Did the Police Move in During Negaraku? Watch Video, You Decide

Khalid Abu Bakar deny video evidence Negaraku Bersih arrests

Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar denies outright that the police moved in to break up a candlelight vigil held on the anniversary of the BERSIH rally, while the ralliers were singing the Malaysian national anthem – Negaraku – and arrested them all:

Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar has denied that the police moved in on participants at a candle-light vigil last night while they were singing the national anthem.

“That is what they (participants) are claiming,” Khalid told reporters at the Petaling Jaya police district headquarters about midnight.

When told that there was a video recording of the police action, Khalid replied: “I am denying it.”

And also, these photos by Ng Boon Hooi.

Haris Ibrahim is covering the police hypocrisy when it comes to political rallies which ‘don’t have a permit’. Videos and links there.

UPDATE: Now he explains it as the protestors using the Negaraku as a shield to avoid arrest.

Flashback reminder too: Chemical-laced water cannon, tear gas and shield bashed used on BERSIH rally, which was criticized by Najib as ‘not Malaysian culture’

But not a peep from the authorities on the massive UMNO protest rally in Penang. Cuh!

The evidence is right there.

In fact, with his unbelieveably flippant and somewhat comical disregard for the laws of physics, Khalid Abu Bakar reminds me of this other famous, reality-denying government servant who wears a funny beret:

Iraqi Information Minister

Iraqi Information Minister, Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf… During the American invasion of Iraq.

Wow, what an uncanny family resemblance! Why, we don’t need a Selangor police chief at all. The former Iraqi Information Minister can do the job just as well. Just look:

Every day that passes, I am surprised again and again by just how much of ignorant fools BN and its underlings assumes the Malaysian populace are. No matter how blatantly lame their excuses and how amateurishly unconvincing their cover-up jobs, they somehow manage to continue giving as lousy a performance as the last time they failed to dupe the public!

They truly exemplify the worst negative aspects of Malaysia Boleh!

A police force used to being little lords won’t change, and if their commanding officer tells it differently, who are we to doubt his word? He is Selangor POLICE CHIEF. Just watch the video, say nothing, but you know what to believe, right?

By the way, who would you call when you’re faced with robbers trying to get into your house? Family, relatives, friends, neighbour… Never the police until it’s all over. That’s the answer the common man gives. However, you won’t need to call the police if there is an “illegal gathering” held by a non-BN organization; they will be there long before any other.

And would you tell the local police station that you’re going on holiday? Don’t answer that.
