Ann Coulter at CPAC 2011

Via Gateway Pundit, from Freedom’s Lighthouse:

And my selection of the most snarky and piercing quotes:

From her speech:

But you know, if they wanna get rid of overbearing, out of touch despots… Could we start with Janet Napolitano?

Mubarak supports US policy, used his army to fight Islamic terrorists, and he recognized Israel’s right to exist. Or as liberals call it: Three strike and you’re out.

In some pro-Ahmadinejad districts the voting was over 100%… Oh no, wait, I’m sorry – I was thinking of Al Franken’s election in Minnesota.

But Egyptians take to the streets and start decapitating mummies, and Obama says “We hear your voices.” He hears their voices? He couldn’t even hear our voices and we were protesting on the streets on Washington D.C.!

For 50 years, Democrats have harbored traitors, hobnobbed with America’s enemies, attacked America’s allies, lost wars, lost continents to Communism… As Joe McCarthy put it, if they were merely stupid, the laws of probability would dictate that at least some of their decisions served the interests of the United States.

Under mean, divisive George Bush, a nuclear sub was named after Jimmy Carter – the USS Jimmy Carter. It’s a good sub, but there were some problems – its periscope works only in hindsight, life rafts are subject to hyperinflation, and whenever it’s in a US port it immediately attacks the United States.

For the young people in the audience, now you know why when people compare Obama to Jimmy Carter, it’s not a compliment.

[Obama] got into office and immediately turned over our healthcare to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Now, those interminable lines at the DMV, imagine you’re standing in one of the lines but this time you’re in one of those hospital gowns that’s open in the back – that’s Obamacare!

Obama says the price of health insurance will come down if only it’s mandatory. It’s like the guy has never ordered food from a hotel before. When you have no choice, does the price go up or down?

And now Republicans are gonna have to repeal national healthcare just so we can find out what’s not in it.

I love this argument that we need a ‘path to citizenship’. Path to citizenship – we have a path to citizenship, it’s called legal immigration.

But the strangest thing was seeing Obama not on a golf course. Everytime I look up the guy’s on a golf course – it’s like he’s trying to get his handicap down below his approval numbers.

—————————–

From her question and answer session (which has more serious discussion than her for-amusement speech):

Q: What is more important though to American values – being friends with Israel still, or knowing that there are jailed dissidents and journalists?
A: ……….What do you mean, knowing that there are journalists? I think there should be MORE jailed journalists! [Said with a completely straight face!]

Ann: That’s why you need an observant electorate – very bad for the Democrats, very good for the Republicans.

Ann: Don’t be like a politician and take a poll and then decide what your position is – the truth is inherently appealing.

Q: Who is your least favourite Democrat?
A: Oh boy! That’s like asking my least favourite disease!

Ann: And by the way, congratulations liberals, you just about destroyed the black family with these brilliant promotions of single motherhood policies.

Ann: I was always friend of the gays… Then liberals come with this idea no one’s thought of for a thousand years – gay marriage. And I go to sleep one night being friend of the gays, I wake up the next day [a] homophobe! No! You can’t do that – you just made up this gay marriage thing.

Ann: [Gay marriage] has nothing to do with [liberals] liking gays – they don’t mind their little pals the Islamic terrorists dropping walls on gays. No, only to use gays as a cat’s paw to attack the family. Because liberals want the family destroyed, they want religion destroyed, because then you have loyalty directly to the state.

Ann: God is saying to gays what He said to Abraham – give up something you love for Me. That’s a tough cross to bear and I admire gays who do it.

Ann: The left is trying to co-opt gays and I don’t think we should let them. They should be on our side – we’re for low taxes, we’re against crime, we’re against the terrorists who wanna kill gays. Gays are natural conservatives.

  1. Joe the Plumber Says:

Ya likes Anne Coulter <> huh?

No surprise. She looks like a dude — the type closeted neocons lust after.

  2. Scott Thong Says:

Yeah, she looks sooooooo much more unattractive than these HOT liberal women /snark

No wonder there are so many gay men rallying to the Democrat banner!

  3. Joe the Plumber Says:

There are lots of young, intelligent hotties to be found in the Democratic camp, but you’ll never meet them if you filter your search results to women over fifty.

  4. Scott Thong Says:

Yet apparently, hardly any of them have enough talent or charisma to make it into the public eye. Those that do have what it takes, well, let’s just say that the public is trying to wash those images out of their eyes.

  5. Joe the Plumber Says:

That’s ’cause they’re actively working behind the scenes to make a better society rather than shilling themselves for publicity.

  6. Scott Thong Says:

If by that you mean aborting all the babies they conceive with liberal men, then yes, I’d have to agree that they are improving both the gene pool and the cultural inheritance.

  7. Joe the Plumber Says:

Actually the abortion rates are about equally divided among partisan lines. Teen pregnancies in the red states, however, are much higher. Seems that abstinence only thing isn’t working out for them.

    Joe Lust.

  9. Joe the Plumber Says:

Yes Simon, I lust after women.

You lust after your own kin, and Scotty lusts after Republican women who look like men.

  10. Scott Thong Says:

Republican women who look like men. – Joe the Plumber

I should have pointed this out at the start with his ‘Ann Coulter looks like a man’ remark.

    This is Ann Coulter:

    http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blpic-coultershooting.htm

That should say everything we need to know about Joe’s grip on reality.

    And as for this:

You lust after your own kin,

For shame, Joe! Don’t tell me you’re some hateful homophobe and incestophobe? What kind of backward, bigoted fundamentalist brainwashing do you tout? I bet you discriminate against fine, upstanding zoophiliacs too. You racist.

  11. Joe the Plumber Says:

    This is Ann Coulter:

    {Reader Warning: horrifying images}

As they say: Nice legs, shame about her face…. and camel neck… and personality.

