned, nor the Hamas attack positions that are destroyed. Seldom is it mentioned why Israel even switched to the offensive, intentionally leaving the impression that Israel invades Gaza as a hobby.

Pleas for donations to help the Palestinians are regularly broadcast – none for Israel, of course.

On the front page of the leading English daily ‘The Star’, the rocket attacks from Lebanon are described as *slightly* wounding two Israelis. This adjective would never be used for Palestinians, of course.

The US always gives ‘unconditional support to Israel’ – no mention of the valid and rational reasons why the US does so.

Israel will not stop ‘until it controls all of West Asia’ – not even Palestine or the Middle East.

And the most blatant part – Israel didn’t unintentionally kill Palestinians. It didn’t even murder them. It ‘drank the blood of Palestinian citizens’. I kid you not.

The Palestinians are the victims moron. Almost 900 killed-half of them cjildren and only 3 Israelis dead. Tell me how to report.

  2. Scott Thong Says:

    Very easy.

You report how Hamas intentionally tries to get Israel to kill as many civilians as possible, instead of protecting them or keeping them out of combat’s way.

You report how the armed Hamas fighters purposely hide among children and women, how they grab young boys and force them to follow along as human shields, and how they use civilian homes and hospitals and mosques and schools as bases for launching rockets and attacks.

All examples shown in video and photos at this post (search text for ‘UNRWA’ and then ‘human shields’).

Read it and tell me how to report.

GAZA, Aug 20 (Reuters) – Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas said on Saturday it would fight to drive Israel out of the West Bank and Jerusalem after the Jewish state completes its withdrawal from the occupied Gaza Strip this year.

“Gaza is not Palestine,” a masked spokesman for Hamas’s armed wing told a news conference in Gaza City…

It’s should be clear to sane and fair minded people as to who acted with unalloyed and pathological MALICE.

From the official pronouncements/line, there seem a lack of moral clarity in M’sia but a deluge of partisan madness. And there’re also that smattering of PC crowd of bleeding hearts and useful idiots, ever so blur.

Over 9-11, the Palestinians danced in the streets. The Western mainstream media tried to cover that up soon afterwards. But today’s an Internet era.

  12. hutchrun Says:

journalists that are reporting from Israel and Gaza, a significant majority are Palestinians or Arabs that work for news organizations in countries that have populations, governments, and news leadership openly hostile to Israel. As a result, their reporting is reliably and perhaps unavoidably biased.

Such biases led to the ready acceptance in recent years of the staging of news in this region, a fraud which became so pervasive it was dubbed “Pallywood” for stylized, often fictionalized events published as news. In the last war in the region, Reuters was forced to withdraw more than 900 photos and fire two employees because images had been doctored with Photoshop. Reuters has been found to have purposefully mis-captioned flares as weapons systems on no less than four photos in this current conflict.

The foreign reporters that attempt to temper their biases are hampered by the simple fact that the overwhelming majority of them have little cultural knowledge of the area and even less knowledge of military affairs, equipment, or tactics.

This results in gross incompetence, such as the multiple media accounts that have labeled M825A1 155mm artillery smoke shells as offensive chemical weapons.

I think he means that when Israel and America join forces to bring about great advances in civilization and culture and science, the jealous scum of the earth resort to Terrorism to sabotage them. (‘Cos these are the two most advanced armies in the world, so conventional warfare would be in their favour.)

Not only are our decisions affected by reportings but also by the ideology behind that group of people. In the case of hamas, tell me how can i support it when it wants to kill all jews, and impose their religion on everyone in the world?

  20. oneworldmaybenot Says:

Touche, Scott but unfortunately there’s so many including non muslims that fall for the media bias in the MSM here, hook line & sinker

  21. penang71 Says:

Zane, totally with scott on this one.
Hamas is purposely putting babies in the way of harm in an effort to win the propaganda war. And enough people are falling for it.
To Hamas, life is cheap – doesn’t matter whose. It’s their “cause” that matters.

And all that talk about the so called “crippling embargo” – amazing how Hamas still can build rockets to fire into Israel – 18 yesterday! Over 6000 in the past 3 years.

Salam , the number of Israelis killed as reported by Al Jazeera is 13,not 3.

    Hamas covenant :

    http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sd&ID=SP109206

With these kind of covenant, stating ambitious goal of force the whole world to convert or die, why should anyone who values their freedom of choice on religious matters support hamas? It is not just about territory. In fact hamas doesn’t want the problems between Israel and palestine to end through peaceful negotiotiations because they want to use the conflicts for a more sinister ambition of fulfilling their lusts for power using the name of religion. Like hitler, after wining the election, hamas is no longer interested in the people except to use them for their own purpose – as human shields. Hitler also won through elections but he later executed those Germans who spoke against him. Remember the famous “white rose” incident.

Editor of the Egyptian Government Daily Al-Gumhouriyya: Hamas, Syria, Iran – The New Axis of Evil

The editor of the Egyptian government daily Al-Gumhouriyya, Muhammad ‘Ali Ibrahim, who is also an Egyptian MP, wrote a series for the paper titled “Hamas, Damascus, Iran – The New Axis of Evil.” In the series, he criticized Hamas, Syria, and Iran for their position vis-à-vis Gaza and the opening of the Rafah crossing. Ibrahim stated that Iran and Syria had conspired to keep the Palestinian problem unresolved and to take advantage of it to promote their interests in the region, and argued that Hamas was a tyrannical religious movement which was, like the Nazis in mid-20th-century Europe, pushing its people towards catastrophe by preferring Syria’s and Iran’s interests to those of the Palestinians.

