Global Warming = More Kittens!!!

November 30, 07

Global warming does something good: More cuddly and loveable kitties witties!!!

So says the report by Pets Across America, a national pets adoption group:

—————

GLOBAL WARMING KEY FACTOR IN INCREASE OF CAT POPULATION
Increasing temperatures across country major factor as cat populations rise at alarming rates

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 6, 2007) — These days cats outnumber dogs by 13.5 million and that
number is growing. Today more than ever, animal shelters across the United States are reporting skyrocketing influxes of cats and kittens being brought into their agencies. Many believe global warming is extending cat breeding seasons and causing the cat population to swell.

According to Kathy Warnick, president of Pets Across America — the largest umbrella organization for animal shelters serving more than 130 million people, global warming is thought to be a contributing factor to the dramatic increase of stray, owned, and feral cats.

“Cats are typically warm-weather, spring-time breeders,” reminds Warnick, who also serves as
president of the Humane Society of Missouri. “However, states that typically experience primarily longer and colder winters are now seeing shorter, warmer winters, leading to year-round breeding. Basically, there is no longer a reproduction lull with cat breeding cycles and unfortunately, it seems more people are bringing boxes of kittens into our agencies during winter now.”

Across the nation, shelters are reporting spikes in their cat and kitten intakes. Several Pets Across America shelters experienced an increase of more than 30 percent from 2005 to 2006. The organization associates their steady increase of cat intake — a startling 7 percent last year alone — to likely be an example of how warmer climates really do affect the number of cats breeding more frequently.

“We have long discussed the benefits of spaying and neutering cats. It is likely that global warming is probably not going to be slowing any time soon, therefore, it benefits everyone when pet owners take action and spay and neuter their pet,” says Bob Rohde, vice-president of Pets Across America and president of the Dumb Friends League in Denver, Colo.

Too many kittehs! (Is such a things exists?)

But it couldn’t possibly be because of irresponsible pet owners, increased food resources or any other reasons. It must be GLOBUL WARMINGS!!!

After all, global warming is the cause of EVERYTHING EVER!!!

But at least that means more cute kitties, more warm cuddlies, and more lolcats for your awwwsocute-hahaha viewing pleasure:

Brian De Palma’s Redacted Rejected by Audiences

November 29, 07

UPDATE: Great work De Palma, you’ve achieved your goal: Arid Uka shoots and kills two American servicemen at Frankfurt Airport after mistaking the film’s rape scene for reality.

RedactedRejectedPoster

Brian De Palma’s Redacted is touted as the ‘true face of the US armed forces in Iraq’, and focuses on the horrific Mahmudiyah killings where five US soldiers raped a 14-year old Iraqi girl and killed her and her family.

Director De Palma makes no secret about the reason he made such a movie: “The movie is an attempt to bring the reality of what is happening in Iraq to the American people. The pictures are what will stop the war. One only hopes that these images will get the public incensed enough to motivate their Congressmen to vote against this war.”

Unfortunately for him and producer Mark Cuban, hardly anyone went to see the smearfest that passes for a Hollywood documentary drama – let alone any members of Congress.

The New York Post reports that the vomit-inducing snuff porn film took in a pathetic USD 25,628 in its opening weekend in the only 15 theaters insane enough to carry it.

That’s an average of USD 1708 per theatre. That also means that roughly only 3,000 people were tricked into seeing it in the entire country.

Or to put it another way, it earned 1,000 times less than Beowulf did. De Palma chickened out of buying the rights to the film back from Mark Cuban.

The proof to me that De Palma made the film solely as an anti-military piece, and NOT an accurate docu-drama, is that he didn’t even include the usual ‘epilogue text’ that tells what happened to the characters after the film plot finishes.

By the time De Palma made Redacted, all five of the soldiers involved in the case had already been arrested and charged.

Three have been tried and sentenced to 90, 100 and 110 years in prison. The alleged ringleader, is being tried in a federal court and is reportedly facing the death penalty.

But instead of portraying the American military’s zero tolerance policy and harsh punishment of war crimes, the director intentionally leaves the plot unresolved.

He chooses instead to show photos of Iraqis who died – likely due to terrorist attacks – to further stir up terrorist sentiment.

Rather than focus on the newly restored of hope and peace in Iraq, or the stunning defeats of the terrorists, or even common Iraqis turning against the forces of chaos

Mark Cuban and Brian De Palma choose to focus on one ugly incident out of the four years of exemplary peacebringing efforts.

