Official British Court Finds 11 Inaccuracies in Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, Labels It As Political Propaganda

UPDATE: Just 9 errors.

Bwah ha ha ha ha ha! Take that in your face, Gorezilla!

If this keeps up, Al Gore and his hypocrite cronies could be conclusively debunked as utterly wrong and disowned as dishonest swindlers within my lifetime!

Before allowing it to be shown in schools Britain-wide, the British government has officially tried AL Gore’s global warming propa-scam-da film, An Inconvenient Truth, in court… And have reached the following conclusions (bolding is mine):

…the Court found that the film was misleading in 11 respects and that the Guidance Notes drafted by the Education Secretary’s advisors served only to exacerbate the political propaganda in the film.

In order for the film to be shown, the Government must first amend their Guidance Notes to Teachers to make clear that 1.) The Film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument. 2.) If teachers present the Film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination. 3.) Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children.

The inaccuracies are:

  • The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government’s expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
  • The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.

[See Climate Skeptic where you can find this outright lie to school children to spread global warming propaganda graph:

And the actual facts graph:

Teaching blatant, 180-degrees turned around untruths to kids… Can global warming fearmongers get any more intentionally, ethicslessly dishonest? Unfortunately, being comprised mostly of LIE-berals, I’m sure they can.]

  • The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that it was “not possible” to attribute one-off events to global warming.
  • The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that this was not the case.
  • The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned and this was because of a particularly violent storm.
  • The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream throwing Europe into an ice age: the Claimant’s evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
  • The film blames global warming for species losses including coral reef bleaching. The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
  • The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
  • The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting, the evidence was that it is in fact increasing.

[See Irrefutable, It-Is-A-Fact Global Warming Causes ‘All-Time’ High Antarctic Ice.]

  • The film suggests that sea levels could rise by 7m causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40cm over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
  • The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The Government are unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

  1. Infidel Says:

You failed to mention that the judge quite clearly expressed that the movie won’t be banned from schools, as Dimmock demanded, because the detected errors were minor in nature and that the movie contains four main messages that are very well and truthfully documented: That climate change is made by man, that temperatures will rise further, that the climate change will have bad consequences and that it is possible for governments and individuals to do something about it.

  2. Scott Thong Says:

True, it’s not been BANNED per se.

I agree with last three points, and less so with the first point. It is quite clear that localised climate can be affected by human activities, and that on a global scale this may very well be true.

But the statement ‘climate change is caused by man’ is somewhat superlative… It implies that ALL climate change is caused by man, whereas I feel the evidence is highly deficient in that respect… The evidence rather points to climate change being driven by non-human factors, as it has been for eons.

I also disagree greatly with Mr. Gore on HOW governments and individuals should mitigate/adapt to climate change. I feel that the WORSE method available is carbon caps and trading, which impacts the economy badly and does not reduce overall CO2 levels at all.

Basically, I think all it does is make Al Gore even richer from his carbon trading company. Especially poignant since Gore himself refuses to cut his own CO2 levels, preferring instead to offset them with carbon credits… Purchased with his money… Which he earns from carbon credits. The evil genius of it all!

I’m in favour of the Bussard Clean Fusion Reactor to replace oil and coal:

And as for the ‘truthfully documented’ bit… I’m sad to mention the following:

    Mann’s Hockey Stick hoax:

    NASA’s flawed climate data:

Idiotically placed temperature sensors, yet problem is not fixed and the temperature data is intentionally skewed even higher:

My question to you, Infidel, is this: Are you really convinced that the world is going to be seriously and badly affected by climate change, especially when nobody – LEAST OF ALL Al Gore and other big-name global warming proponents – wants to do anything meaningful to mitigate it if means their own comfort and profits will be affected?

“True, it’s not been BANNED per se.”

True, it is being send to every british state secondary school by the government. The judge mainly asked teachers to note how Gore differences from IPCC consensus. He took rather interesting and wide definition of ‘partisan politics’. Guess would your view be permitted in British schools.

Check the original, not misleading and biased news about it:
“I have no doubt that Dr Stott, the Defendant’s expert, is right when he says that: “Al Gore’s presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate.””

“There is no call for the Defendant to support the more extreme views of Mr Gore – indeed the Government’s adherence is to the IPCC views – but the present package in my judgment does enough to make it clear both what the mainstream view is, insofar as Mr Gore departs from it, and that there are views of “sceptics” who do not accept even the consensus views of the IPCC.”

  4. Scott Thong Says:

So Gore is too extreme even for the IPCC?

  7. tony brimson Says:

Hi. My name is tony and I live in Victoria, Australia. For the past 9 years Victoria has been in a serious drought, and the report from the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO said that this current trend is due to “Climate change” and it will continue to get worse with no, or little rain in the coming months. They told us that large parts of the West will suffer the most. The Bureau even predicted a warmer than normal winter with little, or no rain in early spring.
The facts: This year (2010) was very cold. We had some of the best snow falls in our mountains for years. We have had heavy rainfalls from late Oct to the end of November, and it is still raining hard. Our major dams are now overflowing and they are predicting more rain. Queensland to the north has received huge amounts of rain over the last 3 years.

Britain is having some of the coldest weather for years. Sorry! did I hear global warming?????

  8. Scott Thong Says:

They call it ‘climate change’ now… Oops sorry, now it’s ‘global climate disruption’. Next they might make it ‘non-100% unchanging climate conditions’ in order to cast an even wider net.

  9. tony Brimson Says:

You are right Scott about getting it wrong and changing it’s name. Al Gore’s inconvenient truth should have been called ” Convenient bank account”.

