The Real Story Behind Israel’s Attack on the ‘Unarmed Aid Convoy’

(Here’s a detailed list of facts regarding the Gaza Flotilla. On a tip from hutchrun.)

UPDATE 10 JUNE 2011: Confirmed at last, the ‘peaceful humanitarians’ on Mavi Marmara had guns! Via Jihad Watch, from HonestReporting Backspin, taken from the ‘peace acitivists’ own cameras:

The photos strengthen Israel’s argument that one of the commandos was wounded by a 9 mm bullet, a kind not used by the IDF.

—————————–

UPDATE 3 MAY 2011: IHH, the sponsor and organizer of the Mavi Marmara, has been declared a terrorist organization and had its funds blocked by the Dutch!

—————————-

UPDATE 29 MARCH 2011: Still don’t believe that the Mavi Marmara was full of murderous thugs?

Turkish media Photo of the Year is of brutally stabbed Israeli soldier aboard ‘peace’ flotilla!

The picture of a bleeding IDF soldier aboard the Marmara won Turkey’s 2010 Photo of the Year Award in the News category; the contest was held by the Turkish photojournalism association.

The photograph shows a beaten up IDF soldier with his face and head bloodied while three Marmara passengers grab him and twisting his arm.

UPDATE JAN 2011: Flotilla organizers admit their main goal is to help fight Israel! So much for peaceful humanitarian aid!

From News Real Blog:

“We [IHH] represent Turkey, and our interest and goal is not to feed the Palestinian people and bring them food, but to help them stand on their feet in face of the occupation’s oppression and support them in confronting their enemies.

————————–

Jews are accused of many things, but seldom are they ever accused of stupidity.

So why do you think they would open fire on ‘unarmed peaceful civilians’ and risk major diplomatic hassle?

Occam’s Razor, my friends… They weren’t exactly unarmed or peaceful.

At the very least, this isn’t exactly your standard humanitarian apple-peeler destined for some oppressed Palestinian housewife’s kitchen:

From Gateway Pundit and commenter cerberus as well:

Prominent activists in the Yemeni flotilla delegation were three MPs from the Al-Islah party, an Islamist party that is close to the Muslim Brotherhood. One, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hazmi, was photographed on the deck of the Mavi Marmara brandishing his large curved dagger.

Via The Jawa Report:

Via Moonbattery:

Via The Jawa Report, Turkish media releases photo evidence of Israeli commandos BRUTALLY ATTACKING helpless and peaceful convoy aid workers:

Uh… Oops, I mean the other way around, sorry.

PEACEFUL I SAY!!!!!!!!!

It gets worse… Via The Jawa Report, Reuters re-used the photos, but cropped them to hide the bloody and violent evidence of ‘peace’. As pointed out by Little Green Footballs here:

And here

Instant comparison (click images if no animation):

And:

Keep that in mind next time someone says that the Western media is unabashedly pro-Israel.

And LGF also does a zoom-in that shows just how bloody the knife attack was, as well as revealing another victim in the background:

As it turns out, the photos were cropped by a Turkish journalist tied to the IHH (the terrorist organization responsible for the vessel). Inadvertent, eh?

And is good buddies with violent terrorists (as if we didn’t already know that):

Reuters admits to the cropping, but flabbergastingly denies any motive:

Reuters on Tuesday denied it intended to alter the political meanings of the photographs.

“When we realized that a dagger was inadvertently cropped from the images, Reuters immediately moved the original set as well.”

Wow, what an incredibly coincidental ‘inadvertent’ cropping! Just so happens to be just enough to perfectly hide the knife!

Keep in mind, these photos were taken by the oh-so-proud convoy members, and released by the oh-so-joyous Turkish media. They are not Israeli propaganda fakes.

On a tip from commenter guppy, from Hartal MSM:

The average Malaysian reading Sniveling Star and Utusan would be utterly surprised to learn that instead of readily publicizing the photos which would have proved that their commandos were attacked, the Israeli army command initially tried to prevent the video footage being seen.

Why? The reason they did so was because they feared that the morale of their troops would be affected. After all, the world has become accustomed to imagery of the Israelis always being on top of the game.

One reaction from the horrified Israeli public back home was that their boys were being lowered by rope “like guppies into a pond of sharks”.

And via Gateway Pundit, some terrorist organization marked peaceful slingshots:

Makes sense, when 40 of the flotilla members are also Al Qaeda members:

In a special meeting of the Security Cabinet it was disclosed that a group of 40 people on board the Mavi Marmara with no identification papers belong to Al Qaeda. The terrorists were equipped with bullet proof vests, night-vision goggles, and weapons.

From Ace of Spades HQ:

The IDF just released the names of terrorism-linked “peace activists” captured on the Mavi Marmara.

Fatimah Mahmadi (born 1979), is a United States resident of Iranian origin, and an active member of the organization “Viva Palestine”, she attempted to smuggle forbidden electronic components into the Gaza Strip.

Ken O’Keefe (Born 1969), an American and British citizen, is a radical anti-Israel activist and operative of the Hamas Terror organization. He attempted to enter the Gaza Strip in order to form and train a commando unit for the Palestinian terror organization.

Hassan Iynasi (born 1982), a Turkish citizen and activist in a Turkish charity organization, is known of providing financial support to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Terror organization.

Hussein Urosh, a Turkish citizen and activist in the IHH organization, was on his way to the Gaza Strip in order to assist in smuggling Al-Qaeda operatives via Turkey into the Strip.

Ahmad Umimon (born 1959), is a French citizen of Moroccan origin, and an operative of the Hamas Terrorist organization.

On a tip from commentor Latma, listen as IHH leader Bulent Yildirim clearly instructs ‘peace activists’ on the Mavi marmara to throw Israeli soldiers overboard, with an Egyptian member of parliament on the far side who gets the crowd going:

Listen to how peaceful the aid convoy is:

In response to a radio transmission by the Israeli Navy warning the Gaza flotilla that they are approaching a naval blockade, passengers of the Mavi Marmara respond, “Shut up, go back to Auschwitz” and “We’re helping Arabs go against the US, don’t forget 9/11″

No wonder… The imam who wants to build a giant mosque next to the site of 9/11 is linked to the flotillas:

The imam behind a proposed mosque near Ground Zero is a prominent member of a group that helped sponsor the pro-Palestinian activists who clashed violently with Israeli commandos at sea this week.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is a key figure in Malaysian-based Perdana Global Peace Organization, according to its Website.

Perdana is the single biggest donor ($366,000) so far to the Free Gaza Movemen, a key organizer of the six-ship flotilla that tried to break Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-run Gaza Strip Monday

From Washington Post:

But there was no fighting with those people, or with five of the six boats in the fleet. All of the violence occurred aboard the Turkish ferry Mavi Marmara, and all of those who were killed were members or volunteers for the Islamic “charity” that owned the ship, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).

The relationship between Mr. Erdogan’s government and the IHH ought to be one focus of any international investigation into the incident. The foundation is a member of the “Union of Good,” a coalition that was formed to provide material support to Hamas and that was named as a terrorist entity by the United States in 2008. In discussions before the flotilla departed, Turkish officials turned down offers from both Israel and Egypt to deliver the “humanitarian” supplies on the boats to Gaza and insisted Ankara could not control what it described as a nongovernmental organization.

Mr. Erdogan’s crude attempt to exploit the incident comes only a couple of weeks after he joined Brazil’s president in linking arms with Mr. Ahmadinejad, whom he is assisting in an effort to block new U.N. sanctions. What’s remarkable about his turn toward extremism is that it comes after more than a year of assiduous courting by the Obama administration, which, among other things, has overlooked his antidemocratic behavior at home, helped him combat the Kurdish PKK and catered to Turkish sensitivities about the Armenian genocide. Israel is suffering the consequences of its misjudgments and disregard of U.S. interests. Will Mr. Erdogan’s behavior be without cost?

Pictures of Weapons Found on the Mavi Marmara Flotilla Ship, 31 May 2010 – They used knives, metal rods, firebombs and other weapons to attack the soldiers.

Versus Israelis, many of whom were armed with guns… Paintball guns! (Via Michelle Malkin)

IDF Forces Met with Pre-Planned Violence when Attempting to Board Flotilla, 31 May 2010 – The Israel Navy requested the ships to redirect toward Ashdod where they would be able to unload their aid supplies which would then be transferred over land after undergoing security inspections.

During the boarding of the ships, the demonstrators onboard attacked the IDF Naval personnel with live fire and light weaponry including knives and clubs. Additionally one of the weapons used was grabbed from an IDF soldier. The demonstrators had clearly prepared their weapons in advance for this specific purpose.

Two of the soldiers are moderately wounded and the remainder sustained light injuries.

Reports from IDF forces on the scene are that it seems as if part of the participants onboard the ships were planning to lynch the forces.

The interception of the flotilla followed numerous warnings given to the organizers of the flotilla before leaving their ports as well as while sailing towards the Gaza Strip. In these warnings, it was made clear to the organizers that they could dock in the Ashdod sea port and unload the equipment they are carrying in order to deliver it to the Gaza Strip in an orderly manner, following the appropriate security checks. Upon expressing their unwillingness to cooperate and arrive at the port, it was decided to board the ships and lead them to Ashdod.

IDF naval personnel encountered severe violence, including use of weaponry prepared in advance in order to attack and to harm them. The forces operated in adherence with operational commands and took all necessary actions in order to avoid violence, but to no avail.

Close-Up Footage of Mavi Marmara Passengers Attacking IDF Soldiers, 31 May 2010 – Large groups of passengers surrounded soldiers and beat them with metal poles and chairs, and threw one soldier over the side of the ship. Some passengers grabbed pistols from the IDF soldiers and opened fire.

And as hutchrun tips off in the comments, a video uploaded by LetsFreeGaza:

Lest anyone believe that the ‘peace activists’ had peaceful intentions, this video is entitled “Beating the hell out of Israeli commandos’ and the person who posted it writes, “See how we attacked them as soon as they landed on deck! Look closely, we decked one of them with a crowbar!”

Compare from Doug Ross:

Via The Jawa Report, the ship was stocked with hired mercenaries well trained in killing:

Looking to his side, he saw three of his commanders lying wounded – one with a gunshot wound to the stomach and another with a gunshot wound to the knee. A third was lying unconscious; his skull was fractured by a devastating blow with a metal bar.

The attackers had already seized two pistols from the commandos, and fired repeatedly at them. Facing more than a dozen of the mercenaries, and convinced their lives were in danger, he and his colleagues opened fire, he said. S. singlehandedly killed six men. His colleagues killed another three

When I hit the deck, I was immediately attacked by people with bats, metal pipes and axes,” S. told the Post. “These were without a doubt terrorists. I could see the murderous rage in their eyes and that they were coming to kill us.

Based on preliminary results of its investigation into the navy’s takeover of the Mavi Marmara, which ended with nine dead passengers and more than 30 wounded, the IDF said on Thursday that the commandos were attacked by a well-trained group of mercenaries, most of whom were found without IDs but with thousands of dollars in their pockets.

The group was well trained and was split into a number of squads of about 20 mercenaries each distributed throughout the upper deck, the IDF said. All of the mercenaries wore gas masks and ceramic bulletproof vests and were armed with either bats, slingshots, metal bars, knives or stun grenades.

The IDF’s understanding is that the mercenaries mainly chose dual-purpose items of this sort rather than guns, since opening fire would have made it blatantly clear that they were terrorists and not so-called peace activists.

Nevertheless, the IDF suspects that the group did have some guns of its own. Israeli forensic experts who examined the ship found casings belonging to a weapon that was not used by the commandos, and the Turkish captain of the ship later told the IDF that the “mercenaries” threw their weapons overboard after the commandos took control of the vessel.

T. said he realized the group they were facing was well-trained and likely ex-military after the commandos threw a number of stun grenades and fired warning shots before rappelling down onto the deck. “They didn’t even flinch,” he said. “Regular people would move.”

In contrast to earlier reports, the commandos said that they began using their weapons within a minute and a half after boarding the ship, due to the extreme violence they faced. One of the reasons S. pulled out his gun right after landing on the ship was because one of the mercenaries was pointing a pistol, snatched from one of the commandos, at another commando’s head.

Gateway Pundit also has info on the mercs, who were trained in Afghanistan and Pakistan like most good little jihadist suiciders:

The officer, quoted in the Hebrew newspaper Maariv on Sunday, claimed, “These men were trained in camps in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia and Bulgaria. We are talking about more than fifty persons in their thirties, very strong, dressed in bullet-proof vests, and equipped with night-vision goggles, masks and protective clothing.” According to the unnamed officer, blank cartridges of US origin but different to those used by Israeli forces were found on the Turkish ship when it was hijacked by Israel last week.

From The Jawa Report, summary of evidence:

“IHH Preparations for a Violent Confrontation with IDF Soldiers Aboard the Turkish Ship Mavi Marmara”.

1. An initial analysis of statements taken from passengers aboard the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara after it was towed to the port of Ashdod show that operatives belonging to the radical Islamic Turkish IHH1 led the violent confrontation with the IDF.

2. The statements confirmed that the violence met by the IDF soldiers was not spontaneous but rather an organized, premeditated action carried out by a hard core of 40 IHH operatives (among the 500 passengers). The operatives, who acted according to a clearly-defined internal hierarchy, boarded the ship in the port of Istanbul without undergoing a security inspection (as opposed to the other passengers, who boarded in Antalya after a full inspection).

3. The IHH operatives’ preparations included handing out walkie-talkies as they boarded the ship, taking over the upper deck, setting up a situation room for communications, and a briefing given to the operatives two hours before the confrontation by IHH head Bülent Yildirim, who was on board the ship and commanded his men. IHH operatives wore ceramic vests and gas masks, and were armed with large quantities of cold weapons which they had prepared from equipment found on board (knives, axes, metal cables, metal pipes used as clubs, wrenches, etc.). They were also equipped with box cutters which had been prepared on the upper deck in advance.

On a tip from cerberus:

Facebook Meets the Flotilla

Gaza is under the malicious and cynical rule of a terror organization sworn on Israel’s destruction, that is holding an Israeli soldier captive in contravention of all international treaties, and that oppresses its own population while even Palestinian witnesses there acknowledge that there is no food shortage. Given Hamas’ military objectives, Israel would be crazy not to check what’s going in. But Israel had already pledged to pass on any humanitarian goods after they were inspected, and told the boats the same thing. So, no, I don’t think that the idea of stopping the boats was misguided.

What we know is that on five of the ships, the commandos (among them friends of our kids, by the way) boarded the boats, and there was no resistance and no fighting.

