Ann Coulter at CPAC 2011

February 14, 11

Via Gateway Pundit, from Freedom’s Lighthouse:

And my selection of the most snarky and piercing quotes:

From her speech:

But you know, if they wanna get rid of overbearing, out of touch despots… Could we start with Janet Napolitano?

Mubarak supports US policy, used his army to fight Islamic terrorists, and he recognized Israel’s right to exist. Or as liberals call it: Three strike and you’re out.

In some pro-Ahmadinejad districts the voting was over 100%… Oh no, wait, I’m sorry – I was thinking of Al Franken’s election in Minnesota.

But Egyptians take to the streets and start decapitating mummies, and Obama says “We hear your voices.” He hears their voices? He couldn’t even hear our voices and we were protesting on the streets on Washington D.C.!

For 50 years, Democrats have harbored traitors, hobnobbed with America’s enemies, attacked America’s allies, lost wars, lost continents to Communism… As Joe McCarthy put it, if they were merely stupid, the laws of probability would dictate that at least some of their decisions served the interests of the United States.

Under mean, divisive George Bush, a nuclear sub was named after Jimmy Carter – the USS Jimmy Carter. It’s a good sub, but there were some problems – its periscope works only in hindsight, life rafts are subject to hyperinflation, and whenever it’s in a US port it immediately attacks the United States.

For the young people in the audience, now you know why when people compare Obama to Jimmy Carter, it’s not a compliment.

[Obama] got into office and immediately turned over our healthcare to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Now, those interminable lines at the DMV, imagine you’re standing in one of the lines but this time you’re in one of those hospital gowns that’s open in the back – that’s Obamacare!

Obama says the price of health insurance will come down if only it’s mandatory. It’s like the guy has never ordered food from a hotel before. When you have no choice, does the price go up or down?

And now Republicans are gonna have to repeal national healthcare just so we can find out what’s not in it.

I love this argument that we need a ‘path to citizenship’. Path to citizenship – we have a path to citizenship, it’s called legal immigration.

But the strangest thing was seeing Obama not on a golf course. Everytime I look up the guy’s on a golf course – it’s like he’s trying to get his handicap down below his approval numbers.

—————————–

From her question and answer session (which has more serious discussion than her for-amusement speech):

Q: What is more important though to American values – being friends with Israel still, or knowing that there are jailed dissidents and journalists?
A: ……….What do you mean, knowing that there are journalists? I think there should be MORE jailed journalists! [Said with a completely straight face!]

Ann: That’s why you need an observant electorate – very bad for the Democrats, very good for the Republicans.

Ann: Don’t be like a politician and take a poll and then decide what your position is – the truth is inherently appealing.

Q: Who is your least favourite Democrat?
A: Oh boy! That’s like asking my least favourite disease!

Ann: And by the way, congratulations liberals, you just about destroyed the black family with these brilliant promotions of single motherhood policies.

Ann: I was always friend of the gays… Then liberals come with this idea no one’s thought of for a thousand years – gay marriage. And I go to sleep one night being friend of the gays, I wake up the next day [a] homophobe! No! You can’t do that – you just made up this gay marriage thing.

Ann: [Gay marriage] has nothing to do with [liberals] liking gays – they don’t mind their little pals the Islamic terrorists dropping walls on gays. No, only to use gays as a cat’s paw to attack the family. Because liberals want the family destroyed, they want religion destroyed, because then you have loyalty directly to the state.

Ann: God is saying to gays what He said to Abraham – give up something you love for Me. That’s a tough cross to bear and I admire gays who do it.

Ann: The left is trying to co-opt gays and I don’t think we should let them. They should be on our side – we’re for low taxes, we’re against crime, we’re against the terrorists who wanna kill gays. Gays are natural conservatives.