“For shame, Joe! Don’t tell me you’re some hateful homophobe and incestophobe? What kind of backward, bigoted fundamentalist brainwashing do you tout? I bet you discriminate against fine, upstanding zoophiliacs too. You racist.”

Well, my dictionary defines the word ‘racist’ as someone who expresses hatred or intolerance toward another race. Since animals aren’t usually considered a part of the human race, your pc epithet misses the mark. Perhaps you meant speciest?

Anyways, I don’t really care who or what (Ann Coulter) you have sex with so long as you have the other party’s consent.

  13. Wakefield Tolbert Says:

“Teen pregnancies in the red states, however, are much higher. ”

Has this been adjusted for the fact that many MORE are done in the URBAN areas of those same red states, which in turn skews the statistics?

Georgia for example is certainly very conservative overall, but ATLANTA is not. Not by a long shot. And we know that abortion is MUCH higher in the inner city African-American community than it is in the countryside.

And guess who votes mostly Democratic come election time? Yeah, urban areas like Atlanta. Barely counterbalanced by the surround Metro areas.

  14. Ron Says:

Hey everyone, I am Ann Coulter.!!

Look at me, I’m going to say something outrageous!!

  15. Simon Thong Says:

No, you’re Ron, and you’re wRONg to pretend to be someone else.

  16. Wakefield Says:

Supporting the right to even so much as EXIST for a modern and progressive nation like Israel–a true democracy–over the various cutthroats of the Sons of Allah and other headrippers, and talking about a real nation to have a turnover of power in (Iran) rather than the phony war now going on (Libya).

Gosh, Ron, you’re right. How outrageous!

  17. Ron Says:

Oh please! Get serious!! Ann doesn’t give two hoots about anything she says. Like Beck, Limbaugh, and O’Reilly, Coulter has simply decided to capitalize on the large market of American half-wits anxious to pay for her political demagoguery.

  18. Scott Thong Says:

So are lib commentators are motivated by pure altruism then?

Like MSNBC deciding that now, during Obama-Libya, dissent is unpatriotic instead of being the highest form of patriotism during Bush-Iraq? Surely this was spurred by their love for the nation and its Constitution.

Or the obtuse NYT not having a clue what could have made Nidal Malik scream “Allah akhbar” while shooting people but suddenly becoming geniuses who know Sarah Palin and the Tea Party drove Jared Loughner to murder? Truly, they are merely seeking the bare unpoliticized truth in order to objectively report it to the waiting populace.

Or perhaps Michael Moore who hates capitalism and loves unions so much, that he gets rich off films bashing capitalism which he makes by avoiding hiring union labor? He and Chavez-lovers like Sean Penn must be real saints to willingly suffer under the cruel yoke of capitalism instead of escaping to their respective Communist utopias of Cuba and Venezuela.

  19. Ron Says:

Perhaps you prefer to view every issue as either black or white, but my world view isn’t quite as polarized — it encompasses not only subtle shades of grey but every color under the rainbow.

  20. aiyoyo Says:

    Oh like John Kerry`s nuances.
I must admit a liking for frogs` legs, with cashewnuts & chili.

  21. Wakefield Says:

Ron, while when it comes to some flavor nuances, like food and perhaps some other personal choices of decorum and lifestyle, I’d say that at some point you have to–at long last–decide that some shades of grey are darker than others. At least on the moral front.

  22. Ron Says:

Well, I’m an atheist who has never supported US intervention in foreign countries, but believes in social equality, free markets, affordable healthcare, environmental responsibility, and decent public education for all.

So which political box do I fit into?

  23. Wakefield Says:

I don’t know just what “box” you fit into, Ron, but it matters not.

It’s not a matter of boxes to check off, but rather that your list contains contradictory pushes. Social equality is a loose-goosey term that basically means unicorn gas and crap to pay for from the government. In fact this cult of admixtures and compromises is exactly why we’re in the budgetary and moral mess we’re in, in the very first place.

free markets should stay away as far as possible from the socialist euphamisms and Pollyanna crap about “affordable healthcare”, which would tend toward market equilibirum if governmetn got as FAR AWAY as possible. Socialized or govt. controlled meds are anathema to free men and free markets. The overly glib assessment about government busybodies getting involved has shown historically to turn into laughably expensive glop to pay for. It’s just that when you have HALF the nation not paying federal level taxes in the USA, some feel they have no libility for the issues. Or think they should not. More fool them.

Public education for all. God help us. Not for me, bud.

No force, in the powers of heaven and earth, would convince me to send my kids to the frowsy/lousy crappy public schools, which if you’re truly a man of “free markets”, you’d run from as if a grizzy were after you. The public schools are the uterus of socialist muck and slush and cheapjack sloganeering and social engineering. Both the early and modern founders and maintenence crews and salesmen for government involvement in public education (another silly euphamism) are brutally honest about the NEA’s urge to socialize the youth in a certain manner.

I’ll have no part of their culture-smashing goals of the New Socialist Man, which is why I homeschool my sons. The latter method has shown, overall, a superiority in the positive transmittal of values anyhow.

To have the State raise the kids in place of parents may very well be the goals of the Marxians from a long time ago, but I’ll have no part of it.

It’s bad enough that as a property owner I can’t opt out of paying for the public school crappola. But still…

I believe that morality is not started with quips and airy-fairey fantasies about the native equality of people–which logic of biology and experience would dictate to rational minds doesn’t actaully exist.

  24. Scott Thong Says:

Well, I’m an atheist who has never supported US intervention in foreign countries, but believes in social equality, free markets, affordable healthcare, environmental responsibility, and decent public education for all.

So which political box do I fit into? – Ron

Libertarian, the catch-all for anyone not Dem or Repub. (Imagine it as a motivational poster.)