On one boat, however, the first soldiers to land on the boat were attacked with metal rods and knives. There’s video of it. It’s playing all over Israeli and all over the internet. In some cases, soldiers’ weapons were stolen and used against them. One was stabbed, apparently in the abdomen. Another was tossed from a desk and trampled when he landed. There were a handful of commandos there, and 600 “peace activists.” On Israeli news tonight, the soldiers on helicopters taking them to the hospital were interviewed. They descended the ropes, they said, planning to talk the “activists” into going to Ashdod. Their weapons were not in their hands, but strapped to their backs. “We went into war,” one in his 30’s said bitterly tonight, “and all we had were toys.” They were beaten, trampled, shot (yes, there were bullet injuries) but only after forty minutes of combat did they resort to live five. They were going to get lynched if they didn’t fight back, they said.

Via The Jawa Report:

The Navy commandos were prepared to mostly encounter political activists seeking to hold a protest, rather than trained street fighters. The soldiers were told they were to verbally convince activists who offer resistance to give up, and only then use paintballs. They were permitted to use their handguns only under extreme circumstances.

The commander approved it: You can go ahead and fire. The soldiers pulled out their handguns and started shooting at the rioters’ legs, a move that ultimately neutralized them. Meanwhile, the rioters started to fire back at the commandos.

“I saw the tip of a rifle sticking out of the stairwell,” one commando said. “He fired at us and we fired back. We didn’t see if we hit him. We looked for him later but couldn’t find him.” Two soldiers sustained gunshot wounds to their knee and stomach after rioters apparently fired at them using guns wrested away from troops.

Here’s video of the ‘peace activists’ gearing up for battle far in advance:

Flotilla Rioters Prepare Rods, Slingshots, Broken Bottles and Metal Objects to Attack IDF Soldiers

And since when have bulletproof vests and rifle scopes been considered vital humanitarian supplies?

And those Molotov cocktails, flares and gas masks must be for the fancy dress party cum Grateful Dead concert later tonight.

Via Gateway Pundit:

“They wielded clubs, axes and knives,” he said.

“We knew they were peace activists,” he said. “Though they wanted to break the Gaza blockade, we thought we’d encounter passive resistance, perhaps verbal resistance – we didn’t expect this. Everyone wanted to kill us. We encountered terrorists who wanted to kill us and we did everything we could to prevent unnecessary injury.”

R said that some 75% of the people in the vessel resisted violently, “each one with a knife in his hand.”

Via Gateway Pundit:

According to the French intelligence, the president of IHH (Bulent Yildirim) recruited “Jihad warriors” and transferred firearms, and explosives to Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists organizations. IHH has also been fingered for producing documents so Islamic terrorists can travel by air posing as relief workers. And IHH was involved with the terrorist who tried to smuggle 1320 pounds of explosives to be used to blow up Los Angeles International Airport.

Meanwhile, a clue as to whether the flotilla was about sending aid, or making Israel look bad yet again – Hamas Stopping Transfer of Aid to Gaza.

This photo and caption points out the real motives behind the flotilla nicely:

As Mark Steyn puts it:

The lesson of a Jewish cemetery
MARK STEYN: The ‘sanctity’ of this burial ground in Tangiers speaks volumes

North Korea sinks a South Korean ship; hundreds of thousands of people die in the Sudan; millions die in the Congo. But 10 men die at the hands of Israeli commandos and it dominates the news day in, day out for weeks, with UN resolutions, international investigations, calls for boycotts, and every Western prime minister and foreign minister expected to rise in parliament and express the outrage of the international community.

Contest! $100 to anyone who can explain why the Kurds don’t deserve a state:

1) There are 35 million Kurds, as opposed to perhaps six million Palestinian Arabs by the broadest definition;
2) The Kurds are an ethnic group distinct from Turks, Arabs, or Persians;
3) Perhaps 40,000 Kurdish militants have died at the hands of Turkish security forces during the past twenty years battling against Turkey for an independent Kurdish state;
4) The Kurds speak a distinct language and have a distinct culture;
5) Saddam Hussein killed up to 300,000 Iraqi Kurds, including by poison gas attacks on civilians;
6) The Iraqi Kurds have governed themselves successfully in northern Iraq since Saddam Hussein was overthrown by the American-led coalition in 2003.

More comparison via Moonbattery:

It is not about “occupied land,” given the millions of square miles worldwide that are presently occupied, from Georgia to Cyprus to Tibet. It is not a divided capital — Nicosia is walled off. It is not an overreaction in the use of force per se — the Russians flattened Grozny and killed tens of thousands while the world snoozed. And it cannot be the scale of violence, given what we see hourly in Pakistan, Darfur, and the Congo. And, given the Armenian, Greek, and Kurdish histories (and reactions to them), the currently outraged Turkish government is surely not a credible referent on the topic of disproportionate violence.

Via The Jawa Report, here’s what the organizer of the flotilla says is the real aim of the convoy:

Bülent Yildirim, the main organizer of the Gaza Flotilla, explained at a Hamas rally in Gaza that the operation was no humanitarian effort but part of a global Jihad to overthrow governments and install Islamist dictatorships. He made no secret of that fact, as shown in the MEMRI translation and video.

Keep in mind as you read this that his group originated the project and was the main funder, that his followers controlled the biggest ship, and that they were most of those who attacked the Israeli soldiers.

Hahaha! Israelis point out the Turkish hypocrisy with a planned aid flotilla to Turkey, on tip from commenter Priceless:

Students plan counter-flotilla
Flotilla organized to aid Turkey’s oppressed Kurds, Armenians; show up world’s hypocrisy after sharp criticism of Israel’s raid on Gaza flotilla

“It’s absurd that they always put the Israeli occupation in the headlines and don’t talk about extreme Islamic terror. There’s a lot of hypocrisy in the world.

“Turkey, which leads the campaign against Israel and makes all sorts of threats is the same Turkey that carried out a holocaust and murdered an entire nation of Armenians, and oppresses a minority larger than the Palestinians – the Kurds – who deserve a state, who have demanded a state for longer than the State of Israel has existed.”

“For this reason,” he continued, “we have decided to help that minority and show up the hypocrisy of the Turkish government. We are sure that they won’t care if we sent humanitarian aid. It’ll be a peace flotilla without the knives or stones that hurt IDF soldiers, without violence, which is intended for all those oppressed by the Turkish government.

“If (Prime Minister Recep Tayyip) Erdogan’s heart is where his mouth is, which we all know isn’t so, he has no reason to prevent the flotilla from arriving.”

Weaponry Overview and Footage of Mavi Marmara Passengers Preparing Weaponry

On a tip from trepan, a letter to the NYT from Israel’s ambassador to the United States:

An Assault, Cloaked in Peace

First, about 100 of those detained from the boats were carrying immense sums in their pockets — nearly a million euros in total. Second, Israel discovered spent bullet cartridges on the Mavi Marmara that are of a caliber not used by the Israeli commandos, some of whom suffered gunshot wounds. Also found on the boat were propaganda clips showing passengers “injured” by Israeli forces; these videos, however, were filmed during daylight, hours before the nighttime operation occurred.

Just as Hamas gunmen hide behind civilians in Gaza, so, too, do their sponsors cower behind shipments of seemingly innocent aid.

This is why the organizers of the flotilla repeatedly rejected Israeli offers to transfer its cargo to Gaza once it was inspected for military contraband.

In the recent past, Israeli forces have diverted nine such flotillas, all without incident, and peacefully boarded five of the ships in this week’s convoy. Their cargoes, after proper inspection, were delivered to non-Hamas institutions in Gaza. Only the Marmara, a vessel too large to be neutralized by technical means such as fouling the propeller, violently resisted. It is no coincidence that the ship was dispatched by Insani Yardim Vakfi (also called the I.H.H.), a supposed charity that Israeli and other intelligence services have linked to Islamic extremists.

The real intent of breaking the embargo is to allow rockets to be transported to Gaza from Hamas’s suppliers in Syria and Iran. Israel has already intercepted several such ships laden with munitions.

That would be completely in line with the usual Pallywood fakery and fauxtography we’ve come to expect.

Via Michelle Malkin, Tom Gross tells us what the media doesn’t report about Gaza:

Fancy restaurants and Olympic-size swim pools: what the media won’t report about Gaza

* While prominent Western media continue to lead their viewers and readers astray with accounts of a non-existent “mass humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza, fancy restaurants (video below) and an Olympic-size swimming pool open there

* Most Israeli towns don’t have Olympic-size swimming pools

* Many Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza live a middle class (and in some cases an upper class) lifestyle that Western journalists refuse to report on because it doesn’t fit with the simplistic story they were sent to write

* If you drop into the Roots Club in Gaza, according to the Lonely Planet guidebook, you can “dine on steak au poivre and chicken cordon bleu” (video, photos below)

* UN-run summer camp for Palestinian children burned to the ground for being “un-Islamic”; UN staff there threatened with murder; UN Security Council fails to react

*A part of the restaurant’s 12-page menu, which includes a wide range of meat, poultry and seafood dishes. The restaurant is popular with Gazans holding weddings and other celebrations, UN and NGO workers, and foreign journalists

* A Palestinian newspaper photo (May 18, 2010) shows Gazan children in the newly built Olympic-sized swimming pool which opened earlier this month, despite continuing claims by some Western journalists and NGOs that there are no building materials and a severe shortage of water in Gaza.

Over one million tons of humanitarian supplies were delivered by Israel to the people of Gaza in the past 18 months – that’s equal to nearly one ton of aid for every man, woman and child in Gaza.

The Jawa Report carries videos that reveal the IHH’s preparations on Mavi Marmara for violence against the Israelis regardless:

Via AoSHQ, a rumination from National Review Online:

If Israel Is Not Evil, the World Is in Big Trouble

Though Israel is a thriving liberal democracy for all its citizens — including the one citizen out of five who is Arab (83 percent of whom are Muslim) — and has an independent judiciary and an independent press, though it signed an agreement establishing an independent Palestinian state, and though it returned to Egypt every inch of the Sinai Peninsula, a land mass larger than Israel itself with major oil reserves, the world deems Israel a villain.

Though Hamas runs a theocratic police state based on torture and terror, though it recognizes no freedom of speech and no freedom for any religious expression outside of radical Islam, though it seeks to annihilate the Jewish state, and though its state-controlled media depict Israelis and Jews as worthy of death, the world sees Israel, not Hamas, as the villain.

If Israel is the decent party in its war with the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, and nearly all the world’s countries, nearly all the world’s media, and the United Nations are morally wrong, what hope is there for humanity? If the world’s moral compass is that broken, are we not sailing into a dark age?

Hahaha! Anti-Israel protestors FAIL:

Some 500 anti-Israel protestors arrived at the Oakland, California port early Sunday morning, hoping to block an Israeli ship from unloading its cargo. However, the ship did not arrive, and the crowd prevented workers from unloading a Chinese ship instead.

The Israeli ship arrived only at 6 PM, more than 12 hours after the protestors, but by that time most of the latter had left.

Excerpt from Gateway Pundit’s article on the Obama Administration’s response:

Days before the Gaza flotilla raid the Obama administration instructed Israel to use caution and restraint with the aid boats. They offered this advice knowing that the boats were loaded with radical Islamists. This advice put the Israeli soldiers in grave danger. They weren’t expecting what happened next.

So what was the reaction at the Obama White House to the attack on the Israeli soldiers? Well, they certainly didn’t stand up for Israel. In fact, they immediately told Benjamin Netanyahu to go back to Israel and not use the White House as a backdrop for his comments on the attack.

Meanwhile, you would never know that the ‘peace bringers’ were armed and dangerous from the Malaysian media.

The Star, no mention of activist weapons at all:

  • Former PM condemns Tel Aviv’s attack against aid flotilla – “I feel very angry that the Israelis have used force against unarmed people. I am sure the Israelis will say that these people are carrying weapons. That is ridiculous. The Israelis claim these people have sharp objects. I don’t know what is meant by sharp objects.

Maybe those are actually blunt objects, hence Dr. Drama M’s confusion.

O RLY? Then there must have been a fire sale at Ginsu. Or maybe it was a Handy Manny promo appearance for the kids.

  • Aid ship Rachel Corrie, with 6 M’sians, presses on to Gaza – “We would like to emphasise that this is a totally humanitarian exercise. There are no terrorist elements on board. The Israelis have no reason to attack this ship,” he said. There are just enough trucks coming in to barely prevent total starvation, and Egypt, complicit with the Israeli-US policy of blockading Palestinians, is building an underground steel wall to prevent people in Gaza from bringing in vitally needed supplies through tunnels, it says.

Yup, no terrorists whatsoever. Just completely ordinary folk who want to kill the Jews.

This is a ridiculous action on a non-combatant ship that carried no weapons. vHe rubbished claims by the Israeli authorities that those on the ships had sharp objects with them. “What do they mean by sharp objects? Knives or pencils?” he asked.
  • Shooting goes on despite white flag -Israel says the troops returned fire after they were attacked with live rounds, knives and clubs, but the organisers of the Gaza blockade busting bid insist the soldiers started shooting the moment they hit the deck.
  • British PM tells Netanyahu Israeli raid was “unacceptable” – Netanyahu, speaking in Ottawa before cancelling a planned visit to Washington to return to Israel, expressed “regret” over the loss of life but said Israeli troops had acted to “defend their lives.”

And that’s the best you get from NST – a comment from the Israeli PM that is totally isolated from any evidence or explanation that might lend weight to his opinion.

But true to form, the maverick Sun actually carries the other side’s view:

    • Bloodshed at sea as aid flotilla attacked – Israeli Trade Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer gave no details of what Channel 10 said were 14 to 16 deaths. But he told Israel’s Army Radio: “I can also understand … how soldiers are coming down and are set upon with batons and tools. “The moment someone tries to snatch your weapon, to steal your weapons, that’s where you begin to lose control.”
  • ——————————–

Day 2, The Star still carries only denials of weapons and attacks by the activists while photo, video and testimony evidence is flying around all over the Net (including the blog you are reading now):

    • 12 Malaysians among 124 Gaza-aid activists released by Israel (Update) – Ashwad in a televised interview shortly after his release said there had been no sharp objects as alleged by Israeli commandos who stormed the ship carrying relief supplies bound for the Gaza Strip. “People on board our ship were only using water to try to repel the commandos who were coming on to the ship. I did not see any sharp objects. Perhaps they were only the usual metal items that can be found on any ship,” he said.
    • MCA and Gerakan slam storming of aid ship – He pointed out that the activists were unarmed and if the Israelis had suspected the vessel of carrying ammunitions, they could have conducted a standard border security inspection.
    • Swedish author says flotilla highlights Gaza ills“We had no weapons. We were civilians. No one had a right to take over our ship,” he said, describing the chaos and fear as forces stormed the vessel he was aboard. “When one is faced with a totally masked elite force, you are just at a complete loss as to what to do,” he said.