On five depraved beasts-in-men’s-guises out of the more than 400,000 troops who have protected Iraqi civilians from Al-Qaeda thugs.

And they call it a ‘realistic portrayal of U.S. troops’. Utter bullcrap. It is not even a complete account of five petty rapists and murderers, let alone the overwhelmingly positive presence of the U.S. troops in now-stabilized Iraq.

As Bill O’Reilly says, Cuban and De Palma don’t give a damn whether such a biased and narrow-viewed portrayal of the situation in Iraq will be used to rile up more terrorist sentiment against the West.

As Debbie Schlussel says, there ain’t no stretch of the truth that can makes Redacted a ‘patriotic’ movie the way Mark Cuban LSD-trips it is.

As Michael Fumento says, Hollywood routinely replaces reality with politically-skewed hallucinations which serve to dull audiences to the truth of who the real villians and evil men are.

As JD Johannes says, anti-warm films are a pathetic attempt by cowardly men to convince the rest of the populace to be just as cowardly – assuaging the fragile self-worth of the Hollywood invertebrates.

But terrorist-sympathetic directors and producers like them will be forced to give a damn sooner or later, because anti-war, anti-American films produced by Americans are being rejected wholesale by American audiences.

The Kingdom? Money-loser. Lions For Lambs? Flop. In the Valley of Elah? Flop. No End in Sight? Flop. Rendition? 400% flop. Flop flop flop.

And of course… Redacted???

MEGA FLOP.

After all, do anti-war directors really expect American audiences to throw hard-earned money into some rich hypocrite’s pocket so they can be told how evil and horrible Americans are for two hours?

Update 6 May 2008: Compare with Iron Man, a superhero film about Americans killing terrorists, takes in 100 million in one weekend.

First World or Third World? Look at Who Uses Violence During Protests

November 28, 07

How do you tell whether a country is First World / Developed or Third World / Developing?

One way is by looking at the relationship between citizen protestors and the government controlled forces.

In a Third World country, no matter how peaceful and orderly the protestors may be, the government can respond with sudden and shocking violence. The government brutally abuses the citizenry.

A few cases in point:

Bersih Rally

HINDRAF protests

Burmese anti-government protests

Post with a list of details and links of raging, screaming riots over perceived insults

Whereas is a First World country, no matter how violent and unruly the protestors may be, the government must respond with restraint and even self-sacrificial, self-defeating concessions. The citizenry brutally abuses the government.

A few cases in point:

Paris riots year after year (by Michelle Malkin)
2007: Flambée de violence: “Youths” now shooting at police; “This is war. There is no mercy. We want at least two policemen dead.”
2007: Is Paris burning again?
2006: Muslim mayhem in Marseille
2005: FRANCE: STILL BURNING

Western Amsterdam riots: After a youth is shot while attacking policewomen with a knife, civilians start rioting, burning dozens of cars including right in front of the police station. And the police do… NOTHING.

Gateway Pundit: Rioting Continues in Western Amsterdam
Klein Verzet: Suicide Attack in Amsterdam (long running updated commetary onunfolding events)

Olympia ‘anti-war’ protests
Sedition in Olympia: Anti-war mom drops baby human shield as anarchist kiddie shields watch
Seditious outrage in Olympia: Protesters block trucks, pour concrete on train tracks to stop military shipments
(Then again… Lolz!)

Other:
Anti-WTO protestors turn violent

Yeesh! The more I read, the more it feels like Iraq is the safest, most orderly place to be

This post is as much an indictment of the culture of violence in First World citizens as it is a criticism of Third World governments. Neither is an acceptable form of discourse in my book.

As judged by the who-uses-violence criteria, Malaysia is still firmly Third World mentality although surrounded by (occasional and rather concentrated only in a few places) First World standard infrastructure.

But despite my disgust at the despotic use of violence and the threat of violence against the citizenry by the government, I hope that Malaysia never develops into a First World nation where the citizens can run amok and cause even worse destruction.

Badawi Will Use ISA on Street Protestors If Needed

November 28, 07

So it’s finally coming to pass. Once again when popular dissent begins to well up, it is immediately and foribly quashed by use of the Internal Security Act.

My comments after the news excerpt.

