You often say that you cannot believe that God exists, since no conclusive evidence that positively proves God’s existence can be found.
Well, similarly, there is still no conclusive evidence that proves global warming is caused by carbon dioxide emissions. There is only a theory and plenty of conjecture, but it has yet to be shown definitively that global temperature rise is caused mainly by carbon dioxide – and not solar fluctuations, water vapour or cosmic rays.
Yet the proponents of CO2-forced temperature theory have already discarded and branded as ‘heretical’ all other theories in the firm belief that their CO2 models are correct.
By believing that global warming is an imminent doomsday, End Times, apocalyptic, armageddonic End of the World… Are they not religiously putting their trust in prophecies based solely on faith, not reason or logic or cold hard evidence?

To the Christians:
It is claimed that global warming is a proven fact, that all evidence points to it, that the vast majority of reputable scientists believe it, and that anyone who does not accept the truth of global warming is a religiously motivated pseudo-juunkscience moron who believes the Earth is flat and the centre of the universe, with the Sun revolving around it.
That is exactly what has been claimed about evolution for the past century.
Does that throw any perspective onto the so-claimed scientific consensus on global warming? Just because the secularists who control the sciences, education system and media say it is true, does not make it the truth.

Open up a newspaper or turn on the TV, and you will find only bad news about global warming. How climate change is jeapordizing our civilization. How more and more evidence points to human-produced carbon dioxide as the threat that will doom us all. How the United Nations and every sane scientist supports drastic measures to curb CO2 emissions.
But before you swallow the brainwash powder they are peddling, consider this:
The mainstream media is controlled by interests with a stake in perpetuating mass paranoia about ‘global warming’. They go to great lengths to discredit critics of the status quo on ‘global warming’, especially independent media. If they could, they would arrest and silence their critics for the crimes of heresy and public disorder against the establishment, which is firmly backed by the silent majority on ‘global warming’.
Now read the above paragraph again, only replace ‘global warming’ with ‘social contract’, political stability’ or ‘peaceful, tensionless race relations’.
I’ll put it to you bluntly: If you don’t believe anything the mainstream, Government Enslaved Media media has to say about politics, crime, social issues, religious issues, peaceful/violent demonstrations, corruption, fairness and justice…
Then why should you believe what it has to indoctrinate you about global warming either? Isn’t an honest pursuit of the truth why you go to non-government moderated sources such as Malaysiakini.com and blogs?

yea yea yea no one ‘knows’ the truth really, and science cannot pass it’s own philosophy, but at the end of the day, I’d rather work towards reducing reliance on fossil fuels or pollutants and go for more sustainable ways of managing wastes, even if it all doesn’t mean doomsday, I’d still want a healthier environment. all these so called debunking of global warming doomsday shit sounds like holier-than thou scientist who has nothing much to offer society apart from empty intellectual excercises. sure al gore is a hypocrite.. so are all of us in the strictest sense. debunk doomsday myth if we may, but don’t forget the real environmental issues that came with it.

So go ahead and reduce your reliance on fossil fuels and pollutants. Just don’t try to force your reductions onto the developing world that haven’t had the luxury of becoming rich enough to afford reducing CO2 emissions.

Brocolli, it’s all good and happy to reduce energy use, pollution and fossil fuel use (especially if it kicks the Terror Oil States in the nuts!).
But frankly, the methods promoted by Al Gore, the IPCC and the ongoing Bali talks are NOT a smart idea. We simply don’t have the infrastructure and technology to reduce our carbon output so quickly, without suffering massive losses.
To wit: Kyoto is costing billions and yet will only reduce the temperature by just 0.001 degree Celcius for every 150 billion spent. So worthless!
We would be much better off developing ‘green, clean’ energy infrastructure first. It may take a decade or so, but once wind/solar/nuclear energy is sufficient, businesses will naturally switch to them as oil and coal rise in price.
For example, the Bussard Fusion reactor would cost just a few hundred million to prove and build… And it’d use plentiful fuel to provide almost limitless, emissionless energy with no radiation! Perfect!

Meanwhile, Al Gore stands to earn tons of cash for passing pollution around the table, without actually reducing any of it.
So you see, even if the global warming paranoia IS REAL, Kyoto Protocol and Bali and Al Gore have the WRONG course of action to take.
By forcing the world to slash CO2 emissions when it’s not ready, carbon caps will only hamper future effective efforts by hamstringing the economy. Without cash, how will we pay for new energy technology and build new clean power stations?
It’s like throwing a kid into the deep end of the pool before teaching him to even hold his breath, let alone swim.
Bottom line: Global warming distracts from the REAL environmental causes. The skeptics are doing you all a favour by debunking them. Environmentalist ought to be joining in; some already are.

You betcha, wrt to being sorta held to ransome by ’em.
You will also remember that in recent years, new cars that were sold in M’sia use those environmental friendly air conditioner gas that went for 4 – 5 times the price of the previous one. What kind of imposed fleecing is this for consumers ? And way before this has become really mandatory. Another added imposition on car owners (not as if everyone who owns a car is well-off or the income is that high) in M’sia where the prices for cars are about double that elsewhere everywhere in the region because of government protectionism. So, if your air-cond system leaks(they always do with use, unlike the case with a household refrigerator), every motorist faces extra recurrent costs. Very quietedly done, this.

Then there`s the great environmentalist scientist in Oz who has proposed that the parents of all babies being born should be taxed AUS$5,000 as carbon tax. Another idiot who wishes he never was born. Probly wouldn`t have been if the frenchie his father had worn, had not torn.
This is the nuttiness that these environmentalists have descended into.

I`m all for research into alternate fuels, but not this blardy kyoto rubbish. The UN has been a failure all round, and is now attempting to recoup its image thru this new `climate change` religion.

wits0, so unfortnately true…
It’s one thing to force us to buy local by imposing mega-tariffs on foreign cars…
It’s another thing that the local cars are pretty lousy with pieces breaking down and falling off everywhere (except for the engines which are based on foreign tech)…
It’s yet another thing that we citizens have to PAY to keep PROTON afloat as it does badly despite its unfair advantage…
And yet another thing that despite all this government intervention, Malaysians buying locally-made cars actually spend more of their salary, compared to other countries’ citizens buying cars with their own salary…
And it’s a total mess when PERODUA, which has been consistently kicking PROTON’s butt in car sales is denied its deserved status as the national car company (look at Perodua Kancil and Myvi, versus Proton Savvy which is so low I bump my head leaning back in the rear seat).