And yet the flotilla convoy knew exactly what they planned to do lond in advance – ambush the Israelis and try and murder them.

And as close as you will get to the real motives behind the flotilla:

    • U.S. treads cautiously on Israel flotilla crisis – State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said the United States would push for an international role in the probe. “Turkey has a vital interest in this. Other countries have a vital interest in this,” he told a news briefing. A senior administration official, speaking on background, said the United States saw mistakes on both sides. “We believe that there was a good-faith effort to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. By the same token the organizers of the flotilla were clearly seeking a confrontation — and tragically they got one,” he said.

NST has a similar slant, while The Sun continues to drop hints:

    • Israel deports flotilla activists after world outcry – Israel had said it would deport 682 activists from over 35 countries, seized during the assault in which nine activists were killed on a Turkish vessel, but the police minister had said some might be prosecuted for assaulting Israeli marines.

    ——————————–

Day 3, The Star carries a front-page denial of any weapons used:

Even as an opinion piece admits that photo and video evidence of weapons exists, while throwing an equivalence red-herring to deflect attention back to his narrative:

    • Time to end the impunity (ALONG THE WATCHTOWER By M. VEERA PANDIYAN) – Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak had the audacity to claim that the flotilla organisers incited the assault and that the activists on board provoked the massacre by attacking the Israeli commandos first. As proof, the Israeli government uploaded on YouTube footage taken from a naval boat showing the passengers beating up Israeli troops with what looked like poles, and one soldier being pushed overboard. Another video showed the weapons that the activists used against the soldiers – knives, slingshots, stones in bottles, smoke bombs, metal rods, improvised sharp metal objects, sticks and clubs – supposedly found on board the ship. But there was no clip showing how soldiers shot the 19 activists in self-defence or any footage of the 60 or so injured.

He goes on to mock Israel’s claims that the convoy has terrorist ties (it does – see my info above) and use the usual Palestinian apologist tactic of condemning Israel’s response against Hamas as against a war crime, while not lifting even a pinky in condemnation of Hamas’ yearlong rocket barrage.

NST also sings the same tune:

    • It was pure hell – “There were no weapons. We were not armed and yet we were treated like criminals. Even criminals are not shot on sight.
    • UN: Israel must lift Gaza blockade – The Israeli army said the commandos resorted to force after they were attacked with sticks and stabbed as soon as they landed on deck. Organizers of the so-called “Freedom Flotilla” denied the military’s account, saying the soldiers began firing as soon as they landed… Israel is deporting more than 600 foreign activists whose accounts of the raid contradicted Israeli reports that its soldiers acted in self-defense.

While the Sun avoids any mention of or denial of weapons.

    ——————————-

In fact, the Sun on day 4 dares include this:

    • Gaza Aid Mission: “We will not be foiled,” says Mukhriz – Biden, when interviewed during the Charlie Rose show of the US Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) on Wednesday, defended Israel’s attack on one of the ships in the flotilla to prevent smuggling of weapons to Gaza and questioned the mission organisers’ insistence of sending the aid straight to Gaza.

See here for more on Joe Biden. He gets it:

“I think Israel has an absolute right to deal with its security interest. I put all this back on two things: one, Hamas, and, two, Israel’s need to be more generous relative to the Palestinian people who are in trouble in Gaza,” Biden said, according to a transcript of the interview, in which he went on to discuss Hamas’s control of Gaza:

“[The Israelis have] said, ‘Here you go. You’re in the Mediterranean. This ship — if you divert slightly north you can unload it and we’ll get the stuff into Gaza.’ So what’s the big deal here? What’s the big deal of insisting it go straight to Gaza? Well, it’s legitimate for Israel to say, ‘I don’t know what’s on that ship. These guys are dropping eight — 3,000 rockets on my people,'” Biden said.

    And NST includes this admission:

    • Rachel Corrie to break Israeli blockade to Gaza – The Irish activists on board insisted they would not accept diversion to an Israeli or Egyptian port, because their campaign was designed to challenge the naval blockade and Israel’s right to dictate what went into Gaza.

There you go, straight from the horses mouth – it’s not about aiding Gazans, it’s about seeking confrontation with Israel and opening up the way for rocket parts to freely reach Hamas.

    ——————————–

The Star, Dr M actually subtly admits that it’s not just Israel that has an ‘apartheid wall’ locking the Palestinians out and concerned about contrabrand being smuggled in:

    • Dr M: Gaza aid may need to be sent via land – “If Egypt opens it border with Raffah, they want to examine everything and every item that we take and that may cause delays, and also they may consider certain things as dangerous,” he said.

Why not condemn Egypt, a Muslim and Arab nation, for denying Gazans their basic needs? Cos the Egyptians aren’t stupid either, Hamas is more interested in bringing in weapons and explosives than food and clothing.

And again, note how no demonization of Egypt occurs:

      Thrilled to cross the border

When Hamas took control of the Gaza strip in 2007 – Israel and Egypt, which share a border with it and are anti-Hamas – decided to impose a siege on Gaza.

Cairo has said it will keep the Rafah gate open “until further notice”.

But it is not a complete opening as not everyone who wants to can go in or out.

At the Palestinian gate, too, only students, or those with medical problems and those who have the approval of the Egyptian security forces, are able to make their way across.

      KL to lobby OIC support

Malaysia wants the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) to speak in one voice and get Egypt to keep its Rafah border open so that aid can be sent to the Palestinians in Gaza.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said Malaysia was getting the views of OIC member countries, including Turkey and Jordan, on this possibility since Israel would not allow aid to be shipped to Gaza.

      ——————————–

      Baseless smears from The Star:

Activists say they did not expect Israel to release them early

“We have proof Israeli forces intended to kill when they boarded the Mavi Marmara. We captured three soldiers and found the list with pictures of those whom they intended to kill” : Life Line For Gaza Mission head Noorazman Mohd Samsuddin

Noorazman said the use of rubber bullets on others was just an excuse by the Israel authorities because “we have proof that they had actually targetted to kill a number of activists on Mavi Marmara.”

“I have proof that the Israeli forces had intention to kill. They already had a list of people whom they wanted to kill when they raided the ship.

“We captured three soldiers and, after searching them, found the list with pictures of those whom they intended to kill.

“Some of them are Turkish and international figures…very important figures to the world. We were not on the list. That is why we were not shot. We are just ordinary people. One Turk from the media who was killed, was on the list,” he said.

O RLY? What evidence do they provide that the pictures were ‘kill’ pictures? And not ‘arrest’ pictures? Could it be that those in the photos were known affiliates of Al Qaeda or Hizbullah – two illegal terrorist origanizations – as mentioned above in my post?

What kind of half-a$$ed, yellow journalism is The Star carrying out that its reporters didn’t even bother to ask that question?

      ——————————–

Oh wow, Malaysian supporting terror by paying off families of shaheed-seeking hired thugs:

Donations given to nine Turk families

The families of the nine Turks killed during the May 31 Israeli raid on Mavi Marmara have been given US$45,000 (RM149,378) by Malaysians.

She said the donations signalled Malaysians’ sympathy towards the families who lost their loved ones who were on a humanitarian mission bound for Gaza.

Also present were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and some of the volunteers who were on board Mavi Marmara.

Wait, can they still be considered volunteers if they were given wads of cash which were found on their lifeless, terrorist bodies?

      ——————————–

Tabik this guy and whoever got it printed:

      Monday June 7, 2010
It’s not just in war that things aren’t smooth sailing

IT IS heart warming to note that all 12 Malaysians on board the Mavi Marmara, part of a convoy of six vessels bound for Gaza with humanitarian aid for the Palestinians, have safely returned home.

Nevertheless, the unexpected attack on the ship by Israeli commandos and the consequent deaths of a number of volunteers are worthy of condemnation.

One wonders how this mission was planned and carried out without first considering the grave danger that our people would face, including possible attack by Israel in the open sea off Gaza, which has been under blockade since the last war in the Gaza Strip about a year ago.

Why were adequate safety measures not taken before the ship set sail for Gaza? Are we so naive as to assume it will be plain sailing all the way to the conflict-ridden territory?

We should not embark on such life-threatening missions in future before being very sure of accomplishing the task undertaken without loss of lives on our side, simply because it is not a combatant mission.

It may well be that for Israel it is a matter of survival in the wake of open hostility and declaration by Iran sometime ago that “Israel must be wiped out from the world map”.

Let’s hope and pray that peace would soon return to these war-torn territories of the Middle East with more meaningful negotiations between these hostile parties.

      ——————————–

The Star continues to report wholesale bullsh*t accounts such as this:

When silence can be a very powerful weapon
      By SHAHANAAZ HABIB
      From Amman

Early that morning, when Israel started shadowing the vessel that was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, the activists managed to send information out to the international press and other organisations before their radar and telecommunications lines were blocked.

When Israel unblocked their satellite phones a few hours later, frantic calls to the Rachel Corrie by the press and others went unanswered.

Shamsul Akmar, head of the Rachel Corrie delegation, said the decision not to pick up the phone was because they did not want Israel, which had been tapping their phone lines, to listen in on whatever they were saying.

“And we wanted the international community to get nervous about us.”

“It is the responsibility of the international community to state where they stand. So let them worry,” he said at a dinner hosted by Malaysian ambassador to Jordan for the six Malaysians on the Rachel Corrie which was seized by Israel on Saturday.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Rachel Corrie “a flotilla of peace activists” in stark contrast with the Mavi Marmara aid convoy, which he described as a “flotilla of hate organised by violent, terrorism-supporting extremists.”

Shamsul condemened this, saying Israel was trying to use the Rachel Corrie to justify its violent action against Mavi Marmara.

“What they did to Mavi Marmara is unforgivable. Israel came in at dawn, in darkness and in stealth.

“It was a cowardly attack on unarmed people on a humanitarian mission in international waters. It took a lot of courage for those on board to defend themselves,” he said.

The jerks on board wanted the world to think Israel had come in and slaughtered them, got that? It’s the world’s responsibility.

And terror apologists are still pushing that idiot claim that those on board Mavi Marmara were unarmed, when photo and video evidence exist all over the Net and it is becoming clearer that those ‘defending themselves’ were trained mercenaries.

      ——————————–

Dennis Ignatius of The Star seems to be completely ignorant of that thing called the Internet, where he could find better proof of violent intentions proudly posted by the ‘aid workers’ themselves:

    • In the rest of his hit piece, he totally neglects to mention the reason for Israel’s strikes on Gaza and blockade – because Hamas continually launches rockets at Israel, and launched MORE when Israel pulled out of Gaza in the first place.

But he is par for the course at The Star.

      —————————————–

The Star carries a piece by a Palestinian journalist that sheds some bad light on Hamas, but as usual finds a way to paint Israel as the real villains (by avoiding, yet again, any mention of the thousands of rockets that Hamas fired which caused Israel to invade Gaza in the first place):

Roller coaster ride for journalist in the face of turbulence
      By SHAHANAAZ HABIB
      From Egypt

Working as a journalist with Palestinians Without Frontiers, Mahmoud found himself in a difficult situation when Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007 as he was writing about the problems and clashes between Hamas and Fatah.

“Journalists can’t stop talking or writing and Hamas didn’t like my writings,” he said. When Hamas came after him, he packed his bags, left Gaza and sought political asylum in Spain.

But within a month after he left Gaza in November 2008, Israel launched a three week strike on Gaza and his heart ached for his family who were left behind.

He said since he left Gaza, Hamas had come after his family.

“They asked my wife to come in for interrogation and she was interrogated from 10am until 3am the next day.

“Another time they came and took away our mobile phone and my children’s computer,” he said.

Mahmud described Israel’s attack on the Gaza aid flotilla as a “big mistake”.

“Let all the people see who the real terrorists are. Are they Palesti-nians or Israelis,” he said.

Israel and Egypt have imposed an economic blockade on Gaza after Hamas, which won the elections – much to the dismay of the international community – took control of the area.

Although Mahmoud had to leave Gaza because of Hamas, he was against the siege.

“I think of the 1.5million living inside. If you can’t find a solution to a political problem, it is not good to punish 1.5million people for it,” he said.

Via Hartal MSM, who says “True, The Star couldn’t even muster one Bersih rally photo but when it comes to Israel-bashing it ladled out THREE editorial, some excerpts from Helen Ang laying bare the local media’s hypocrisy:

Umno heroes and ‘Star’ spear Israel

Aside from the Jerlun and Rembau MPs, other Dewan Rakyat members from both sides of the political divide have been unanimous in condemning Israel. Anti-Zionism is a full-consensus parliamentary endeavour … without any exception or abstention. Just imagine if our Parliamentarians could be as equally spirited, cohesive and co-operative on other social issues like eradicating poverty or abolishing ISA.

On June 6, The Star devoted not one, not two but three! entire editorial voices to castigate Israel in no uncertain terms. Yes, in a single day, The Star employed courageous, strong language never marshalled before for all our own homegrown efforts like Bersih, Hindraf and ‘Justice for Teoh Beng Hock’ combined.

Wrote FMT writer Joe Fernandez: “What would be Malaysia’s response if a foreign flotilla of ships, led by the Bruno Manser Foundation of Switzerland, were to head towards the Sarawak coast with 10,000 tonnes of medical and food supplies for the starving Penans?”

      —————————————-

Hah! Poke in the eye of the ISA-happy hypocrites!

From The Star 20 July 2010:

Govt should consider signing Rome Statute

IT is a surprise to read that we want to refer the Palestinian issue to the International Criminal Court (ICC) when we are not a member of ICC.

The international community signed the Rome Statute in 1998 which gave rise to ICC in 2002.

But Malaysia is not a signatory of the Rome Statute which means we are not a member of the ICC.

We are asking that Israel be referred to the ICC for their blatant violations against the Palestinians but since we are not a member of ICC, we are trying to use Turkey, which is friendly to Malaysia, to do it.

I think signing the Rome Statue will send a clear signal that we are serious about combating crimes against humanity such as genocide and war crimes and to seek justice for the victims.

      K T MARAN,

      Seremban.

      —————————————–

And as you continue to follow these reports, bear in mind several things:

      1. Malaysian media is well known to be heavily and blatantly slanted against Israel, whether freely or coerced into it. Do you think you can get the real story from them?