  26. hutchrun Says:

NY Times, of course, was denying the holocaust was taking place when it was and so hid the american public from that.

  27. wits0 Says:

Ah, Wahab, I stand corrected. It was Patton.

    This was what McArthur said,

“I have known war as few men now living know it. It’s very destructiveness on both friend and foe has rendered it useless as a means of settling international disputes.”

That’s wisdom but requiring both sides. Never work when one side is totally bigoted and belligerent like Hamass.

But we have crazies today finding cause for “holy wars” at every drop of the turban. Since when was war ever holy? But we have “spiritual leaders ” preaching the same, instigating the zombies from behind unlike generals of ancient days that led from the front. One particular Creed always do that.

  28. Mads Gilbert Says:

“Reporters are responsible for this monstrous myth that Israel wants to harm the children of Gaza. It fails to recognize the hatred delivered in classrooms of Islamic regimes across the Middle East that will bear fruits of terror on every western shore. At that point, the world might thank Israel for being the first to stand up against pure evil.”
    http://honestreporting.com/articles/45884734/critiques/new/Media_Gives_Platform_to_Radical_Doctor.asp

  29. cphilip Says:

Just joking. how will muslim feel if America starts to teach young children in their classroom how good it feels to kill a muslim. Crate a doll and labelling it as muslim and then encourage children to kick the doll. But many americans who thinks rationally and have respect for children will not do that. So why is hamas teaching children to hate. In christianity, hatred itself when it is bodering towards hostilities, taking joy to see another person suffer is equivalent to the act of murder even before the actual physical act is carried out. A true christian country will never teach the child and tell him or her that hatred against another person or another race is a good thing. We can hate the action but we should have love for the person and pray that the person can change. Many early christians hate the actions of the romans who sent them to the lions but they tried their best to love and pray for the person who carried out the act. these are the true matrys not the cowardly suicide bombers who kill others. Maybe this is why christians can bring down the roman empire.

  30. cphilip Says:

the early christians martyrs won the romans, their enemies by using love and not by using hatred and hostilities towards the person. What a contrast!

“Your beliefs form reality. Your individual beliefs and your joint beliefs. Now the intensity of a belief is extremely important…

And, if you believe, in very simple terms, that people mean you well, and will treat you kindly, they will. And, if you believe that the world is against you, then so it will be in your experience. And, if you believe…IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL BEGIN TO DETERIORATE AT 22, then so you shall.

And, if you believe that you are poor, and always will be, then so your experience will so prove to you. Your beliefs meet you in the face when you look in the mirror. They form your image. You cannot escape your beliefs. They are, however, the method by which you create your experience.

It is important that you here realize that you are not at the mercy of the unexplainable, that you are not at the mercy of events over which you have no control whether those events are psychological events or physical ones, in your terms.

As I have told you, there is little difference if you believe that your present life is caused by incidents in your early infancy or by past lives over which equally you feel you have no control. Your events, your lives, your experiences, are caused by your present beliefs. Change the beliefs and your life changes.” –Seth

The War Victims the Media Forgot

10 forgotten conflicts: Colombia, Sri Lanka, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Sudan (Darfur), Somalia, East Timor, and Chechnya.

And that’s just noting 10, a nice round number. That’s not counting the Philippines, Indonesia, India (Kashmir), Morocco, Turkey, and Thailand. The list really goes on, but I came up with those in 15 seconds.

Civilians die every day in armed conflilcts around the world, yet the U.N. yawns, the media ignores, and protesters don’t seem to have it in them to scream “fascist”.

  39. Scott Thong Says:

    Any suggestion?

  40. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

Scott’s report is better than Israel’s media ! Palestine grabs Israel’s land..!

Why Hitler Nazi killed those good Jews in Germany? I don’t know exactly.

Jews were the people who killed prophets sent to mankind. They were also who tried to put Muslims’s Prophet Isa alaihissalam (Jesus pbuh) on the cross. But our friends of the Christian faith around world can be intimated friends with Jews anytime..but not Muslim…this single piece thing, I PERSONALLY wonder why. And..Old Testament (Torah) was supposed to be Moses’s scripture for his people of his time… it is also Christians’ part of compilation they called “Bible”. Perhaps believe is that makes us differentiate in many core issues.

To avoid bias, I think we should count the facts. One fact is that Palestine grab and confiscate Israel’s land including Jerusalem ??
Damned on the Palestinians for such greedy act..with the help of British and American in 1948.

  41. hutchrun Says:

“Damned on the Palestinians”….the english apart, I can only agree with the sentiment.

  42. Scott Thong Says:

The past should be left as the past. It will be impossible to count back 50 years, 100 years, 200 years, 2000 years of history and see who has to pay whom back among the Jews, Palestinians, Arabs, Ottomans, Romans…

The parties involved should work towards an agreement based on the present. However, many parties do not wish to see Palestine and Israel at peace side by side – including Hamas which controls Gaza.

  43. hutchrun Says:

    http://jewishrefugees.blogspot.com/

  44. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

I agree. Many nations in the world could live, and have been living at peace side by side, but with Israel, Hamas, Fatah and PLO this cannot be done. Making peace treaty by treaty won’t help if anyone/any party of them do not respect the treaty. Things become more difficult if the ‘mediator’ for peace deal is not serious enough..or not sincere.

  45. wits0 Says:

    “Damned on the Palestinians”

They already did it to themselves from their default jihadist ideology that fed from hate, greed, delusion, ignorance and inseparable supremacist hubris.