Ann Coulter’s Statistics on Single Motherhood (and the Suffering it Causes)

April 16, 09

Sourced from Right Wing News, here are statistics from Ann Coulter’s book Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America that show how single motherhood is the cause of more crime than any other factor:

“Of all single mothers in America, only 6.5 percent of them are widows, 37.8 percent are divorced, and 41.3 percent gave birth out of wedlock. The 6.5 percent of single mothers whose husbands have died shouldn’t be called ‘single mothers’ at all. We already have a word for them: ‘widows.’ Their children do just fine compared with the children of married parents.” — P.35

“Here is the lottery ticket that single mothers are handing their innocent children by choosing to raise them without fathers: Controlling for socioeconomic status, race, and place of residence, the strongest predictor of whether a person will end up in prison is that he was raised by a single parent. By 1996, 70 percent of inmates in state juvenile detention centers serving long-term sentences were raised by single mothers. Seventy-two percent of juvenile murderers and 60 percent of rapists come from single-mother homes. Seventy percent of teenage births, dropouts, suicides, runaways, juvenile delinquents, and child murderers involve children raised by single mothers. Girls raised without fathers are more sexually promiscuous and more likely to end up divorced. A 1990 study by the Progressive Policy Institute showed that after controlling for single motherhood, the difference between black and white crime rates disappeared.

Various studies have come up with slightly different numbers, but all the figures are grim. According to the Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, children from single-parent families account for 63 percent of all youth suicides, 70 percent of all teenage pregnancies, 71 percent of all adolescent chemical/substance abuse, 80 percent of all prison inmates, and 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children.

A study cited in the Village Voice produced similar numbers. It found that children brought up in single-mother homes ‘are five times more likely to commit suicide, nine times more likely to drop out of high school, 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances, 14 times more likely to commit rape (for the boys), 20 times more likely to end up in prison, and 32 times more likely to run away from home.’ Single motherhood is like a farm team for future criminals and social outcasts.

….Many of these studies, for example, are from the 1990s, when the percentage of teenagers raised by single parents was lower than it is today. In 1990, 28 percent of children under eighteen were being raised in one-parent homes (mother or father), and 71 percent were being raised in two-parent homes. By 2005, more than one-third of all babies born in the United States were illegitimate. That’s a lot of social problems coming.

…Imagine an America with 70 percent fewer juvenile delinquents, 70 percent fewer teenage births, 63 to 70 percent fewer teenage suicides, and 70 percent to 90 percent fewer runaways and you will appreciate what the sainted single mothers have accomplished.” — P.37-38

“But Americans used to be able to care about the circumstances of their children’s births: The illegitimacy rate has gone up by more than 300 percent since 1970. Moreover, even assuming that, sometime around the year of 1969, the entire human race lost the ability to defer gratification, there’s still the wholly volitional decision not to give the baby up for adoption.

In 1979, only about 600,000 babies were born out of wedlock and one quarter of them were put up for adoption. By 1991, the number of illegitimate births had doubled to 1,225,000 annually, but only 4 percent were allowed to be adopted — and most of those babies were snapped up by either Angelina Jolie or Mia Farrow. By 2003, 1.5 million illegitimate babies were born every year, but only about 14,000 of them, less than 1 percent, were put for adoption. Not surprisingly, unwed mothers who care enough to give their children up for adoption also come overwhelmingly from responsible backgrounds. They tend to have higher education and income levels and to come from intact upper-middle-class families with highly educated parents.

You will note that we do not read about adopted children filling up the prisons, welfare rolls, and runaway shelters. Adopted children are no worse off — and, indeed, are generally better off — than nonadopted children.” — P.43

“A 2008 study led by Georgia State University economist Benjamin Scafidi found that single mothers — unwed or divorced — cost the US taxpayer $112 billion every year.” — P.51

“According to the US Justice Department crime statistics, domestic abuse is virtually nonexistent for married women living with their husbands. From 1993 to 2005, the number of married women victimized by their husbands ranged from 0.9 to 3.2 per 1000. Domestic violence was about 40 times more likely among divorced or separated women, ranging from 37.7 to 118.5 per 1000. Even never married women were more than twice as likely to be victims of domestic violence as married women.” — P.57-58

“A Cornell study found that unwed mothers are 30 percent less likely to marry than other single women…” — P.70

Ann Coulter Sums Up Why Homosexual Marriage Totally Misses the Point

January 22, 09

From interview with TheHill.com:

Thoughts on same-sex marriage?

