You’ve heard about the famous Dead Sea scrolls yeah? Especially after all that Da Vinci Code ruckus, and the countless books debunking Dan Brown’s fiction – many of them use the Dead Sea Scrolls as an example of evidence that the Bible wasn’t made up out of thin air.
Among the manuscripts recovered is an almost 100% complete book of Isaiah (exampled above). And the Isaiah in the Scrolls is almost exactly the same word for word as the modern Bible’s. How’s that for Scriptural accuracy?
And perhaps you’ve heard of this ‘book of Isaiah’, one of the books of the Old Testament of the Bible. Isaiah is remarkable because it contains many lines that seem to tell about the birth, life and death (by crucifixion) of Jesus. Look at this site for more about that, as well as Isaiah in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Why remarkable? Because Isaiah is believed by conservative scholars to have been originally written around the time of 700BC-680BC. That’s 700 years before Jesus was even born on earth!
Of course, liberal scholars who dismiss prophecy from the get-go argue that Isaiah must therefore have been completed AFTER Jesus’ lifetime. Otherwise, how could it describe His circumstances so accurately?
So here’s something I realized just this morning, even though I’ve long been familiar with both the Dead Sea Scrolls and the book of Isaiah. (Maybe my slight flu and the effects of antibiotic drugs have reformatted my brain to process thoughts temporarily.) Anyway…
Some of the Dead Sea Scrolls have been dated to way way way BC. This includes the copy of Isaiah found. For proof, University of Arizona’s page, 4th paragraph from bottom.
So all belief or unbelief in prophecy or miracles or etc aside, just sticking with purely forensic and scientific evidence… That means that Isaiah accurately writes about the events of Jesus’ life at least 100+ to 300+ years before they happened!
For me, that’s like, WOW, ‘cos it’s like, purely relying on accepted scientific methods. Debate THAT, naturalists!

Failed Prophecies:
1) Deuteronomy 7:1 When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you
Yet according to Josuha 15:63 – Judah could not dislodge the Jebusites, who were living in Jerusalem; to this day the Jebusites live there with the people of Judah
And according to Joshua Joshua 16:10 – But they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites live in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and they became forced laborers.
2) Ezekiel 26 – City of Tyre to be destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, plundered of its wealth, turned into a desolate rock, and never rebuilt.
According to wikipedia (and oddly enough confirmed in Ezekiel 29:18), Nebuchadnezzar tried to conquer Tyre but failed . The city was taken taken by Alexander, who built a causeway, and later by his general Antigonus. Three gospels tell us that Jesus went their to preach. The city still exists to this day.
3) Ezekiel 29 – Egypt would become a desolate wasteland for 40 years and Egyptians would be scattered amongst the nations, then returned in captivity to become a lowly kingdom never to rule over other nations again. Nebuchadnezzar would be the conqueror.
Once again Nebuchadnezzar tried and failed. Egypt was never laid desolate and remained a world power until the of middle of the third century BCE.
4) Ezekiel 30:12 I will dry up the streams of the Nile and sell the land to evil men; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.
This has never happened.
5) In 2 Kings 22 God promises Josiah a “peaceful” death. The very next we read he gets slaughtered in a battle at Megiddo.
6) Jeremiah 34 – Same promise, different king, but an even more gruesome death (Jeremiah 52)
7) Mark 13:30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
Whoops. All those people died and Jesus is now almost 2000 years overdue.

Ron has done… and is doing his job..attack, attack and attack. However, we view it positively – as an open discussion.
Scott as usual, will always has the answers or interpretations. And interpretations could be many, by many individuals, and scholars.
Just a pretty difficulty here, answers or interpretations may not necessarily satisfy or acceptable by some – especially our ‘well-versed’ friends like Robert and Ron.
I’m not qualified to engage in such an academic discussion. But I’ll participate also an an individual ..

Both Christians and Muslims believe the Noah ark’s event which took place
more than 4 thousand of years ago. But atheists made mockery of it..
They said, it was impossible for thousands of animal couples and Noah’s followers to be accommodated and fit the small vessel. That was their logic.
Did atheists sure or ver seen how big was Noah’s ship anyway ? 45 meters ? 150 meters long ?
In fact nobody has ever seen it. Not even find it wreck actually. Last month Turkish discovery, yet not specific size was determine.
My logic is that, “impossible” for a septuplet twins to fit their mother’s womb. Don’t they struggle for oxygen and space anyway? However, itusually happened and took place in the past.
Christian says “with God anything possible”. Muslim agrees.
It is possible for anything God wishes to happen, and it is possible also for anything God wishes NOT to happen. Only God knows best..

How ever, it dosen’t mean “with God anything possible” will result in God getting or having a son (by sex or not, whatsoever..). Because it stated in the Quran, God doesn not have son, father mother, brother etc. God condemned those who say “God have a son”.. a blasphemy. Yet the son is also part of a triune God..
Who is actually God then ? Unending polemic. By just believe, then thing is settled..or sweep under the carpet? Lot of questions out there to be replied again and again..

Yea..I think Scott understand and recognized it too. Criticisms must not be misconstrued as sarcastic or hatred “attack”. We should be open enough to criticism. And, as for outsiders, they may not convinced or accept many things from the scripture which are not of their faith; or when they found it to be inconsistence, “contradictions” ,impossible, beyond logic etc.
I didn’t mean you and Robert “attack” per se withound grounds.
As for me, I appreciate open discussion.

Dead Sea Scroll proved Greek OT are not inspired translations and do not preserve words of God.
Look at Septuagint that add their own words and translation to original hebrew words (one good example is isaiah 42:1.)
In Dead Sea Scroll. Nowhere is Yacob mention in that very first verse. And you will never know what other false translation of hebrew words were made in Greek Septuagint; that could lead some to a misguided understanding of one man being part of God.

As for Greek NT. We shall ask where is Logia of Jesus in Aramaic. Where is Matthew’s Aramaic gospel?
P46 (175CE) is Greek manuscript with the largest percentage of difference on record. This just proved that Church have been changing words since early 2nd century at will.
Here is the words of the early church father, Origen (3rd century CE):
“The differences among the manuscripts have become great, either through the negligence of some copyists or through the perverse audacity of others; they either neglect to check over what they have transcribed, or, in the process of checking, they make additions or deletions as they please.” Origen, early church father in “Commentary on Matthew.”
Regarding the oldest surviving fragment, Colin Roberts compared P52 writings using ONLY 5 samples from the early 2nd century CE back in 1935 and concluded based on those 5 samples; P52 was from the early 2nd century.

What I have done is to show that any serious consideration of the window of possible dates for P52 must include dates in the later second and early third centuries. – Brent
Compare 2nd century fragments with 4th century codexes. Things become worst. You will be surprised how Holy Spirit inside the scribes fail to prevent them from changing words of God ever since the very beginning.

Learn about the archeologist who denied Jericho happened. He finally found Jericho and it remains the only city where walls fell outward from a war siege. The archeologist became a Christian by proof.
The dead sea scrolls in Isaiah have only 13 words different over a 2000 year time span. And none of those words change the meaning of the sentence they are in. So much for passing down passages and not being able to keep them accurate.
