THE HANDS THAT GUIDE THEIR HANDS

“There are the hands that made us, and then there are the hands that guide their hands.”

Calvinists would take this quote as saying, God decrees that people carry out evil – not just allowed or used it.

NonCalvinists would take this quote as saying, God knows the evil that people will freely choose to carry out – but works out a way to turn it to good.

The difference in how James White and William Lane Craig approach Genesis 50:20 during their discussion on Unbelievable should suffice as example:

THE CALVINIST-TURNED-APOSTATE ‘NATURAL MAN’ DILEMMA

Calvinists use 1 Cor 2:14 as a prooftext for Total Inability. Natural man = unbeliever, they cannot understand spiritual things, hence they cannot accept the Gospel. Only God first regenerating them into spiritual man enables them to understand and accept the Gospel.

However, Calvinists turned apostates like Derek Webb, Tyler Vela, Megan Phelps, Edwin Curley, etc continue to espouse Calvinism as what the Bible teaches. As abovementioned, this falls under spiritual things.

But if Calvinism is true, then they as unbelievers are natural man = cannot understanding spiritual things = their view that the Bible teaches Calvinism is false. Therefore, Calvinism is actually false.

Of course, we believe Calvinism is not true and their interpretation of 1 Cor 2:14 is way off. Calvinism is actually false.

So either way… Calvinism is actually false.