I’m against it. Liberals do not understand the point of marriage. The point of marriage is not for society to understand the strong feelings people have for one another. It is to raise children. It’s to harness men’s natural promiscuity and to direct it toward one woman and one set of children.

Good point that clarifies the stand I should take. Marriage for children, civil union for otherwise.

Ann Coulter Researches the Pro-Democrat Poll Bias Through 8 Presidential Elections

October 22, 08

Think Barack Obama has McCain beat, based on the polling data which all say that Obama is leading by several points?

If so, you obviously must not know about the blatant and massive, documented pro-Obama and anti-Palin bias in the US media.

But besides that, history has proven that polls consistently favour the Democrat Presidential candidate, overstating support for the Democrats by wide margins of error.

The following is summarized from Ann Coulter’s article:

Reviewing the polls printed in The New York Times and The Washington Post in the last month of every presidential election since 1976, I found the polls were never wrong in a friendly way to Republicans. When the polls were wrong, which was often, they overestimated support for the Democrat, usually by about 6 to 10 points.

1976
Jimmy Carter (D) vs Gerald Ford (R)
Poll predictions: Carter +15 over Ford
Election results: Carter +2.1 over Ford
Bias error: 12.9 points in favour of Democrats

1980
Jimmy Carter (D) vs Ronald Reagan (R)
Poll predictions: Carter +3 over Reagan
Election results: Reagan +10 over Carter
Bias error: 13 points in favour of Democrats

1984
Walter Mondale (D) vs Ronald Reagan (R)
Poll predictions: Reagan +4, +9 or +13 over Mondale
Election results: Reagan +18.8 over Mondale
Bias error: 14.8, 9.8 or 5.8 points in favour of Democrats

1988
Michael Dukakis (D) vs George H.W. Bush (R)
Poll predictions: Bush +5 over Dukakis
Election results: Bush +7.8 over Dukakis
Bias error: 2.8 points in favour of Democrats

1992
Bill Clinton (D) vs George H.W. Bush (R)
Poll predictions: Clinton +15 or +12 over Bush
Election results: Clinton +5.3 over Bush
Bias error: 9.7 or 6.7 points in favour of Democrats

1996
Bill Clinton (D) vs Bob Dole (R)
Poll predictions: Clinton +22 over Dole
Election results: Clinton +9 over Dole
Bias error: 13 points in favour of Democrats

2000
Al Gore (D) vs George W. Bush (R)
Poll predictions: Gore +6 over Bush
Election results: Bush over Gore by a slight margin
Bias error: 6 points in favour of Democrats

2004
John Kerry (D) vs George W. Bush (R)
Poll predictions: Bush +1 to +3 over Kerry
Election results: Bush +2.4 over Kerry
Bias error: 1.4 points in favour of Democrats to 1.6 points in favour of Republicans

2008
Barack Hussein Obama (D) vs John McCain (R)
Poll predictions: Obama over McCain, insert own imaginary number
Election results: Less than two weeks to go
Bias error: As always, in favour of Democrats

I guess the above history lesson might explain the cause behind Voxdays’ Five Point RuleIn general, if a Democrat leads by less than five points in the polls, he loses.

The Politico confirms it:

Respected polling analyst Mark Blumenthal found that during the Democratic primaries this year, preliminary exit polls overestimated Obama’s strength in 18 of 20 states, by an average error of 7 percentage points, based on leaked early results.

And while we’re on that note, take a look at some of the more objective (read: Non-Obama-leg-tingling) polls.

Such as this one where Obama has but ameasly 2.8-point lead over McCain.

UPDATE 2012: Okay, so Obama won in 2008.

UPDATE: The media does this on purpose, to discourage voters from even voting. See also via AoSHQ this piece on How Carter Beat Reagan (not a typo!).

And the Obama campaign might try this for 2012.

Here might be what’s happenng too – editors fudge results, the Shy Tory Factor, and a version of The Bradley Effect.

Why Do Liberal Men Hate Attractive Conservative Women?

September 16, 08

The reasons may be threefold that fit together into one overarching explanation.

Snark warning!

