An Offer You Can’t Accept

The Calvinist doctrine of Total Depravity/Inability means that no one can really respond positively to accept God’s free offer of salvation. Instead, all of God’s calls are ‘not effectual’ unless He uses Irresistible Grace to make those select few He has Unconditionally Elected inexorably believe.

As for everyone else… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But could God really be insincere in His promises? I say thee, nay! “GOD FORBID! YEA, LET GOD BE TRUE, AND EVERY MAN A LIAR! – ROMANS 3:3”

If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it. – Genesis 4:7

For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off… But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it… I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live – Deuteronomy 30:11,14,19

Choose this day whom you will serve – Joshua 24:15

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. – Isaiah 1:18

Now therefore mend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the LORD your God, and the LORD will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you. – Jeremiah 26:13

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, so that every one may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. – Jeremiah 36:3

Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel? – Ezekiel 33:11

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28

Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. – John 3:2

That whoever believes in him may have eternal life. – John 3:15

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. – John 20:31

God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. – 2 Corinthians 5:20

And with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. – 2 Thessalonians 2:10

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” – Hebrews 3:7-8