————–

From The Star 28 Nov 2007:

   BadawiUseISAonProtestors1   BadawiUseISAonProtestors2   BadawiUseISAonProtestors3

We will use Act against street protestors if we have to, says PM

PETALING JAYA: The Government will use the Internal Security Act (ISA) against street demonstrators who threaten national security and disrupt racial harmony if necessary, warned the Prime Minister.

“If there are reasons for us to use it, we will use it,” Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi stressed.

He was commenting on illegal street demonstrations held in Kuala Lumpur recently, including the latest by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf), which claims to be fighting for the Hindus in Malaysia.

Abdullah said using the law, which allows for detention without trial, would be preventive action to spare the country untoward incidents that could affect its peace and national security.

“The ISA is there, if the situation warrants it, it will be used,” he told reporters at the RMAF air base in Subang here upon his return from Cairo yesterday.

On calls by certain quarters for the ISA to be invoked against illegal street demonstrators, Abdullah said: “I am very surprised that people want the ISA. I thought they never wanted it.”

The police, he said, would decide on the appropriate action to be taken.

On rallies being planned for next month, he said he would leave it to the police to assess whether they would be a threat to national security.

The annual Human Rights March organised by the Bar Council human rights committee is planned for next month.

Abdullah also warned that action would be taken against those who download and distribute the memorandum signed by Hindraf legal adviser lawyer P. Uthayakumar addressed to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, which had been published in the Internet. The memorandum alleges persecution of Malaysian Indians..

He said the Government acknowledged freedom of the Internet but action could be taken against those who misuse it to spread allegations against the Government.

The memorandum appeals to Britain to refer Malaysia to the World Court for crimes against ethnic Indians. It also claimed that “100 over Indians were slashed and killed by the Umno-controlled Malaysian government in the Kampung Medan mini genocide”.

To this, Abdullah said that if Hindraf had indeed made such claim, Umno would act.

“We want to know what proof they have (to support their claim). This is a serious accusation because they say it was Umno,” he said.

On Hindraf’s action, he said: “They want to kiss the orang putih (British). They want the orang putih to take action because they are not satisfied with us”.

Abdullah said Hindraf got support from the Indian community who thought they would each get RM1mil in compensation from its class-action suit filed against the British Government for bringing Indians into Malaya to work as labourers.

The Prime Minister also said that everyone must realise that accusations against the Government were made because certain people thought that the election was around the corner, and this was the case in every elections.

“But we hear what they say. Some of the demands are in the process of being addressed while some have been addressed but they are still harping on it,” he said.

On Cameron Highlands MP S.K. Devamany’s comment in Parliament that the Hindraf demonstration showed there was frustration at the lower levels in the community, Abdullah said the Government must be fair to all.

“If we focus on the interest of one group, others will be jealous, others will complain,” he said.

——————–

News article excerpts in bold italic. My analysis and comments follow each excerpt.

The Government will use the Internal Security Act (ISA) against street demonstrators who threaten national security and disrupt racial harmony if necessary, warned the Prime Minister.

‘Racial harmony’… UMNO’s particular definition of what constitutes ‘racial harmony’ would partly explain why the Government felt it could use the ISA on the HINDRAF protestors, who were probably exclusively Indian.

Whereas for the multi-racial Bersih Rally, they kept their hands off – instead using just chemical-laced water cannon, tear gas and shield bashes (as seen below and at link).

    BersihFRUShieldBash

But as I’ve said before, it’s classic double standards and flip-flop stance shifting: The historic anti-Malayan Union protests were also almost exclusively Malays protesting for Malay rights. Should they then have been discounted, ignored and abused by the British before being arrested without trial?

On calls by certain quarters for the ISA to be invoked against illegal street demonstrators, Abdullah said: “I am very surprised that people want the ISA. I thought they never wanted it.”

I am not at all surprised, except at the (faked?) naivete of our PM. Of course certain quarters are calling for the use of the ISA. If you were to name them, you would find all the supremacists of certain groups, government cronies and political powermongers – not ordinary everyday folk who are at the mercy of sudden midnight detention.

On rallies being planned for next month, he said he would leave it to the police to assess whether they would be a threat to national security.

A real threat to national security, or just a political threat to Barisan Nasional power security?

Abdullah also warned that action would be taken against those who download and distribute the memorandum signed by Hindraf legal adviser lawyer P. Uthayakumar addressed to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, which had been published in the Internet. The memorandum alleges persecution of Malaysian Indians.

Here is where the bloggers are being indirectly threatened for not succumbing to Government Enslavement of the Media (GEM).

