Al Gore: High Priest of Global Warming Hypocrisy

                          

UPDATE 18 JUNE 2008: Al Gore’s energy use has INCREASED!!!!

Al Gore has been promoting himself as a champion of environmentalism who is leading the good fight against global warming. With his Academy Award For Best Documentary for ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ (which has been debunked by British government court!), he has suceeded in becoming the most prominent of the Kyoto-loving club members.

He’s also the most self-righteous hypocrite of the whole lot.

According to this report, the average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh. That’s more than 20 times the national average.

In August 2006 alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh, guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year.

And since the release of ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005 to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year. Natural gas burns in air to produce… You guessed it, the evil temperature-raising pollutant carbon dioxide!

So who’s the real champion of Green here? I guess Bush is an environmental hypocrite too, but the reverse of Gore – he downplays environmentalist concerns about global warming, but has an energy saving home!

The smokestack of the left represents the pollution caused by Al Gore’s energy-guzzling living and travelling habits. The one on the right, the pollution caused by all the hot air that he’s so full off. (It gives me perverse pleasure in using a Greenpeace anti-pollution picture here.)

Gore defends himself by saying that much of his energy use comes from ‘green power’, as readable here. It is claimed that that is ‘equivalent’ to recycling 2.48 million aluminum cans or 286,092 pounds of newspaper.

But seriously, energy from renewable resources (the so-called ‘green power’) provides but a fraction of what is currently needed to run cities, vehicles and industries – whatmore with global warming-phobic environmentalists opposing the alternative energy source that provides the most power, i.e. nuclear energy.

If every ‘green’ supporter were to use energy as carelessly as Al Gore does, green power will be even more woefully inadequate for everyone’s needs!

And as I’d stated in a comment earlier on: Note too that every time ‘Save the environment’ celebrity flies off in his/her private jet to attend an anti-global warming function, they emit more CO2 than most of us can emit in our entire lives.

And how many, many times they fly around the world to attend their social gatherings and self-promoting concerts where they denounce CO2 emissions! (Case in point: John Travolta)

Not to mention their resource-and-energy guzzling luxury cars, luxury mega-mansions, luxury goods flown in from halfway across the world, luxury holidays jet-hopping around Europe…

Al Gore himself is a major CO2 emitter. This article says he and his entourage flew from Atlanta to Hollywood then to Washington to attend preview screenings of ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ in 3 days. Then used 5 gas-guzzling SUVs to travel 500 yards at the Cannes film festival, all the way over in France.

Jesus would have called them all “HYPOCRITES!” and told them to first remove the coal-fired power plant from their own eyes, so that they can see clearly to remove the speck of pencil lead in our eyes.

And if such haughty celebrities are the Environmental Pharisees, then Al Gore is their High Priest of Global Warming Hypocrisy. If anyone can Photoshop his face into a Pharisee outfit, please send it to me for inclusion.

And Al Gore isn’t just a lieing, convenient truths hypocrite when it comes to global warming…

But with anything else that suits his agenda as well, such as the Iraq War.