  10. Tony Brimson Says:

It appears that few people want to comment on this site? We were told by one of our leading scientists on climate change, that large parts of the Queensland coastline could be under water by 2010 due to sea levels rising from melting ice caps. Insurance companies are so concerned, that they even said that policy premiums for people living in coastal towns would increase because of this event.

Put your brain into gear before you open your mouth.

  11. Scott Thong Says:

Ahem, when do the insurance companies (who are evil, according to the Dems) ever want to reduce premiums?

And on sea level rise, I think the most telling fact is that the champion of OH NOES GLOBAL WARMINGS WE ARE GONNA DIES, Al Gore, recently bought a seaside mansion!

This is the visionary who claims a multi-metre rise in sea levels if we don’t cut our carbon emissions, but who apparently is simultaneously short sighted enough to buy a seaside mansion!

  12. Tony Brimson Says:

What a great idea! sell people rubbish, and use the money to buy a luxury villa. Al Gore you old deceiver.

  13. Scott Thong Says:

Better than rubbish, old chap, THIN AIR! Referring simultaneously to Al Gore’s cross-continental jet travel, bloviating speeches and carbon offsets to assuage the guilty conscience.

This is the information age after all, ideas are worth their metaphorical, non-corporeal weight in GOLD!

  14. tony brimson Says:

Thanks Scott for your followup. Wouldn’t you like to a fly on the wall in the secret meeting rooms of the IPCC?

  15. Scott Thong Says:

Well if Wikileaks would do a part 2 to their revealing how US diplomats influenced climate policy the ‘old fashioned way’, I wouldn’t need to.

  16. tony brimson Says:

Good science makes good sense. One of the key rolls of a scientist is about proper research. I believe that some scientists can easily be bought at a price, especially in the area of grants and fundings. My work is in science/physics, where I spend a lot of time designing and building equipment. Because of my denial views on man made climate change, there is very little money to be had. Many scientists/science people do it hard when it comes to funding for programs/projects. I recently wrote a letter to the editor of our local newspaper stating that not all scientist believe in climate change, and that it is a very divided topic amongst the science community. Boy! did I get some flack. There are a lot of readers out there, but sadly not researchers. Including some scientists? Get my drift.

  17. Scott Thong Says:

Totally get it. You aren’t alone however, plenty of ex-warmist scientists have come out to denounce the lemmingness of their respective organizations. The last one I remember is Hal Lewis quitting the American Physical Society.

And speaking of ‘proper research’, here’s what NASA’s groundbreaking standards looks like.

    So much for reaching Mars.

  18. Tony Brimson Says:

Will “Global warming” be renamed to just “Climate change”? To prevent litigation by irresponsible parties who make false weather predictions? A number of years ago, I heard that a group of US farmers were going to sue the bureau of meteorology. Apparently, the met got their long term weather predictions wrong. The farmers lost huge amounts of money from loss of crops, as farmers rely on long term weather forecasting for crop sewing. Foolish predictions can also cost operators of holiday destinations, hotel, and tour companies millions of dollars. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for the alarmists?

  19. Tony Brimson Says:

Queensland is in serious flood crisis. Toowoomba to the north of Brisbane has received huge amounts of rain, and people have lost their lives in the floods. Two years ago, one of our so-called leading environmental scientist issued a warning that Queensland would suffer serious droughts (global warming) by 2010, and that the Queensland government should/must build a desalination plant ASAP. What sort of stupid scientists are they?

  20. Simon Thong Says:

These are scientists who have a herd mentality, and they are not smart enough to not follow an ex-politician turned businessman-conman, Al Gore.

  21. Tony Brimson Says:

Queensland’s floods to peak higher than the floods of 1974. Senior weather forecaster said the combination of warmer than average ocean temperatures coupled with global warming, has caused above average rain falls. So what caused the the floods of 74?

  22. Simon Thong Says:

I have 2 brothers in Brisbane, and fortunately, their homes are spared.

  23. Tony Brimson Says:

That’s great news about your brothers, I also have 2 married nephews living in Toowooba. One of my nephews is a policeman who hasn’t seen much of his family for days. Both of them have had flood damage. I also have a sister in-law living in Brisbane, we made contact with her, and she and her husband are fine.

  24. Tony Brimson Says:

Queensland to scrap it’s 1.3 billion dollar desal plant. In 2007, Professor Tim Fannery advised the Queensland government to construct a desalination plant at the Gold coast, because the big Q will run out of water within 18 months. The CSIRO also advised that computer models predict lower, or below average rainfalls will continue due to the onset of global warming. I think that they should lock up Tim Flannery, and others like him, and throw the Key away. Climate clowns, not climate scientists.

  25. ollu Says:

Folks- what are you talking about? climate change is something that is very present though not effecting everyone directly. consequences of climate change are visible – all the movie is trying to establish is an awareness that we can’t go on like now. i am not saying that changes can be brought about in no time but in the long run there is no other option but to do things differently – not for us, but our kids etc. or don’t you care about the following generations? i don’t mind poeple making money by pointing at the urgency of the problem. Hey, and even if the movie is exaggerating – what if only half of it is true?

  26. arsalan asif Says:

climate change is something that is effecting everyone and climate change is all about extreme weather changes thats the whole reason your australian buddy got a cold winter and a drought in summer so algore’s inconvenient truth is all real so please sotp calling him a liar.

  27. Scott Thong Says:

    1) Please explain this recent chart showing rapidly rising CO2 levels with NO corresponding rise in temperature, this is completely contrary to what Global Warming Theory says. (From collection of evidence at )

    2) If Al Gore is not a liar and hypocrite, why did he buy a seaside house since Global Warming is supposed to cause a flood of the coastal regions? (From collection of comics at )