1) Well known Conservative gals are often attractive. As opposed to well known Liberal gals:

Liberal vs Conservative Women

Above from Moonbattery.

And a bigger alternate version:

Liberal vs Conservative Women

Above also from Moonbattery.

And more from Bruce Jacobs via Moonbattery:

Liberal vs Conservative Women

Liberal vs Conservative Women

And yet another:

Liberal vs Conservative Women

Liberal vs Conservative Women

And you can add Sarah Palin for the conservatives to that line-up:

Sarah Palin

Another:

Republican vs Democrat Women

As well as the always-frowning, ever-scowling, un-proud of ‘mean’ America, Michelle Obama for the libs:

Michelle Obama Scowl As Usual

Yeah, I’m a sexist male chauvanist pig. Just ask Obama.

2) Many of the attractive liberal women are lesbians, actually men in drag, or so strongly and militantly feminist that they consider men a lesser species of animal life.

3) Conservative women with actual notions of honour, self-respect and decency would never sleep with Liberal men.

To summarize the above: Liberal men rail with impotent and sexually frustrated rage at the Conservative values of Conservative women.

Hence the constant rage directed at Conservative women, as witnessed by the more than 50 examples of rabid anti-Palin smears in the Liberal media.

Note: When Conservative women are outspoken like Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin, they are denounced as unfeminine and shrill. Yet when Conservative women are quietly dignified like First Lady Laura Bush, they are derided as useless, docile, limp and dull.

Therefore, it can be concluded that Liberals hate Conservative women simply because of their Conservatism, rather than any valid objection to their public behaviour.

Besides not sleeping around with Liberals, of course.

What do they think women are, anyway… Obamaphilic sluts?

PS. Lol! See also this:

Look, she’s a great dame. People are fascinated by her because the Left hate her. I think the Left hate her; mostly women on the Left hate her, because to me from outside in it appears that she has a great sex life. Alright? I think she has hot erotic sex with that Todd Palin guy. I think most of the women on the Upper East Side their husbands haven’t been aroused since… the early 70’s. So they hate her.

Ann Coulter’s Dad – The Kind of Husband I Hope to Be

January 11, 08

This post is dedicated to my own Anne, because I thought of what our future lifetime together wouldbe like as I read the article.

Ann Coulter‘s father, John Vincent Coulter passed away recently, and her online column this week is dedicated to him.

Among from his retro/traditional/old fashioned manly traits she describes, the following excerpt what I would most like to emulate in my own marriage…

——————————–

Excerpt from article by Ann Coulter:

To Mother’s lifelong consternation — until he had dementia and she could get him back by smothering him with hugs and kisses — Father wasn’t demonstrative. But all he wanted was to be with Mother (and to work on his Volkswagens).

They traveled the world together, went to DAR conventions together, engaged in Republican politics together and went to the New York Philharmonic together — for three decades, their subscription seats were on the highest landing, or as we Scots call it, the “Music Lovers” level.

When Mother was in a rehabilitative facility briefly after surgery a few years ago and Father was not supposed to be driving, we were relieved that a snowstorm had knocked out the power to the garage door opener, so Daddy couldn’t get to the car. It would just be a week and then Mother would be home.

My brother came home to check on Father the first day of this arrangement to find that he had taken an ax to the side door of the garage, so he could drive to the rehab center and sit with Mother all day.

When she left him for five days last summer to go to a family reunion in Kentucky, at some point, Father, who hadn’t been able to speak much anymore, looked up and asked his nurse, “Where is she?”

And last Friday morning at 2 he passed away, in his bedroom with Mother. The police and firemen told my brother that they kept trying to distract Mother to keep her away from the bedroom with Father’s body, but she kept padding back into the bedroom to be close to him.

Now Daddy is with Joe McCarthy and Ronald Reagan. I hope they stop laughing about the Reds long enough to talk to God about smiting some liberals for me.

—————————

PS. If you want to know why I support Conservative Republicans, even Ann Coulter and her often harsh remarks, just see how liberals dishonour a dead man they never even knew to get in a few cheap stabs and self-congratulatory laughs.

I’d like to see what these libs will stutter when they briefly meet John Vincent Coulter face to face in the next life.