      2. Even international media can be slanted against Israel to the point of ignoring clear evidence. Check the details and decide for yourself no matter the source. Sarah Palin thinks the same.

      3. Despite the ‘inhumane Israeli blockade’ (first three links here), somehow Hamas manages to bring in enough materials to build and fire 10 rockets a day at Israel and immerse themselves in blue paint and 3D cinema. On a tip from hutchrun, see what ‘oppressed apartheided Palestine’ looks like:

      4. Israel showed tremendous restraint during the most recent attack on Gaza, carefully targeting only armed militants – while Hamas fighters hid in schools, hospitals, mosques, and behind human shields. Do you really think they would go to all that trouble only to throw it all away shooting international aid workers for fun?

      5. Speaking of aid workers, is it a given that these supporters of the Palestinians are automatically peaceful folk? Check out these photos of other Palestinian-aligned people and tell me what you think afterwards.

    Let’s go to the videotape.

Anyone still doubt these useful idiots were looking for a confrontation to create ‘martyrs’?

By the way, the comments to this video are surprisingly good (at least the ones that I saw):

Look closely. The second attacker is wielding a knife and stabbed the soldier twice. Very nice peace activists.

In just 50 years, almost a million Jews, whose communities stretch back up to 3,000 years, have been ‘ethnically cleansed’ from Arab countries. These refugees outnumber the Palestinian refugees two to one, but their narrative has all but been ignored. Unlike Palestinian refugees, they fled not war, but systematic persecution. Seen in this light, Israel, which absorbed most of these Jewish refugees, is the legitimate expression of the self-determination of an oppressed indigenous, Middle Eastern people.

Whatever it was the israelis shouldn’t invade the ship in the first place. The activists have rights to protect their ship. They were in international waters and not even an inch into israel territory. They didn’t harm anybody instead the israelis were the one who came with battleships, machine guns, helicopters and whatnot. This was an act of provocation by the israelis and then they blame the activists for attacking them. That’s how it works every time.

Jonathan Schanzer reports that the people behind the flotilla of fools knew in advance that there was no way that Israel would allow them to enter Gaza. That’s because the people behind the flotilla have been designated terrorists by Israel and the United States.

“The Turkish IHH (Islan Haklary Ve Hurriyetleri Vakfi in Turkish) was founded in 1992, and reportedly popped up on the CIA’s radar in 1996 for its radical Islamist leanings. Like many other Islamist charities, the IHH has a record of providing relief to areas where disaster has struck in the Muslim world.

However, the organization is not a force for good. The Turkish nonprofit belongs to a Saudi-based umbrella organization known to finance terrorism called the Union of Good (Ittilaf al-Kheir in Arabic). Notably, the Union is chaired by Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, who is known best for his religious ruling that encourages suicide attacks against Israeli civilians. According to one report, Qardawi personally transferred millions of dollars to the Union in an effort to provide financial support to Hamas.”

    As AoSHQ puts it:

About this whole “international waters” bit that the activists are bleating about, it doesn’t make a difference where the ships were seized.

Even assuming that the activists are correct and that the ships were taken in international waters, there’s no “safe” spot for blockade runners. Israel has no duty to wait until its own waters are breached, not when the blockade runners have announced their intentions and set sail.

Israel gave the activists every opportunity to turn aside, both before they assembled and after the made a run for the blockade. The activists aren’t bothering to pretend that they were planning to do anything other than challenge the Israeli blockade. They can hardly complain when the Israelis take them at their word.

Maybe something wrong with your thingking Scott. You praised the robbers/ intruders instead of the peace activists.

Israel is an illegal contry. But some people including British and America made it “legal”. When these two country made it “legal” in 1948 1nd 1967…then any illegal things will “automatically” become legal ?.

  31. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

Isn’t that ashamed for commandos to attack unarmed civilians ? Heroic act?

    What logical fallacy is this?

  33. cerberus Says:

It’s the Jews. No one cares when Muslims are killed by other Muslims. Millions of Muslims have been killed by other Muslims over the last few years (think Darfur, Somalia, Algeria and yes, Iraq). But if even one Muslim is killed by a Jew, that makes the headlines.

Israel will use more aggressive force in the future to prevent ships from breaking the sea blockade on the Gaza Strip, a top Navy commander told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.

“We boarded the ship and were attacked as if it was a war,” the officer said. “That will mean that we will have to come prepared in the future as if it was a war.”

The anonymous comment came the day after the Israeli Navy raided a flotilla of international aid ships headed to the Strip. Nine activists were killed in the raid, and dozens were injured.

The flotilla which arrived late Sunday night was comprised of six ships, and another two ships, including The Rachel Corrie, were expected to attempt to enter Israeli waters in the coming days.
    http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=177134

I hope that if the ships get there, Israel will use more force.

International law is set by the United Nations. There are dozens of small Muslim nations with one vote each and that hate Israel simply because it is Jewish. There is one Israel with one vote. Sometimes these small Muslim nations break up, then they become two or more nations with one vote each. Tell me that this is not a broken system.

In any case, ‘international law’ was broken by six+ Arab nations in 1948. No punishment was meted out on them.

Maybe something wrong with your thingking Scott. You praised the robbers/ intruders instead of the peace activists.

I would rather compare them to thugs who keep telling me they are going to break into my house (i.e. Israel’s waters) as soon as I fall asleep. Should I sit there idly by, especially when the police ignore my pleas for assistance? (Remember, the UN peacekeepers left the Sinai when Egypt told them to, which led to the 1973 war. Yet another display of how useless and lacking moral authority the UN is.)

Israel is an illegal contry. But some people including British and America made it “legal”. When these two country made it “legal” in 1948 1nd 1967…then any illegal things will “automatically” become legal ?.

Not just America, but also 32 other nations: Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Belorussian SSR, Canada, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Sweden, South Africa, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, Uruguay, Venezuela, Haiti, Liberia, and Philippines. Britain abstained.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Partition_Plan_for_Palestine#The_vote

So it was really legal and agreed upon by the UN. Then the Arab nations unilaterally declared war, attacked, and LOST. So they didn’t give a damn about UN decisions then, but say that Israel is in violation of UN decisions now. Double standards.

In modern war, the aggressor is usually penalized. In old-fashioned war, the winner takes the loser’s land. Israel defeated the aggressors and claimed land. Modern Saudi Arabia was formed when the house of Saud conquered the lands beginning as recently as 1902. Nobody tells them they are an illegal state. So again, double standards apply.

And Israel is an artificial creation of the Colonials, what about Syria, Jordan, and every other Arab state in the region?

    http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2007/12/what-really-happened.html

    Again, double standards.

No..no.. the activists were wrong. The correct legitimate way to do is…when Israel commando attack you..you MUST kiss them and smile, kiss their hands and embrace them warmly…

Who will do that ? Who ?

The American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Their Rules of Engagement forced them to verify that the enemy carries weapons – all the enemy had to do was put down the weapons, and the American troops cannot fire. But nothing stops the enemy from picking up the weapons and shooting later, while the Americans come closer without shooting first.

    Israeli troops with Hamas.

Hamas and Hezbollah often hides behind women, children, mosques, schools, hospitals, ambulances. IDF troops often cannot fire on them in order to avoid civilian casualties.

The peace activists went against international laws for sending aid to the Palestinians. They should send it to Israel instead…

All Israel wanted to do was check the cargo for contrabrand (like the parts Hamas used to make and shoot 10 rockets per day despite ‘starvation’ and ‘lack of basic needs’). The convoy chose to power through instead of comply to such a simple and straightforward procedure. They probably intentionally wanted to make Israel look bad. Erdogan must be rubbing his hands in glee.

No, no…they brought those kitchen knives from their respective countries. That was illegal !!

The one I circle in yellow above is like no other kitchen utensil I have ever seen.

I’ll ask a simple question, please try and imagine it: What if Israel were a Muslim nation under sharia, and Palestinians were Christians? Would you care about that situation at all?

Malaysians hardly care about China/Tibet or Sri Lanka/Tamils or the historical religious division by the British into India/Pakistan (just like what happened to Israel/Palestine). Why is Israel/Palestine different? I dare say, simply because

    1. Israel is Jewish and so must be opposed
    2. Palestine is Muslim and so must be supported

All other so-called factors and excuses are secondary or even insincerely cited. The above two are the ONLY real reasons Muslim states care about this issue.

  38. cerberus Says:

    This one`s for terrorist trolls:

“The situation is that they’re so isolated right now that it’s not only that we’re the only ones who will stick up for them,” said an American official. “We’re the only ones who believe them — and what they’re saying is true.”

The official was referring to Israeli protestations — backed by Israel Defense Forces video — that their solders were attacked by passengers on a ship headed for Gaza with humanitarian aid, when they boarded the ship in what the Israelis concede were international waters.

  39. cerberus Says:

Lest anyone debate the intentions of the passengers on the flotilla of fools, here’s an al-Jazeera report from Saturday in which you will see the passengers on the flotilla of fools calling for the killing of Jews and preparing for ‘martyrdom.’

Anyone doubt the flotilla passengers wanted to kill Israeli soldiers on Monday? I didn’t think so.

  42. cerberus Says:

On one boat, however, the first soldiers to land on the boat were attacked with metal rods and knives. There’s video of it. It’s playing all over the internet.

  45. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

I’ll ask a simple question, please try and imagine it: What if Israel were a Muslim nation under sharia, and Palestinians were Christians? Would you care about that situation at all?

    “WHAT IF”.

If international communities acted based on “what if” (like what you imagine and think)…mankind would be in great danger, crazy, paranoiac or anything.. Not many people will make their decision based on “what if” (wrong suggestion/ perception). This is the problem something to do with prejudice, biases mind (…of course it has happened in the world maybe. It is wrong however).

Instead we should oppose any party that goes against international laws, be they Christians, Jews, Muslims or Bhuddists whatever.

What if, Israel is a Muslim nation DO YOU THINK YOU’LL STILL SUPPORT then ? Will you? (Pls answer this question to yourself, not me – then you’ll immediately know the answer !).

Your sentiments (probably like many people’s too..) is parochially based on religion, believe, race etc probably. If I were so..I won’t vote any Chinese politicians in Malaysia. But that was not the case. Because not all voters have that kind of thinking (racist or so..). I admit that. some Muslims are also believing like you too maybe. But that is wrong ! It shouldn’t be so.

That is the problem with us. If we were policemen, we SHOULD isssue summons also to our fathers caught of driving without a valid driving license. But that is not usually happened.

  46. Scott Thong Says:

What if, Israel is a Muslim nation DO YOU THINK YOU’LL STILL SUPPORT then ? Will you? (Pls answer this question to yourself, not me – then you’ll immediately know the answer !).

Excellent question, and I can say that YES, I would still support them if the facts add up. I admit I would be more hesitant to, but I hold to a policy of following the facts.

Note that nowhere have I condoned the Israeli troops use of live bullets – IMHO with the past experiences where their enemies use civilians as shields/attackers in order to make Israel look bad, they should have been expecting a trap and been armed with nonlethal weapons and gone in much larger groups. At least they had cameras ready to record the evidence. I am not above criticizing those whom I normally support, be they Israel, the USA, US Conservative leaders, Malaysia’s Opposition parties, etc.

I have changed my position on evolution (twice), global warming, absolute morality before. So if it turns out Jews really are out to control the world, I’ll admit so publicly.

In the meantime, I maintain that the Palestinians are being used – by Hamas, Fatah and the Arab nations – as tools and pawns to bring international criticism against Israel. The power players have no real interest in peace and prosperity for Palestinian civilians – instead they send suicide bombers and shoot rockets to provoke Israel to attack Gaza, hide behind civilians, refused to let Palestinians settle down (except for Jordan, which then was repaid with attempted violent overthrow by the refugees), seal the Egyptian border with Gaza, and worst of all Yasser Arafat who rejected a deal which would have given Palestinians their own state alongside Israel (while stealing donated money for himself).

If Israel is guilty of bloodshed, those ‘supporters of Palestine’ who are manipulating the Palestinians are equally guilty. Note that Hamas INCREASED its rocket attacks AFTER Israel withdrew from Gaza. What message does that send except that any concessions by Israel are pointless and self-harming?

“Peace will come to the Middle East when the Arabs start to love their children more than they hate us.” – Golda Meir, former Israeli Prime Minister

“We have discovered how to hit the Jews where they are the most vulnerable. The Jews love life, so that is what we shall take away from them. We are going to win because they love life and we love death.” – Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah

Perhaps this is better way to put it: Don’t assume every Palestinian is a true Muslim. For that matter, don’t assume every person who claims to be Muslim is a true Muslim. Question and weigh before you give your support.

For example, are Hamas acting according to Allah’s guidance and Mohammad’s example when they strap suicide belts to mentally retarded women? Or shoot/bomb a bus full of school children instead of harder to target soldiers?

By that same token, I am not afraid to fiercely criticize so-called Christians like Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Clinton who lie regularly and support free sex and abortion. I even criticize Conservatives like Mark Sanford who is totally unrepentant regarding his adultery. I condemn those Christians and Crusaders and Inquisitors throughout the ages who forcibly persecute others.

So-called Christian or not means nothing to me. Right and wrong do. So-called Christians who do wrong in fact deserve my extra condemnation.

Second coming of Christ in Islam:

After the completion of Fajr Salaat (congregational dawn prayers), Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will open the door behind him where Dajjal accompanied by 70,000 Yahudis (Jews) will be. He will indicate with his hand to move away between him (Hadhrat Isa (A.S.)) and Dajjal. Dajjal will then see Hadhrat Isa (A.S.). At that time every Kafir on whom the breath of Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will reach, will die. His breath will reach up to the distance of his eyesight. The Muslims will then come down from the mountains and break loose on the army of Dajjal. There will be war, Dajjal will retreat, and Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will pursue Dajjal.

Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) will have two flexible swords and one shield with him and with these he will kill Dajjal at the Gate of Hudd. He willl show the Muslims the blood of Dajjal which will get on his shield.

Eventually the Yahudis will be selected and killed. The swine will be killed and the cross broken. People will revert to Islam. Wars will end, and people will return to their respective countries. One Jamaat (group) of Muslims will remain in his service and companionship.

The stones and trees will say O Moslem’s, O Abdul la, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).” It explicitly uses the the phrase fayaqatalhum al-muslimun ie an exhortation for muslims to kill jews.

    To quote from that article:
“in a time of conflict, [a state] can impose an embargo, and while it cannot carry out embargo activities in the territorial waters of a third party, it can carry out embargo activities in international waters.”