He said the Government acknowledged freedom of the Internet but action could be taken against those who misuse it to spread allegations against the Government.

Whoops, what was I just saying? Time for EVERY SINGLE BLOGGER WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT BARISAN NASIONAL to be arrested – because all of us have at least one allegation against the ruling party!!!

Claims such as the ones in this link I suppose.

On Hindraf’s action, he said: “They want to kiss the orang putih (British). They want the orang putih to take action because they are not satisfied with us”.

Absolutely spot on. Badawi seems to realize that the actual aim of the high-profile and quite absurd lawsuit against Britain was actually to highlight the grievances that many Malaysians have against the MALAYSIAN government!

The Prime Minister also said that everyone must realise that accusations against the Government were made because certain people thought that the election was around the corner, and this was the case in every elections.

Accusations are made continually, good sirs. It is just around election time that any of you bother to listen for grievances.

And after listening to our woes, your Deputy responds that we shouldn’t vote against Barisan even if we are dissatisfied with what it’s been doing to us!

“But we hear what they say. Some of the demands are in the process of being addressed while some have been addressed but they are still harping on it,” he said.

It’s been more than 40 years since Lee Kuan Yew got Singapore kicked out by demanding equal rights for all (all races, religions and even the Malay farmers and fishermen who gain nothing from rich Malay bigshots getting more % of the fat contracts) in a truly Malayasian Malaysia, a call which DAP is continuing up till today. (But not before some 1960’s Government Enslaved Media riot incitement, of course.)

The issue still has not been addressed. Is it any wonder then that there are still people harping on it?

Actually, it’s a minor miracle that there ARE still people who dare to raise the issue after the May 13 1969 incident, Ops Lalang in 1987, the recent Bersih Rally and HINDRAF rally police violence, and the repeated threats to bring back the bloodshed of Malaysia’s minorities.

THEN WHY DON’T YOU START TREATING ALL MALAYSIANS FAIRLY REGARDLESS OF RACE AND RELIGION??!!!

WE’RE JEALOUS RIGHT NOW!!! WE’RE COMPLAINING RIGHT NOW!!!

BUT ALL YOU DO IS SPOUT FUZZY RHETORIC WHILE WAVING THE THREAT OF THE ISA IN OUR FACES!!!

Iraqi Bride of Terror

November 28, 07

Because the burqa is huge, dark, face-concealing and all-enveloping… And because women are not supposed to be approached by men in a strict Islamic society… Male terrorists have often dressed in burqas and pretended to be women in order to escape detection.

A few sample cases:

Macho and lead-by-example Taliban leader tries escape then ambush from under a burqa.

A whole bunch of them.

Brave and defiant Red Mosque siege leader tries to escape dresses as a woman.

Courageous and honorable Hamas gunmen call on women to come and be human shields, escape among them by dressing as women. Also at this link.

Unbending and pious Taliban commander disguised in burqa.

It’s getting so widespread, that the UN worries transgenders will have problems!!!

Selfless and righteous foreign terrorists cross from Syria to Iraq, pull weapons out of their dresses.

Burqua Bomber Blown Away Before Going Boom:

Many more examples at Michelle Malkin, and The Jawa Report here, here, here, and here.

Two burqa-clad suicide bombers try to blow up a police station, but get shot up before they can detonate.

But this one via The Jawa Report really takes the cake… THE WEDDING CAKE!!!

Lolz! Be sure to read the comments at the Jawa link, such as these fine examples below:

Evil Bush regime bans gay marriage… in foreign country! – Kevin

Two in burqas kill 32 poor people

——————-

From CNN:

Soldiers manning a checkpoint near Baghdad stopped a wedding convoy to find that the purported bride and groom were wanted terror suspects.

The soldiers became suspicious of the convoy because its members — save the “bride” — were all male and because one of the cars in the convoy did not heed orders to stop.

The people in the car seemed nervous and the groom refused to lift his bride’s veil when soldiers asked him to.

Soldiers ordered everyone out of the car.

Upon inspecting the convoy, soldiers found a stubbly-faced man, Haider al-Bahadli, decked out in a white bride’s dress and veil.

Bahadli was wanted on terror-related charges, as was his groom, Abbas al-Dobbi.

Two other terror-related suspects were detained as well.

———————

Anyway, dressing up in drag doesn’t guarantee a successful suicide-bombing/cowardly escape from a real battle (since for self-proclaimed ‘brave warriors unafraid of death’, jihadis seem strangely averse to head-on confrontations).