“In addition: According to the San Remo Manual, it is permissible under rule 67(a) to attack neutral vessels on the high seas when the vessels “are believed on reasonable grounds to be carrying contraband or breaching a blockade, and after prior warning they intentionally and clearly refuse to stop, or intentionally and clearly resist visit, search or capture.””

So it appears Israel acted in accordance to international law after all.

I used to be against Israel in principle even though I had little sympathy for the Palestinians. So I can say with good conscience that my support of Israel is based on principles and not group identity. To add another twist to the story, when I was against Israel, I was a Christian. Now, as a non-Christian, I support Israel.

They continue to insist that it was a peaceful mission, unaware that there was a war-mongering mission within their peaceful mission.

Another comparison that could have been made is to Ehud Barak’s response to the first several months of the intifada – at which time he was tossed out of office.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has a decision to make: Does he want to respond ot Arab provocations like Barak and Olmert did, and get Israeli butts handed to Israel on a silver platter, or does he want to kick the Arabs’ butts like Ariel Sharon did until 2005?

  63. masada Says:

The fundamental deception here is the use of the word “humanitarian.” . . . Humanitarians don’t wield iron clubs, and [they] would have killed the Israelis had the Israelis not drawn their pistols in self-defense.

But there‘s a larger issue here. What exactly is the humanitarian crisis that the flotilla was actually addressing? There is none. There’s no one starving in Gaza. The Gazans have been supplied with food and social services, education, by the U.N., by UNWRA, for 60 years, in part with American tax money.

Second, when there are humanitarian needs, the Israelis allow — every day — food and medicine overland into Gaza. The reason that it did not want to allow this flotilla is because, as the spokesman for the flotilla said herself, this was not about humanitarian relief. It was about breaking the blockade.

And the reason the Israelis have a blockade is because they only want to allow humanitarian supplies and not weaponry. Look, the proof of that is the fact that if you look at a map of Gaza, you’ll see that Israelis only control three sides of this rectangle. There’s a fourth side on the Egyptian side. So it is an Egyptian-Israeli blockade.

The Egyptians have the same problem with Gaza. People accuse Israel of the blockade [saying it’s because] because they’re racist, they’re anti-Muslim, anti-Arab. The Egyptians are Muslim and Arab and they’ve gone to war three times on behalf of the Palestinians. So why do they have exactly the same blockade? Because Gaza is run by Hamas, a terror entity that wants to import weaponry and resume the war against Israel.

The man who made the announcement, explaining the commando raid is the defense minister of Israel. He‘s not a right-winger. He‘s not Likud. He’s Ehud Barak, who’s the leader of Labor, the party of Yitzhak Rabin, Golda Meir, the party of the left, and the man who ten years ago this summer offered the Palestinians a peace agreement that would have [provided] a Palestinian state, division of Jerusalem, and an end of the conflict.

The Palestinians said no. And Gaza two years ago declared war on Israel. That’s why you have a blockade. . . .

If these people had wanted humanitarian aid, Israel offered to take the ships into Haifa, peacefully, unload all the stuff inside and to allow all the humanitarian aid immediately into Gaza, all the food and medicine. And it was refused because it was meant to be a provocation and to create an incident.

‘Excellent answer’ for the ‘excellent question’ Scott! If Israel were a Muslim country and Palestine a Christian nation, you’ll support Israel also (ACCORDING TO YOU in response to my question). – Nasaei

I weigh things objectively. If a Palestinian Christian suicide bombed a synagogue, I would condemn him. If Bush invaded Saudi Arabia and converted the Kabaa into a megachurch, I would condemn him. (The latter is a parallel to the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Former site of the Jewish temple.)

Similarly, I don’t support the IRA nor The Lord’s Army – both of whom are ostensibly composed of ‘Christians’, but who targeted civilians as a first resort.

  68. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

“If” Bush invaded Iraq ?.. then he saves 700,000 Iraqis you said ? Did you condem?

Bush last time admitted, frankly he foud no mess destruction weopons there…

    (…but oil)

  69. Scott Thong Says:

Actually there were two big weapons of mass destruction. One was Saddam Hussein, the other was the United Nations. Together they killed far more Iraqis than Bush has directly or indirectly managed to, even up till now.

Bush is not known for his intelligence. He should have given ‘to stop Saddam and the UN’s genocide once and for all’ as his reason for invading Iraq, not WMDs. But the Democrat-filled Congress doesn’t care about Iraqi lives, only their own popularity – hence the effectiveness of citing WMDs.

Do I condemn Bush for invading Iraq? I don’t, because ultimately I think it saved far more lives than not invading indefinitely would. In fact, the ones I condemn are the terrorists from Iraq and all over the world who came to Iraq to ‘fight the Crusader imperialist Bush’.

If they hadn’t campur tangan, the majority of lives would not have been lost! Petraeus wouldn’t have sent 30,000 more troops to Iraq! Bush would have brought his troops back to America much earlier! Civilians in markets and mosques wouldn’t have been targeted by car bombs!

Do you condemn the terrorists? Not many here do. Which is another reason why I feel Islam/non-Islam is all that actually counts in their mind. Saddam killing hundreds of thousands of Muslims is okay, but if a non-Muslim gets a few thousand Muslims killed (by other Muslims planting bombs) it is an outrage – outrage against the non-Muslim, not the Muslim bombers!

98% of Al Qaeda’s victims are Muslims.

But when was the last time you heard a major Islamic leader or religious figure condemn Al Qaeda instead of Jews, Americans or British? They rather ban Facebook over drawings than bother convincing Al Qaeda that Islam does not teach blowing up other Muslims gains entry into paradise.

  70. najistongrosak Says:

The principles of the Hamas are stated in their Covenant or Charter, given in full below. Following are highlights.

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

“The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. ”

“There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

“After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying.”

  71. najistongrosak Says:

One of the most ominous aspects of the Charter however, is this Hadith:

Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).

The implication is clear: Allah promised that the Jews will be murdered, and the Hamas “aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take.”

  77. hutzpan Says:

To see the EXIF data, you go to the Flickr page where the photo is stored, and then click on the “more properties” link. And indeed, the datetime stamp is 2006.02.07 04:49:57

However, this doesn’t mean the photos were actually taken on that date and time. Cameras don’t synchronize their datetime settings with atomic clock server in London or something like that. You have to set the proper time and date on your camera yourself. Most photographers just don’t care.

At any rate, this date-stamp means nothing – one can manually edit it using any photo-editing software.

Another consideration: the sunrise time in Tel-Aviv today was at 5:35 am. The photo’s date-stamp says 4:50 and that’s February – in February at that time it would be pitch dark outside. This doesn’t look to me as a photo taken 40 minutes before sunrise. The items on the deck are perfectly lit, I’d say the shots were taken well after noon time.

Yet another consideration. All the photos on this flickr photo set have the date-stamp identical to that of this particular photo, give or take a couple of minutes. I find it highly unlikely that someone could have taken all these photos all the time back in 2006 February at 4:50 am and kept them just for this particular occasion.

  78. hutzpan Says:

There’s one good comment on the Flickr page re. this photo:

The photos were not taken in 06, good grief! People will believe anything they hear! The default clock setting for the Nikon camera that took these pictures is 2006-01-01. What must have happened was the person taking the pics changed the batteries 2 months ago and forgot to reset the clock!

“Really people! Do some research before you jump to conclusions! When would the IDF have just ‘happened’ to encounter a pile of bulletproof vests with the TURKISH (not medic) crescent on them 4 years ago, and just ‘happened’ to keep this pic (and all the other pics) kept away somewhere for just such a time as this? Let’s be real here!”

  79. hutzpan Says:

What the videos don’t show, however, are several curious aspects Israeli authorities are now investigating.

The cargo consists, among other things, of “various types of medicine (past their expiration date), clothing, carpets, hospital equipment and toys.”

By your same logic, Nobel-winning scientific papers are pushing a lie because they contain so much experimental procedure, proof and calculations. Debators who give more argument points are unconvinced of their position. A doctor who gives you ten reasons not to inhale radioactive, toxic, carcinogenic gases should be ignored while you breathe in some nice vaporised uranium.

Again by your same logic, therefore the Israelis are extremely in the right due to the massive amount of pro-Palestinian news coverage doing the rounds in TV, print and street demonstrations.

At least I provide evidence to back up my view, as opposed to the vast majority of pro-Palestinians who simply spout theirs without proof.

The ‘evidence’ posted is poor. I mean, kitchen knives, slingshots, ok a few sticks and defense knives. But come on… I’ve beem to football matches with far more armed support groups and the police manage to set riots apart accounting some bruises and nosebleeds.

You didn’t watch the videos of ‘peaceful activists’ attacking the Israelis, or the videos of ‘aid workers’ chanting death to Israel and shaheed (taken by themselves), nor did you watch/read the accounts of how the main purpose of the ship was to provoke Israel, not provide aid.

Even bare fists are deadly weapons if they are used in violence by twenty against one. The hired mercenaries intentionally used on-board items in order to portray Israel in bad light even as the soldiers lay bleeding from stab wounds.

Also, a picture of a knife with blood, or of any arm for that matter proves zero, I can go to butcher and take a picture of this used knives and say they were found wherever.

You didn’t notice that the bloody knife photos were taken by the ‘humanitarians’ themselves and used to gloatingly mock the Israelis in the Turkish press.

Iam the first one criticising extremist muslims to whom anything is an ofense. But i will not take the side of those who talk the same (or worse) language to them.

Zack, perhaps its my bias colouring my view… But based on past occurrences on fakery, media manipulation, and willingness to suicide themselves and collateral innocents in order to hurt Israel (remember that joke about the scorpion and the frog?), I lean towards distrusting any pro-Palestine reports from the get-go. 96. K-Da-Nife Says:

    Clean knife???

Assault is often defined to include not only violence, but any intentional physical contact with another person without their consent. In common law jurisdictions, including England and Wales and the United States, battery is the crime that represents the unlawful physical contact, though this distinction does not exist in all jurisdictions. Exceptions exist to cover unsolicited physical contact which amount to normal social behavior known as de minimis harm.

In most jurisdictions, the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (or its equivalent) may amount to the mental requirement to prefer a charge of murder in circumstances where the harm inflicted upon the victim proves fatal.
    -Wiki

Israel & hamas are in a state of war and Israel could have charged the terrorist “piss activists” for attempted murder….whether or not their knives were clean.

  97. Zack T Says:

Hahaha… K-Da-Nife, thanks for your input.

And yes, intention to murder is also as equally bad as actually murdering..

But my argument is that, the guy holding the knife (unrestrained from the photo), if he really had the intention, could’ve easily attacked and stabbed the subdued commando right there and then; and even kill him.
but he didn’t. From his posture, and how everyone else was standing in the picture… it doesn’t seem like these bunch were “ready to attack”, but merely observing this commando being ‘dragged'(?).

Pure speculation based on the photos, I know… just as you are speculating that all activists (including these ones) on the ship were violent and murderous people based on the video.

There are arguments that they were defending themselves instead, but I need more evidences… maybe the link earlier I gave helps.

Of the passengers, only a small fraction were trained and ready to attack the Israelis (no ID, wads of cash in their pockets, boarded at Ankara after the genuine volunteers had been security-checked, likely mercenaries). The other passengers may have joined in the ‘fun’ but never intended to kill anyone.

  99. Zack T Says:

Oh, that’s what you meant… Sure, go right ahead and post at the group, Scott. I believe I’ve sent you an invite before.

Aidors & Abettors. Accomplices. Murder propagators. Terrorists.

  101. wikd pedia Says:

At law, an accomplice is a person who actively participates in the commission of a crime, even though they take no part in the actual criminal offense. For example, in a bank robbery, the person who points the gun at the teller and asks for the money is guilty of armed robbery. However, anyone else directly involved in the commission of the crime, such as the lookout or the getaway car driver, is an accomplice, even though in the absence of an underlying offense keeping a lookout or driving a car would not be an offense.

  102. Zack T Says:

    Interesting…

Can’t I claim then, that the commando was being ‘dragged’ (still can’t really tell from the picture) to safety instead; away from the area where maybe the more violent retaliations were happening? Therefore, these ‘on-lookers’/’accomplices’ may very well just be doing what I said they were… observing.
And honestly, these on-lookers could very well be well-intended activists who had nothing to do with the violent attacks… much like hostages in a bank robbery.
And the guy holding the knife could very well be someone who had disarmed the commando and was holding the knife so no one else could use it on anyone. (There were some that were disarming commandos to prevent more shooting or killing –> http://www.infowars.com/passengers-grabbed-israeli-weapons-to-stop-the-killing/ )

Anyway… say my statement is false and these people were really murderous activists/terrorists… The photo shows the commando’s arms are ‘restrained’ (as well as his leg/s in another photo shot).. why didn’t the guy (holding the knife) got ready with his knife to stab the commando while his ‘comrade’ is restraining him?
I’d say, it’s very possible that the guy was ‘restraining’ the commando’s arms to prevent HIM from violently retaliating to the guy’s intention to help him. plausible scenario?

(Btw, does anyone have any news regarding Israel holding all these activists to be judged for their ‘violent’ protesting? I’ve only know about the report on the dead bodies and the autopsy, but not yet the legal actions on these ‘terrorists’..)

And might I add.. in this photo: https://scottthong.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/isralicommandosturkishflotilla2.jpg?w=450
Seems rather clear to me… the commando is being checked… like a doctor checking on an player that had just crashed and fell hard to the ground. e.g. “Can you see my finger? Follow my finger.”

Doesn’t look any way like “the guy’s down! Get him! beat him to a pulp!!!”
There wouldn’t be any need to kneel down over him, unless the guy wanted to have a nice close-up as he beats the ‘subdued’ commando; which then his hand posture doesn’t seem to imply that.

    Plausible explanation?

  103. Zack T Says:

btw, Scott… I’ve been wondering… Who’s the bearded dude you showed at the starting of the post?

Was he on the ship? cause, this is the only place I’ve seen the guy mentioned/shown/talked about.

And btw, the zoomed picture (of the knife and victim in background) you posted as well… I’m curious… who’s the victim? An Israeli commando? or one of the activists?

Cause, the sleeves, I noticed, is similar to an unbuttoned sleeve of a long-sleeved buttoned up shirt (the normal formal wear people would usually wear to work or presentations?)…
compare that with the sleeves of the commandos which are (i think) not sleeves rolled up to half the forearm… and even has a black patch at the end of the sleeve on one of the ‘restrained’ commandos.

Or am I mistaken and it actually is the arm of the commando ‘victim’ that is shown ‘restrained’ in the earlier pictures (including the ones with the ‘Hurriyet’ captions)…?

Mr Beard is Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hazmi, MP from the Al-Islah party, an Yemen Islamist party that is close to the Muslim Brotherhood (which is regarded as a terrorist organization by some, and took credit for assassinating then-Egypt PM Anwar Sadat for making peace with Israel – all adds up no?). He was on board the Mavi Marmara, which is where the photos were taken.

    Info is from MEMRI.

On the photos… Well, we really can’t tell what happened immediately after any of the ‘posed’ shots. “Quick dude, hold out your dagger all cool-like while I snap a photo. This’ll make a great Facebook profile!”

  106. Zack T Says:

“On the photos… Well, we really can’t tell what happened immediately after any of the ‘posed’ shots.”

Yet often such photos would be used to ‘incriminate’…
For all we know, Reuters may have deliberately crop out the knife… SO that someone will notice the crop… and then blame Reuters for being deceptive… and then somehow it proves that the Israelis were the victims, instead. (when no Israeli commandos are reported to have been killed, so far I’ve seen)

Oh ok.. thanks for the clarification.
Still… rather strange that this information is not well known or told over and over in the media… I’d figure they’d grab this piece of news and run away with it.
Especially those who will be more than happy to pin terrorism on Islam.

  107. Latma Says:

“Witness” to Flotilla “murders” now admits she actually wasn’t even on the boat

U.S. Army Col. (Ret.) Ann Wright, on a speaking tour of the United States on behalf of radical pacifist women’s group Code Pink, bills herself as an eyewitness to the IDF raid on the Mavi Marmara and what she termed the “murder” of “nine innocent civilians.” However, under pressure in an interview with Aaron Lerner of IMRA, she admits she did not actually see the clash between the IDF soldiers and the armed passengers on board the Mavi Marmara.

“I just returned from the Gaza Freedom Flotilla and started my speaking tour last night in NYC to share what I witnessed aboard the flotilla, and what people can do to end the siege. I witnessed the Israeli attack that killed 9 persons and wounded 50 on the Gaza Flotilla… the murder of nine persons… Tragically, it took another example of disproportionate use of force by the Israeli military that resulted in the deaths of nine innocent civilians to force many governments of the world to call for the Israelis to end the siege of Gaza.”

So Lerner presses her a bit and she finally admitted that she was not aboard the Mavi Marmara but on a different ship, the Challenger, which was about 150 yards distant from the Marmara. Now given that this raid took place at like the early hours of morning when it is utterly dark and the soldiers needed night-vision goggles (and surprise surprise many of those peace de-activists had them on too) the likelihood that she could see 20 odd feet in front of her is like nil much less 150 yards.

  108. Zack T Says:

Once again.. I stress… my honest opinion on the situation…
I’m not trying to disprove anything. I’m just saying there is more to the story than what’s constantly being told over and over by the mainstream media (or the majority).

Disagree with me or not. That’s for you to look into and decide.

I’m remaining neutral, though maybe I’m being bias (and feeling somewhat rebellious against the majority =P) and leaning more to the ‘Israeli is deploying false propaganda’.

And for those of you who know the bible and love God…. I’m not trying to go against God’s chosen land/people.. I am all for God, but I disagree with some of the actions of His people. (Jews killed Jesus Christ, and my belief, Jews will just as well be in the head of things during the End of Days when the ‘beast of the sea’ comes.)

  109. Latma Says:

In Best of the Web yesterday, James Taranto noted the truth about Furkan Dogan, who was killed aboard the Mavi Marmara:

Israel-haters are making much of the fact that one of the Turkish “humanitarians” killed last week while attempting to break Israel’s naval blockade of Hamas was a U.S. citizen. This, however, was by accident of birth: Furkan Dogan was born in Troy, N.Y., but his parents were Turkish and he grew up in Turkey.

“His brother, Mustafa, told the Turkish news media that he was ‘clean-hearted with a happy face,’ ” the New York Times reported Friday. But a report from the Middle East Research Institute says he was far from the all-American boy the Israel-haters are making him out to be. Memri quotes Hussein Orish of IHH, the Turkish outfit that instigated the flotilla:

“One of the martyrs was 19 years old. We’ve just found his last diary in his suitcase. The last lines he wrote before the attack were: ‘Only a short time left before martyrdom. This is the most important stage of my life. Nothing is more beautiful than martyrdom, except for one’s love for one’s mother. But I don’t know what is sweeter–my mother or martyrdom.’ This was the last thing that the martyr Furkan wrote, and the last thing said by our brothers. . . .”

    “Clean-hearted” indeed!

Memri has more from the IHH’s Orish:

“All the passengers on board the ship were ready for this outcome. Everybody wanted and was ready to become a martyr. […]

“Our goal was to reach Gaza or to die trying. All the ship’s passengers were ready for this. IHH was ready for this too.”

Of course, it is one thing for Orish to speak on behalf of IHH–whose terrorist ties are well documented. It is not so clear that he either knows or cares about what the others aboard may have had in mind.

IHH Preparations for a Violent Confrontation with IDF Soldiers
Aboard the Turkish Ship Mavi Marmara

    Initial conclusions from questioning passengers
and examining equipment on board the ship

    Overview

Oh my gosh… it’s a diary of a terrorist! it is settled! Furkan was a terrorist!! ZOMGBBQWTF!!

Sorry… same thing happened with 9/11.. where one of the hijackers (Mohd Atta?) just so happened to forget his luggage and left it at the airport… and in the luggage were a flight manual, a quran, passport(?).. and other incriminating evidences…
Or a car that the terrorists used (i think it was a car or taxi or something) where they found a quran, flight manual, and other incriminating evidences as well…
And not forgetting… how they found a charred passport of one of the terrorists from the site of the WTC Towers ‘Ground Zero’ that somehow managed to survive the plane crashing and disintegrating into the building and the fire that was so strong that it could cause the whole tower to collapse and not even leave behind the (practically indestructible) black box (never happened before, apparently).

How very convenient that they found a diary of a man who knew he was gonna be dying/killed soon and had the thought to write down his thoughts about it.. for what reasons, only a psycho like this ‘terrorist’ would know.

  115. pakistan diary Says:

This is the seed of indiscriminate terror employed by Grand Masters of the Order of the Assassins centuries ago, and by Osama Bin Laden and a host of others today. This is also the position taken by the terrorist state of Pakistan, which has defined itself as a Jihadi state. This transformation from a home from Indian Muslims to a Jihadi state was brought about by the late President Zia-ul Haq, who may fairly be described as the founding father of Talibanism. He was the one who sponsored the infamous book The Quranic Concept of War, to which he contributed a laudatory Foreword. According to it, Jihad is “the most glorious word in the vocabulary of Islam.” The book is required reading for all Pakistani officials, both military and civilian. Copies of an Urdu summary of the book called Jihad have been recovered from the bodies slain terrorists and soldiers.

But this doctrine does not stop here; it goes on to encompass the whole world: “It was the cause of humanity in general and not just the Muslim community in particular,” Brigadier Malik informs us. It is a universal doctrine, to be applied to all of us, and not just the believers. So India is only a stepping-stone in taking its campaign of ‘justice and freedom from oppression’ to the whole world. The Quranic Concept is to Pakistan what Hitler’s Mein Kampf was to Nazi Germany. So we should be under no illusions in dealing with such a state. We cannot defeat terrorism by appealing to terrorists to follow the ‘true principles of Jihad.’ That is exactly what they are doing. The truth is Jihad is terrorism.

  116. Scott Thong Says:

I don’t think it’s feasible for the US or Zionists to manufacture every single proclamation of jihad and shaheed (martyrdom) – including the video pronouncements made by the Mavi Marmara passengers themselves before heading out to Israel, and long trails of hate-filled Facebookings, forums postings, Youtube uploads/comments and etc that stretch back years. (Tons of Facebook sites – examples here, here, here)

Even harder to get throngs of people to pretend to be Muslims, march down the streets and chant death to Bush/Blair/America/Israel/kuffars/Facebook.

Even harder to brainwash multiple subjects into thinking they’re terrorists bent on jihad who carry out attacks in full public view while shouting “Allahu akbar!” (Nidal Hassan).

Occam’s Razor… The simplest theory is often correct. There are simply far too many Muslims who think – wrongly or not – that Islam advocates violence against nonMuslims.

Why did anyone in the West play along with what are clearly Palestinian crocodile tears anyway when they routinely sacrifice their children in droves with no compunction, mere pawns in their ongoing hate fest?

They train them from toddlerhood using perverted Sesame Street type shows to admire and embrace martyrdom. So why no candy handed out as is their gruesome custom in celebration instead of faux indignation when a child is caught in a crossfire with Israelis invariably started by Palestinian gunmen?

They’ve got their wish…another pint size sacrifice to Allah. Guess the problem is that he didn’t manage to “take out” any Jews with him as a suicide bomber would do, so he must be used to figuratively take them out to be spanked by the world media.

DIARY OF A TERRORIST : Inside the mind of a fanatic

One passage of the diary struck me especially. The terrorist was supposed to lure foreigeners, especailly Americans, into an ambush so that they could be taken hostage:

His first “catch” was an Israeli, who he thought would be an ideal hostage. But on his arrival at the safe house Shah-Sahib was furious. “Shah-Sahib gazed at me incredulously, peered out of the window and saw the 6’3″ hulking Israeli standing there, alarmed at seeing so many bearded men sleeping in one room. ‘You fool!’ hissed Shah-Sahib. ‘You’ll get us all killed. Take him back to his hotel at once and come back in the morning’.”

Makes as much sense as the die-hard Islamic hijackers going to a stripper’s club before their plane hijacking and crashing into some building; with very little flying experience to boot…

    Scott,

The higher-ups don’t need to do all that… They just pay and make sure other people do it.
I’m not too sure what’s looking at here.. (talking about your examples) cause I don’t seem to see anywhere mentioning that these people were on the ship…

And they don’t need a whole throng of disguised Muslims to do it… if what I understand about Ockham’s Razor is correct, then yeah, they only need some disguised ones.
Then again.. Muslims will probably do that on their own anyways. So the higher-ups can just focus on other trouble groups… like the 9-11 truthers, We Are Change, Alex Jones, etc….

For the past six years, PVV leader Geert Wilders has debated while wearing a bulletproof vest. He said that on Monday [June 7] during a-party leaders’ debate on Dutch TV. “I would not have been threatened with death if I had criticized the Christian religion or Hindus,” Wilders told PvdA [Labour Party, Socialists] leader Job Cohen. Geert Wilders then asked Job Cohen why he thought he had to wear a bulletproof vest, and told Cohen “People who criticize Islam are being murdered or receive hundreds of thousands of threats every year”.

Cohen responded by saying that it was “a disgrace” that Wilders needed to be protected, but on the other hand found it really would be “too far to lump all Muslims together”. According to Cohen, the Dutch, in a democratic society, may believe what they want. However, according to him, radicalism has to be curbed, such as radical Islam or radical animal-rights activists.

Wilders was quoting Pim Fortuyn and called the Islam “a danger to Dutch society”. He said that Cohen bows to Islam. Cohen in return said that Wilders would allow a Keppeltje [yarmulke] in the Netherlands but not a headscarf, and “allow a church but not a mosque”.

According to Wilders, Cohen has insulted hundreds of thousands Dutch citizens by stating that the PVV leader skirts the edge of the rule of law. “You have chosen for the perpetrators in stead of the victims,” Wilders told him, and referred to the role of Cohen as mayor of Amsterdam after the [Moroccan jihad] riots in Amsterdam’s ‘Diamond District’ [when a Jewish couple were advised to move somewhere else due to threats and abuses by Moroccan Muslims]. “You bow to Islam; I don’t. Our culture and our country will remain as they are,” Wilders said.

The following are excerpts from an interview with Ahmad Ibrahimi, Imam and coordinator of the Algerian delegation to the “Freedom Flotilla,” which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on June 4, 2010.

Ahmad Ibrahimi: I swear on Allah, live on TV, that we felt no fear whatsoever of those brothers of apes and pigs. By Allah, I loathed them before, and my hatred of them has only grown, not because they punished and humiliated us, but because I had thought them to be worthy enemies, but it turns out that they are too despicable even to be called our enemies, because they are not our equals. They are cowards.
    […]
I took an oath that if they stamped my passport, I would rip it up and leave without a passport. Our hatred for these people is so intense that we wished, at those moments, that we could have been bombs, and blow up among those brothers of apes and pigs.

I believe in the principle that all the infidels are one group. No good can come of any of those infidels. All these people have issued resolutions – like the Goldstone report or some rulings of the court in the Hague – but when the time comes to implement them, none of them can put Israel in its place.

If we want to profit from what happened, we must mobilize the Islamic peoples and the Arab nation, because the Palestinian cause is a purely Islamic religious issue. If Palestine is liberated, the whole world will change. We do not want a national Palestinian state or borders. We want Palestine in its entirety.

  146. que bonito es Israel Says:

“Islam is in its origins an Arab religion. Everyone not an Arab who is a Muslim is a convert. Islam is not simply a matter of conscience or private belief. It makes imperial demands. A convert’s worldview alters. His holy places are in Arab lands; his language is Arabic. His idea of history alters. He rejects his own; he becomes, whether he likes it or not, a part of the Arab story. The convert has to turn away from everything that is his. The disturbance for societies is immense, and even after a thousand years can remain unresolved; the turning away has to be done again and again. People develop fantasies about who and what they are; and in the Islam of the converted countries there is an element of neurosis and nihilism. These countries can be easily set on the boil. (P. xi)”

Another example of Christian humiliation occurred in Damascus. When leaving his home, a Christian was required to have a sac slung over his shoulder, in order to be ready to accompany a Muslim on his way to the market and carry (in his sac) the groceries of that Muslim “boss”! Quite often, such a Christian might spend most of his day in this forced and degrading service to unknown Muslims he had met by chance!

And as these events multiplied, it was the custom among Christian families when visiting their friends to inquire, ‘How many times were you forced today to carry the bag for the Muslims you had encountered?’ And, ‘On your way home, how often were you slapped by Muslims?’

Ottoman rule was brandished as the most suitable regime to rule Christians of the Balkans.

Can Jews kill God ?? Jews were all men, not angels, not ‘spirits’. Yet they were capable of killing God according to some people’s standard or believe.

Oh sure… It is never mentioned anywhere about that… So is the word Trinity never mentioned anywhere in the bible… though you can infer the concept of Trinity.

Just cause something is not mentioned doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be the case.