Women can search women, as long as they are empowered in a way strict Islamic societies do not empower them.

Excerpted from The Jawa Report:

Adhamiyah Women Join Volunteer Guard Force

BAGHDAD — In a well-lit meeting room in a government building in the Iraqi capital, 20 Iraqi women were sitting in a circle, intently watching the demonstration in the center of the room.

These women were learning how to lock and load an AK-47.

As members of the first class of female security volunteers in Adhamiyah, all 51 women in the class were groundbreakers. The women will join hundreds of male residents that are already helping secure Adhamiyah by guarding important public sites like schools, hospitals, and government buildings.

The necessity to have female security guards became clear earlier this month when a female suicide bomber was able to enter a public building without being searched in nearby Fadhil and blew her explosive vest up, killing several people.

In Iraq, cultural sensitivities preclude men from searching women. But there is nothing stopping a woman from searching another woman.

Proper search procedures are one such skill area. On the second day of training, Cook demonstrated search techniques for the group. The class began with nervous titters among the Adhamiyah women, who blushed and looked away when Cook showed how to search sensitive areas.

But when Cook showed them how easy it is to hide a weapon if a thorough search isn’t conducted, the women stopped being timid and started really shaking each other down during role-playing exercises.

Then again… It could just be that Islamo-fascists extremists dress that way because, deep down inside, they are actually teh uber ghey:

He Can Do But I Cannot Do… How Come One???

November 27, 07

Oi, Malaysian gahmen! Can please explain to me why like this one?

How come when have street demonstration for fair elections it is ‘not our culture’, but when have street demonstration against Malayan Union it is important cultural and historical heritage?

How come when want to have gathering at British High Commission to make noise about British policy must arrest us for sedition, but when have gathering to burn flag at American embassy to make noise about American policy you can allow?

How come when we write blogs about real things we are called lying femalesunemployed good-for-nothings, karaoke singers, goblok, and monkeys, but gahmen bigshots can quote fake blogs in International Court of Justice?

How come when South Africa got apartheid Mahathir make big complaint and helped to end it, but when his daughter say Malaysia system is like apartheid he keep quiet and continue it? (Don’t forget us also Marina, not just Muslim women discriminated!)

How come when Barisan bigshots make jokes about woman’s monthly leakage everybody laugh, but when Opposition small potato asks Barisan guy not to be rude everybody scold?

British Woman To Be Whipped and Jailed Because Students Named A Teddy Bear Mohammed

November 27, 07

UPDATE 30 Nov 2007: After teacher is jailed, mob of thousands scream for her blood to be spilled (plus, more editorial cartoons and mockery).

Gillian Gibbons is a 54 year old primary school teacher in Sudan. as part of school curriculum, she asked the class to ‘adopt’ a teddy bear. The teddy needed a name, so she allowed the children to decide what to name it.

The 23 children suggested 8 names including Abdullah, Hassan and Mohammed. Then they voted, and 20 of the children chose Mohammed. (Seriously, what names can you expect them to think up when every single male Muslim is named Mohammed? It’s their very way of life!)

And for this, Gillian Gibbons is under arrest for insulting the name of Islam’s prophet, insulting Islam itself, and attempting to make an image of Islam’s prophet.

The school also has been closed down temporarily for fear of violent attacks.

See below the following news excerpt for more cases of incedible injustice running amok.

Hat tip to Moonbattery. Also at Michelle Malkin who also links to other outrage-in-a-can cases, with her updates at here, and further here and here.

From Daily Telegraph:

Briton faces lashes in Sudan over teddy named Mohammed

By Caroline Gammell and Aislinn Simpson
Last Updated: 5:46pm GMT 26/11/2007

A British primary school teacher in Sudan is facing 40 lashes and up to six months in prison after allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear after the prophet Mohammed.

Colleagues of Gillian Gibbons, 54, claim she made an “innocent mistake” by allowing the class of seven year-olds to choose the name. But she has been accused of insulting Islam’s holiest prophet, arrested and imprisoned.

If charged and found guilty of blasphemy she faces punishment under Sharia law.

Her actions have sparked protests in Sudan and have forced the school to close until January for fear of reprisals.

The divorced mother-of-two from Liverpool is being held at a police station in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum, and there were reports that an angry mob had gathered.