Does the bible even mention that Gentiles will be the head of things? No..

The bible categorized EVERYONE remaining on earth as ‘those who dwell on earth’… it didn’t continue to call them Jews or Gentiles or whatever.

  157. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

If Jesus was not God, then any man capable of killing him !

  158. Zack T Says:

Oh.. just to be clear.. I was referring to the time of the End of Days… as told in Revelation..

I’ve never heard of a responce ‘it is like an action film’… don’t build a straw man then knock it down.

Muslims can never comprehend the idea that Jesus had both the nature of God AND man in Him.
And they always quote the verses that Jesus talks of Himself as a man… then ignores the verses where He talks about being God or that other people talks about Him as God and He never corrects them; or they twist something about the verse out of its intended meaning.

God was never killed on the cross… Jesus was not God on earth… but God in the body of a man on earth. That body died on earth, but Jesus’s God nature remained alive (and some conjecture explains that He then went to hell/Hades/Sheol to free His people who have passed generations before since Adam).

Muslims will never understand this concept of dual nature until they leave their bias and examine the bible more truthfully. And when they do, then they’ll come to know the truth and like many competent truth seeker, convert to Christianity.. like Nabeel Qureshi, an ex-Muslim, of http://www.acts17.net or David Wood, an ex-atheist, of http://www.answeringmuslims.com.

“In terms of his own case, rather than pursue the mythological gambit, he attacked the logical coherence of the doctrine of the incarnation. In response to his incoherence claims, I explained the doctrine of Christ’s being one person who has two natures and used the movie Avatar to illustrate the doctrine. (“Avatar” is another word for incarnation.) The movie tells the story of Jake Sully, a disabled marine who becomes an avatar among a race of extra-terrestrials called the Na’vi. He becomes physically incarnated among them as one of them. At the same time he doesn’t cease to be human. So Jake has both a human nature and a Na’vi nature. In the movie these two natures have strikingly different powers. If you were to ask, “Can Jake Sully run?” the answer would have to be, “Yes and no: yes, in his Na’vi nature but no, in his human nature.”

I told the audience that if you can make sense of Avatar, you can make sense of Christ’s incarnation. For in a similar way, Christ has both a divine nature and a human nature. These natures have different powers. In his human nature Christ experienced all the limitations intrinsic to human nature. But in his divine nature he had supernatural powers. Just as Jake Sully in his Na’vi nature became the Savior of the Na’vi people, so Christ in his human nature becomes the Savior of mankind.”

Today we have a very different newletter, not because it deals with Islam and politics, but because it is written by a politician—Vijay Kumar is running for Congress in Tennessees’ 5th District. His billboards say “Defeat Universal Jihad”……:

Israel is the target of Islam’s Universal Jihadists, whether they come from Turkey, Palestine, Lancashire, the United Nations, Maine, or Sweden. Islam’s own Syed Qutb said it best: “A Muslim has no nationality except his belief.” The exact same statement applies to the allies and supporters of Islam’s Universal Jihadists.

That’s why all the talk about Gaza and Palestinians and Turkey and “humanitarian aid” is pure fraud and nothing but fraud, all merely part of the Islamic Universal Jihad against Israel and everything it stands for. The Muslims involved in the attacks on Israel—no matter what piece of land they call home—care nothing for manmade geographical boundaries, just as they care nothing for manmade laws, or, for that matter, human life.

What they care about is wiping Israel and everything it stands for off the face of the Earth. That is their goal. The one thing that Israel stands for that drives the Universal Jihadists of the Middle East mad—however short a trip that may be—is the right and freedom of a human being to be something other than Muslim. Universal Jihadists are dedicated to wiping such freedom from the face of the Earth. That’s why their overtly stated goal is to destroy Israel and the Jews. It is pure, seething hatred.

The “humanitarian aid” mission these Universal Jihadists and their liberal handmaidens are parading before the world press is nothing but a flotilla of pure, seething hatred, and it is a criminal fraud on Israel and on the world. It is actually a massive propaganda mission whose sole purpose is to smear and defame Israel, and weaken it for future attacks.

So, Jesus was dead? Can God die ? (unless he was not not God). is it blasphemous to believe God died ?

“No, no.. he physical or appearance died, his soul, spirit doen’t..” (Is this the possible answer ?). We have many, many answers ! But, the answer from the scripture is the better I think. Any imagination or believe without a clear verses of the Bible would be deviated.

Since I’m not a Christian, of course my personal view will be different. Muslims do not believe in God be born (because God is always there, without start or ending; how can he be “born”…since He is already born ?

It is also perplexed, at time Jesus was hepless he uttered ” Ella, Ella..lama sabatchtani..”. Who is “Ellah”? He appeal to himself ? Impossible. I beleive, “Ella” is Allah, the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. God of the Universe! Only the spelling/ style of the time is different. Ella is the Father? Father is God, then Jesus is not !

In the Bible also stated the God can never be tempted (by satan or any spirit). However Jesus was. This is another proof that Jesus in no God. He was tempted every way.

We have many “answers” of course. And explanations. But better the valid answer. 10 peoples may have 10 “answers”.

  168. Simon Thong Says:

Your mind is so limited and your answers so tilted towards a superficial understanding that I’m not sure I can help you. Still, I’ll give it a try.

Yes, Jesus died. Truly God, truly man, he died as God Incarnate. When he called to his father, it was the son calling to God the Father. If you want to make that Allah, be careful..your own muslim brothers may not overlook it. For if Jesus were calling to Allah, that would make Allah become Yahweh, God of the Jews, who then became the God of Christians: God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Then you would be following the wrong faith..you would need to follow Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ was tempted three times by the Devil and resisted him. God in Christ Jesus, God Incarnate, WAS tempted. He passed the tests, unlike Adam, the first man. Jesus Christ, the new Adam, passed.

To us believers, all this is clear. But to people with convoluted minds, who butt their heads against a wall, it doesn’t make sense. Still, I have tried.

  169. Simon Thong Says:

Let me ask you to clarify your statement: He was tempted every way.
Explain, give scriptural references to support your claim.

  170. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

TQ Simon for views. I always maintained that we all seeking truth, verify facts before us honestly – not “attacking” for the sake of attacking, nor with prejudices or hatred. If the fact is “white” then we must not say “black” instead. White must be white.

Matthew 4:1, 4:8. Hebrew 4:15. James 1:13 says God cannot be tempted by devil (whatsoever).

By the way, somehow Muslims actually follow and practiced many of the values taught by Christian scripture e.g circumcision (a must), avoiding alchohol and pork in total like Jews (though some bad Muslims drink also like bad Christians?); say ‘peace be upon you’ to strangers, bow in prostration in prayer etc. I think all those things are in the Bible but not many Christian actually follow. Muslims did instead.

Believing in Jesus is part of islamic teaching. A Muslim is not Muslim if he or she doesn’t believe in Jesus (pbuh).

  171. Simon Thong Says:

Matt 4.1 says, ” Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” That states what HAPPENED. Matt 4.7 (not 4.8) says, “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God’.” Did you read that last part…the Lord your God! What is Jesus saying? “I am the Lord your god, so you are not to tempt me.” That’s what he said.

Hebrews 4.15? Yes, it says that Jesus “in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Why didn’t you read verse 14? Hebrews 4.14 says, “Since then we have a great high priest who as passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” Jesus, the Son of God.

James 1.13? “Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one.” Jesus, Son of God and god the Son, the Word Incarnate, truly man and truly God, was tempted three times. Passed each test. That made him the perfect man. God’s true Son.

Don’t mislead us. A muslim is not a muslim if he believes that Jesus is the Son of God and God the Son. Even the devil believes in God. So what?

  172. Ron Says:

    Explaining Christianity: In a Nutshell

Christians believe that Yahweh, their god, sent himself down to earth to sacrifice himself to himself because bleeding on a cross was the only way he could convince himself to forgive us for the fact that an ancestor of ours made from a rib ate a magic fruit after being tricked by a talking snake. Those who don’t believe this will be tortured forever and ever by the god that loves us.

  173. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

As I expected our friend Ron has come back again ! But please.. please do not attack without basis. We apprreciate ‘evidences’ from scripture as you did sometimes. This is for exchange of views. To seek truth.

  174. Zack T Says:

[[ Seems Scott hasn’t returned to approve some of my comments, since it includes links of where I got my quotes… so I’ll repost the quote, without the links. ]]

Oh.. just to be clear.. I was referring to the time of the End of Days… as told in Revelation.. (Regarding ‘those who dwell on earth’)

I’ve never heard of a response ‘it is like an action film’ before… don’t build a straw man then knock it down to make a point.

Muslims will never understand this concept of dual nature until they leave their bias and examine the bible more truthfully/honestly (and again, without bias). And when they do, then they’ll come to know the truth and like many competent truth seeker, convert to Christianity.. like Nabeel Qureshi, an ex-Muslim, of acts17.net or David Wood, an ex-atheist, of answeringmuslims.com.

Here’s a good explanation to help our Muslim friend (and others) understand the concept of the duality of Jesus’s incarnation…

(Copied from another commenter of one post from answeringmuslims.com)

Dr. William Lane Craig’s debate against Yusuf Ismail :

Nasaei: “It is also perplexed, at time Jesus was hepless he uttered ” Ella, Ella..lama sabatchtani..”. Who is “Ellah”? He appeal to himself ? Impossible.”

Of course it’s perplexing for you. You’re thinking as a Muslim, while trying to understand a Christian text. With an Islam mindset, of course you can’t explain this.
But as a Christian who believes the bible and studies it, he easily understands the concept of the Trinity; One GOD, Three Distinct Persons.
So, Jesus, in his human form, on the cross, cried to the Father. Nothing perplexing here.
Stop trying to explain the bible with the Muslim understanding. You’ll never get anything right.

  175. Ron Says:

Nasaei, evidence from scripture is an oxymoron, but nonetheless, the previous synopsis came from the holy book.

The one thing that Avatar and the Bible have in common is that they’re both works of fiction.

  177. Zack T Says:

“The one thing that Avatar and the Bible have in common is that they’re both works of fiction.”

Hahahah… I knew someone would make that comment.
Hence why I said it’s an explanation. To help you understand.

Deny or deliberately choose not to understand it… but this duality of Jesus Christ is both understandable and not ‘perplexing’.

  178. Ron Says:

Oh, I understand it fully. God has a split personality à la Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. There’s the cruel, barbaric, sadistic, jealous, homicidal, pestilential, genocidal, and homophobic God presented in the OT, and then there’s the kinder, gentler, lovey-dovey version in the NT.

    …and then there’s Hovercat.

  179. Simon Thong Says:

“For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have becomer partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt. For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.” Hebrews 6.4-8. Just for you, Ron.

  180. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

Thanks my friends Zack T, Ron, and Simon et al.

Yes, the ‘difficulty’ we have here.. because of the differences of our respective believe. The believe is already sealed, “finalised” ! Explanation or exchange of view, interpretations etc won’t help…

By Muslims’ standard of believe, God is absolutely ONE, He has no associate, no partner, no triune or double or three in one whatsoever. He is single in essence, in His divine ‘nature’; the one and only. It is a blasphemy of the highest (damned) order to believe He is more than one of anyway. Sura Al-Ikhlas verse 1-4 is source of reference for Muslim (just for your information) As a common Muslim I believe God (Allah)..(among others):

    1. He is not like anything (not even our imagination – He is Not). Not like any of His creatures or manlike (nothing like him)

    2. He is not male or female

    3. He has no father, son, mother etc

    4. He has no beginning nor end. He exists forever

    5. He all knowing; all seeing; all powerful the only Omniscient, Omnipotent

    6. He will never appear, “incarnate” in any form whatseover, never “resurrected” or else. Devouted men can only see Him in the Day of Judgment. No man in history has ever seen/met Him. Moses only heard His words/’voice’.

    7. He is the one and only that has power. Nothing else has the power except Him. “Power” in anything else is given by Him, granted by Him.

    8. He is the most compassionate, most merciful, most benevolent etc, etc.

(His 99 names describe HIs attributes eg. “creator” ,”cherisher”, “sustainer” etc which are all attributed to Him.).

  181. Zack T Says:

    Nasaei,
Thank you for your sharing.. Just hope that you keep in mind that when investigating the bible, please investigate with an open mind and not with an already biased mindset of Islam.

Just wanted to add some thoughts to your statements about Allah…
Maybe you could help answer and clarify such thoughts:

    1. He is not like anything (not even our imagination – He is Not). Not like any of His creatures or manlike (nothing like him)
    – If He is beyond anything we can imagine… then why is it impossible for Him to choose (for Himself) to come into the world in the form of a man? He is the all powerful and etc, yes? So why is it impossible for Him to do something as simple as entering into the world of His creation in any form He wants; as He has done in the bible when he met Abraham as the Angel of the Lord?

    3. He has no father, son, mother etc
    – I understand that the Quran says Allah can’t have a son without a ‘consort’ (Sura 6:100-101)… so what about another part of the Quran where Allah told Mary “It is easy for Allah” to have a son without a consort through Mary (Sura 19:19-21).. or that Allah can take/choose a son to Himself (Sura 39.4)
    For more info, answering-islam.org/Quran/Contra/without_consort.html

    4. He has no beginning nor end. He exists forever
    – I understand Muslims believe Allah is eternally Love as the Christian God is also eternally Love. Here’s an interesting question that stumped a Muslim debater (Habib Ali) throughout his debate with a Christian Debater (Tony Costa); he was even asked that question 3 times by 3 different people (once each).
The question was: “Since Allah is eternally Love and unitary (the only Eternal One), who did Allah love before creation?”

    6. No man in history has ever seen/met Him. Moses only heard His words/’voice’.
    – This one is interesting… apparently there was some conflict/confusion among Muhammad’s companions..
answering-islam.org/Shamoun/allah_seen.htm (Quranic verses and Islamic sources referenced)

    8. He is the most compassionate, most merciful, most benevolent etc, etc.
    – May I ask… what does Allah say about non-Muslims… or non-believers of Allah and Muhammad? If I’m not mistaken, Allah says over and over how He hates non-Muslims (non-believers) and that it is better they be killed or they die, etc. is that how one describes the most compassionate?

    – then another one about ‘the most merciful’…
Just giving you a hypothetical scenario and I wanna ask your opinion:
Say there was a murderer who was brought to court, with all the evidence in the world to convict him of his crime. The court judge (as well as everyone else) knows he is guilty of his crime. However, because the murderer has been a faithful servant of the court judge (maybe in the office or at home) and the judge favors him very much, therefore the judge forgives the murderer’s crime and just lets him go without any form of punishment, or even with a very minimal punishment (say few months in prison). Can the judge be considered both just/fair and merciful?

  186. gobbles Says:

“– the llowers of which think that the mention of the word ‘religion’ is synonymous with ‘monotheist’.”

Monotheism was an economic necessity. With too many gods too many sheep/cattle/goats were being sacrificed. There were too many holidays and extravaganzas (there was no HBO, ESPN…). There also were too many bothersome priests.
    So monotheism made economic sense.
Once again the priests controlled everything and they fed on the wretched flock. Until the printing press came along.

    Eloi, not Ella.

And many Islamic words and concepts are based on earlier Jewish ones – for example, halal is based on hashrut, jahanam comes from gehenna, qurban comes from korban.

“hahaha… Imagine a Muslim purposefully goes to murder another Muslim… then repents in prayer and kills himself… Wonder how Allah would answer that one.”

In practice, this means Islamist thinking finds no problem with what Western nations see as the immoral and unacceptable killing of civilians. If collateral damage occurs when, for example, Hamas fires upon soldiers from schools or ambulances, there is no fault: The civilians caught in the crossfire were destined to die. The Saudi exile Muhammad al-Massari explains that any civilian killed in an attack on the enemy “won’t suffer [but instead] … becomes a martyr himself.”[28] During the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah “apologized” for an attack on Nazareth that killed two Israeli Arab children—but said the two children should be considered “martyrs.”

It is the double standard and rationalization that I have often read about… Middle Eastern men visiting the West will ogle and bed Western girls, but it is not the men’s sin because these women are acting like whores. “Look at that blonde slut!” “Yeah, see how immoral her see-thru blouse is – she should be ashamed!” “Do you know I slept with her? What a whore, she has sex with complete strangers!” Never does it cross their minds – or they intentionally suppress the thought – that they are the ones acting immorally.

A whole village of men will gang rape a woman – or in one case, two young men – to ‘avenge’ an alleged honour crime, e.g. the woman’s sister was spotted talking to a local boy. If you ask me, it totally sounds like an excuse to force themselves on a young woman – but they rationalize it as ‘just punishment’.

A father and brothers commit an honour killing on a girl who seemed to be getting ‘too Westernized’, and they cannot comprehend how murder ‘for good reasons’ could possibly be a sin, let along a worse sin that acting like an infidel whore.

  190. Zack T Says:

    Scott,

oh.. but those are sort of their ‘works’ for Allah… punishing the ‘sinful unbelievers’ or such… [[Which really scares me to wonder what kind of just/loving God allows His people to use rape as a form of ‘punishing’ sinful unbelievers…]]

but in the case of the hijackers going to a strip club.. that was for their own pleasure… they weren’t there to ‘punish’ the sinful whores there.
Otherwise they probably would’ve caused quite a ‘stir’ in that strip club and caused some headlines…

  191. wits0 Says:

“Monotheism was an economic necessity. ”

For who actually and in what great context?

This was the explanation but it appears that India and China did not suffer on account of non monotheism in their old traditions and history this way. Therefore it appears that “economic context” is only an excuse for certain types of people with certain innate dysfunctional tendencies. But these dysfunctions only morphed into another worse form.

Monotheism in such an archaic context only enabled the clerics to feather their own nests and become the powerful parasites forever. This is most natural when deliberately enabled by all those associated authoritarian constrictions of religiousity thereby instituted.

At least the Christian world rejects the priesthood’s excesses from the Renaissance onwards.

  192. gobbles Says:

“This was the explanation but it appears that India and China did not suffer on account of non monotheism in their old traditions and history this way.”

Aside force, it did make conversions easier when the muslims first, then christians came in.
e.g. in India, the muslims would throw a piece beef into a water well, and the muslims would say “OK, you hindus, it`s either this water or out in the desert with you”. Today both the muslims and rice christians are at it with $$$$. So much so, that the govts of some Indian States have been forced to outlaw “conversion”.
US/Europe is also going muslim on account of OIC`s oil clout.

  193. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

    TQ Zack.

If He is beyond anything we can imagine… then why is it impossible for Him to choose (for Himself) to come into the world in the form of a man?
    – Zack T.

You remind me to not be based on my side of view alone. The above your question is basically of Christian’s view, no Muslim believe “come into the world in the form of man”. We believe Jesus was indeed a man. A prophets like Muhammad, Moses, Abraham etc.

Frankly, we have the contrasted differences/ believe. Can’t help us much. Anyway, good to exchange views.

  194. Zack T Says:

    Nasaei,

I’m not trying to instill a Christian view into Muslim teaching..
I’m just asking you a thought based on logic or common sense.

Your answer is like when a child asks you ‘Why isn’t Santa Claus thin?’ and the answer comes ’cause that’s what we know about Santa.’

You said “He is not like anything (not even our imagination – He is Not). Not like any of His creatures or manlike (nothing like him)”
If a new Muslim were to ask you that very same question I asked.. would you just answer ’cause the Quran says so’?
it would be an insufficient answer, cause it fails to answer the logic behind the question asked.

if God is beyond our every imagination… how can we imagine God not being able to do what we say He can’t do?

  195. Zack T Says:

And of course, Nasaei, let’s not forget. Muhammad taught Muslims to look to the Torah, and said that the Quran (supposed to) attest to what the Torah have already claimed.
The Torah is preserved over thousands of years before Muhammad, and has not yet been altered since (as far as I know)…
So that means the Lord did appear to Abraham in the form of ‘the Angel of the Lord’.. He even ate and drank before Abraham and they have conversations together (the topic about Sodom/Gomorrah; Abraham was even ‘bargaining’ with the Lord).

I won’t question you about Muhammad’s claim about the Quran being consistent with ‘the Book’…
but I would like to understand why Muslims believe God can never come into His created world in any form He chooses? Isn’t it ‘easy for Allah’ to do such a feat? Like producing a son without a consort as He told Mary?

  196. Zack T Says:

Oh yeah… then there’s the matter of God appearing before Moses in the form of the burning bush..
If He can manifest Himself in the form of a burning bush… (or a cyclone or hurricane in the case of Job, not sure if Quran ever mentions about Job).. why can’t He do the same, but instead a man?

  197. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

Sorry 4 switching off topic a bit. Malaysiakini hari ini melaporkan satu perhimpunan “Melayu Bangkit” di Kuala Terengganu, attended by scores of Malays including ex-PM Dr. Mahathir and Terengganu MB. The organizers maintained that non malays should not upset with it..bla..bla..

I’m not sure what was the REAL purpose of that gathering. Of course I do not say it is ‘racist’ or else..but to me..a multi racial gathering is the better.

Politic should not be seen as a negative..even if any party is trying to gain back the partially/ significantly lost of support. Politic has made us enough divisiveness in the past.

Politic for power. Power is $$$$. convertible? And power is corrup; absolute power is absolutely corrupt, people say. It could be true.

It’s a psychological thing… At the same time as they find Western decadence very alluring compared to their strict and hyper-puritan background, they hate it (and feel guilty) and so justify themselves that they will eventually destroy all this filth and the culture that spawned it.

Ic… Thanks for the links, Scott… though I’m somewhat scarred psychologically now by the articles and the ‘extra’ links (that include pictures). X.x

Though the Russian hackers exposed these ‘terror’ Muslims… any news about these ‘terror’ Muslims actually going ‘kamikaze’ somewhere? Or were these articles following the news of these Muslims’ suicide attacks (if any)?

  200. Nasaei Ahmad Says:

I believe Eloh, Ellohim (plural form in respect) , Ella or Eloi were all refered to the same God of the Universe (Allah) – God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (pbu them all); the Almighty God, The Creator.

  201. Zack T Says:

    Nasaei…
As much as I would like the idea that we are all serving the one true God…
You Allah and my Yahweh are totally different beings…

Your Allah hates disbelievers (Quran 3:32) and calls Muslims to not ‘ally’/befriend them (Quran 3:28).

While our Yahweh teaches through Jesus to love our enemies and even pray for those who persecute us. (Matthew 5:44)
    biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205:43-48&version=NIV

And no, in Hebrew the plural form is not used for respect. There is no ‘Davidim’, there is no ‘Elijahim’… or ‘Mosesim’. You don’t even called Jesus ‘Isaim’ or Muhammad ‘Muhammadim’…
Elohim is a singular name for Yahweh that echoes God’s plurality, that is the Trinity.
And Jews never used ‘Eloh’ to describe God.

The only good thing about the Jenin “massacre” was watching the propaganda being debunked in record time.

According to the Weekly Standard, ‘That same day, you could hear breathless reports of the supposed Israeli atrocities in Jenin being spread by Palestinian sources on NPR, CNN, and elsewhere.’ The old adage holds true: ‘A lie is halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on.’

“If the Turks were able to manufacture UAVs, they wouldn’t be buying them from Israel; and even if they started manufacturing them, they can’t just dispose of an Israeli UAV, which they paid a fortune for, and spent months learning how to operate, and just change it,” he said.

Here’s one result of the IDF’s great work: European foreign ministers were so overwhelmed with the material presented by the IDF that for once they failed to condemn Israel for the Mavi Marmara incident (Please note that this report is from al-Jazeera and that’s why the tone is what it is).

“The European Union (EU) failed to adopt a resolution condemning Israel for its deadly attack…..”

“A statement issued by the EU foreign ministers on Monday in Luxembourg denounced the use of violence in general without holding Israel responsible…..”

“The statement also urged the captors of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit to release him immediately and ignored the Palestinian prisoners in Israel’s jails.”

I don’t think we’ve had anything close to this almost even-handed statement come out of Europe in the last 43 years.

Scott … err, some people, urm, think the peace activists were armed only with harmless toothpicks and sailed there to make peace. Hmm, strange ain’t it that Malaysia’s flotilla representatives were funded by our country’s biggest troublemaker — you know who (The Great One-lah).

Twelve US and Israeli warships crossed the Suez Canal toward the Red Sea on Friday, according to a report on Saturday in al-Quds al-Arabi.

According to the report, thousands of Egyptian soldiers were deployed along the Suez Canal guarding the ships’ passage, which included a U.S. aircraft carrier.

The Suez Canal is a strategic Egyptian waterway which connects between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

According to eyewitnesses, the U.S. battleships were the largest to have crossed the Canal in many years, Al-Quds reported.

And where might they be headed? hmmm

Here’s video posted by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in which IHH leader Bulent Yildirim clearly instructs ‘peace activists’ on the Mavi marmara to throw Israeli soldiers overboard when they come to stop the ship. This is the newspaper of “Palestine” before 1948 — it’s Jewish. The Jews were fighting for their land long before the UN or Balfour. Rewriting history doesn’t change the reality.

88% of Palestine that the Palestinian Muslims crow over — is in Jordan. So back they should go. There. So course Wilders is historically correct. Yaser Arafat and his Jew-hating armies created this Muslim narrative of deception of “Palestine,” and their lies became the accepted, twisted narrative of modern history, thanks to a corrupt and incompetent media.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100622/ap_on_re_us/us_times_square_car_bomb

    Excerpts:

Admitted terrorist Faisal Shahzad was so eager to tell how he plotted to kill Americans in Times Square, he went to court with a prepared statement.

In an unapologetic, matter-of-fact courtroom colloquy that followed, Shahzad offered chilling details about how he trained with the Pakistani Taliban to build bombs, then returned to the U.S. to launch an attack that would avenge attacks on Muslims by U.S. forces overseas.

“One has to understand where I’m coming from,” he said in an unusual departure from tightly scripted guilty pleas, with his defense attorney and prosecutors sitting in silence in federal court in Manhattan. “I consider myself … a Muslim soldier.”

Shahzad, 30, admitted leaving an SUV rigged with a homemade bomb in bustling Times Squares on a warm night on May 1.

Authorities say following his capture, Shahzad voluntarily started talking about the botched bombing right away — a pattern that continued in open court, where he agreed to plead guilty to 10 terrorism and weapons counts without the benefit of a plea deal and with certainty he’d face life in prison.

“I want to plead guilty, and I’m going to plead guilty 100 times over,” he said.

Until U.S. forces leave Muslim territory, he added, “we will be attacking U.S.”

When led into court on Monday, he had on a white skull cap and prisoner’s uniform, his beard shaggy and his demeanor full of pride and absent remorse.

Shahzad traced his plot to a 2009 trip to Pakistan that began only three months after he received his U.S. citizenship.

During the trip, he said he sought and received five days’ training in explosives from the Pakistani Taliban in the lawless Waziristan region before returning to the United States in February to pursue a one-man scheme to bring death and destruction to New York.

He explained that he loaded his vehicle with three bomb components, hoping to set off a fertilizer-fueled bomb packed in a gun cabinet, a set of propane tanks and gas canisters rigged with fireworks to explode into a fireball. He also revealed he was carrying a folding assault rifle in a laptop computer case for “self-defense.”

Shahzad said he expected the bomb to begin going off after he lighted a fuse and waited between 2 1/2 minutes and five minutes for it to erupt.

  221. Zack T Says:

I don’t know much about the Time Square bomb… but i heard that the ‘terrorist’ must’ve been really incompetent to have gotten the wrong type of ‘fertilizer’ for his ‘bomb’…
but then, I didn’t delve much into that story, so no comment.

Though, reading the excerpt, sounds to me this guy would plea guilty to any Muslim-associated bombings that the investigators throw at him.

“I want to plead guilty, and I’m going to plead guilty 100 times over,” he said.

    Meh… suit himself…

  225. zapu Says:

Lebanon is still trying to send that ‘women’s ship’ to break the Gaza blockade, but they are afraid to have it sail directly from Lebanon, because Israel would deem that an act of war. They have now re-raised an idea that they raised earlier: to have the ship sail first to Cyprus and then to Gaza. But the Cypriots, who probably have profited handsomely this summer from Israelis’ self-imposed boycott on travel to Turkey, aren’t willing to get involved. In fact, they say that if the ship lands there, they will impound it and deport all the passengers.

But on Thursday, the Cypriot ambassador to Lebanon told The Associated Press that the boat, the Miriam, will be turned back when it reaches Cyprus:

“We decided that such a ship will not be allowed to enter Cyprus and if such a Gaza-bound ship docks in a Cypriot port the crew and the passengers will be deported to their country of origin,” Kyriacos Kouros said.

Kouros said Cyprus has a “moral and legal responsibility” to those allowed into its waters, and that a blockade-busting ship could endanger lives along with “regional peace and stability.”

Maybe they could sail to Istanbul first. Heh.