As the Foreign Office tried to resolve the situation, Miss Gibbons was visited by consular staff who described her as well, despite her ordeal.

Miss Gibbons had been working at Unity High School – popular with wealthy Sudanese and expatriates – since August, after leaving her position as deputy headteacher at Dovecot Primary School in Liverpool this summer.

However, trouble flared after she let her class choose a name for the stuffed bear as part of a school project.

She was teaching her Year 2 class about animals and their habitats as part of the school’s British-style national curriculum.

She asked one of the female pupils to bring in a teddy bear and asked the students to name it. “They came up with eight names including Abdullah, Hassan and Mohammed,” said the school’s director, Robert Boulos

Twenty of the 23 children opted for Mohammed and the toy was taken home by a different pupil each weekend to record a diary of the bear’s “activities”.

Mr Boulos said the diary entries were written in a book which bore a picture of the bear and the words “My Name is Mohammed”.

It is seen as an insult to Islam to attempt to make an image of the Prophet Mohammed, but Mr Boulos said nothing was written on the bear itself.

Several Muslim parents complained to the Ministry of Education and on Sunday, Sudanese police arrested her at her home on the school premises.

Mr Boulos insisted Miss Gibbons had not meant to offend anyone but said the school would remain closed until January for fear of reprisals.

“She has done nothing wrong but now we are very concerned that there’s a risk to the school and the students from the men in the street,” Mr Boulos said.

The police have confiscated the diary and plan to interview the little girl who owned the bear.

A source close to the school said one teacher was angered by the naming of the toy and complained to the headmistress, who is European. “According to what I was told, she belongs to one of the established conservative families in Khartoum.”

But a Muslim teacher at Unity, who also has a child in Miss Gibbons’ class, said she had not found the project offensive: “I know Gillian and she would never have meant it as an insult.”

The country’s state-controlled Sudanese Media Centre said Miss Gibbons was arrested “under article 125 of the criminal law”, on suspicion of insulting faith and religion.

Unity, founded in 1902, is an independent school for Christian and Muslim children aged four to 18 and is governed by a board representing major Christian denominations in Sudan.

Miss Gibbons, who separated from her husband Peter in December 2006 after more than 20 years, is one of several Western teachers who work at the school.

The couple have two children Jessica, 27, – also a teacher – and John, 25, and used to live in the Aigburth area of Liverpool.

Former neighbour Peter Sorensen, 64, said: “Everyone is shocked to hear that Gillian has been arrested in Sudan. We can only think that it’s all a huge mistake, I’m sure she would never have done anything deliberately to insult the Muslim faith.

“We are very worried about the kind of conditions she is subjected to. Being held in police cell in Khartoum must be an horrendous experience.”

Mr Sorensen said Miss Gibbons had planned to be in Africa for two years but was hoping to come home for Christmas.

Headteacher of Dovecot Primary School Gillian Jones said: “We are all thinking of her at this difficult time and are absolutely certain that there is no way that she will have done anything to intentionally insult any religion.”

So once again, sharia literalists, Islamic extremists and ignorant ordinary folk are punishing people for things they did not do and ‘crimes’ they were not responsible for.

Recall how in an eerily reminiscent scenario, Muslims in Nigeria were becamed enraged and went on riots, attacking churches and blaming and killing Christians.

Why? Because they were angry over a cartoon depicting a boy holding a cat. When asked the name of his cat, the boy innocently replies: Mohammad Cat. (Again, what can you expect when every male such a child would know is named Mohammad something?)

                    BangladeshMohammadCatCartoon

And the cartoon was published published in BANGLADESH, drawn by a MUSLIM!!! So obviously, the correct over-reaction is to kill Christians for the perceived insult to Islam and its prophet. Because Christians must obviously be to blame for cultures where men are all named Mohammad.

Recall close to home, how the Maria Hertogh riots in Singapore 1950 were triggered by a court giving custody of a 13-year old girl to her Catholic biological parents, ovr her Muslim foster mother. Particularly, a photo of Maria in the same shot as a statue of Mother Mary and intentionally flames-fanning Malay newspaper coverage brought it to boiling point. (So tell me, when have you seen outraged citizens raging rampantly over Lina Joy, or Mount Everest hero Maniam Moorthy, or an Orang Asli church being torn down?

Also recall how an Egyptian woman was sentenced to 3 years jail for stating that she’s a Christian. It was considered a crime because when her father converted to Islam when she was 2 years old, that made her automatically a Muslim as well. Never mind that she had no idea such a thing transpired – she’s a woman, she’s obviously at fault (as our dear ol’ Nik Aziz would argue).

And how a Saudi woman was whipped 200 times and jailed six months… For being gang raped, and for protesting the unfairness of the original verdict of 90 lashes. Her assailants get away with 1 to 5 years jail.

And how drawings of Mohammad in a Danish newspapers is taken as justified cause for ‘offended Muslims’ to riot and murder people across the world. Never mind that most of the property damage and loss of life is to other Muslims. Rioting is obviously great fun. And never mind that the cartoons did not cause much controversy until Muslims added on much worse images to better stir up anger against the real cartoons.

And how Muslim protestors rioted and attacked people, causing much destruction and murdering dozens of innocent and unknowing people worldwide… Because of their anger over a hoax about Qurans being desecrated .

BibliocideKoranDesecrate

And how a burned Quran left at a mosque caused a stir as a possible hate crime… Until it was revealed that the perpatrator was a Muslim who didn’t know how to dispose of an old Quran properly, so left it for the mosque to take care of.

And even in our very own Malaysia, where a rapper’s lyrics poking at a cultural practice is taken as just cause for a fatwa-ish death threat.

With such protests-turned-violent becoming such a regular affair, with flare-ups at every single existent and even non-existent thing, is it any wonder that some critics mockingly use the term Religion of Perpetual Outrage?

Or have great fun parading and parodying the stereotyped image of the protestor as found in the Islamic Rage Boy?

All I can say is, such disrespect and lack of respect will not stop until the violent over-reaction against the wrong persons stops.

At least punish the actual culprits. That would at least resemble real justice.

NST: Global Warming: Positive Benefits From A Hotter Planet

November 26, 07

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the NST head editors are global warming skeptics. First NST: Nobel Peace Prize: Another Side to Gore’s Efforts to Combat Global Warming, and then especially NST Letters: Global warming: Inconvenient Truths of Another Kind, and now the following. (Although the term ‘positive benefits’ is somewhat redundant…)

The accompanying photo and caption for the latter two, which are chosen by the NST editors, are what really sells the skeptical editors idea to me.

Well, it’s definitely welcome news if at least one of the main local news media has not succumbed to the popular but fallacious consensus myths of anthropogenic global warming.

Kudos to the New Straits Times!

Global warming: Positive benefits from a hotter planet

By : SCOTT THONG YU YUEN, Ipoh

Antarctic ice comprises 85 per cent of the ice in the world.
Antarctic ice comprises 85 per cent of the ice in the world.

A UNITED Nations scientific panel has just released yet another warning about the perils of global warming. This latest report is the most frightening yet, with predictions of massive flooding, droughts, starvation and extinction.

This is actually nothing new, because over and over, the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Al Gore and other proponents highlight the negative aspects of global warming while ignoring the positive aspects.

They trumpet melting Arctic ice as a portent of rising sea levels, while ignoring the increasing Antarctic ice that comprises 85 per cent of the ice in the world. They warn that less ice means less sunlight reflected into space, while keeping quiet about the increased evaporation, creating more clouds to block that hot sunlight. Warmer temperatures will lead to more sea evaporation, more clouds and more rainfall.

They lament the struggles of human-beloved species that prefer cooler climes, while turning a blind eye to the spread of other desirable species that thrive in warmer temperatures. After all, the warm tropics have the greatest biodiversity of any ecosystem.

They shed tears over the predicted increase in deaths due to hotter summers, while leaving out the reduction in deaths due to less cold winters in the IPCC reports.

They decry the effects that purportedly drier weather will have on agriculture, while neglecting to mention the longer growing season that will be permitted by warmer temperatures, nor the increased precipitation.Greenland today is frozen in ice, but at one time, it was warm enough to plant vineyards in, hence the “green” in its name.

They hysterically point out fractional rises in recent temperatures, while discarding centuries of documentation that show much warmer temperatures.

So, if the majority of people are afraid that global warming is causing catastrophic negative impacts on our way of life, it’s no wonder at all. Talk about the global warming issue is skewed towards alarmism.

Only one side of the climate coin is ever shown to the audience, as the global warming hucksters seek to manipulate public perception to support their flawed methodologies and politically-biased conclusions.

But just like the rest of the facts that do not agree with the pre-concluded “consensus” on global warming, such revelations are thrown into the dark hole of intentional ignorance.
