An Inconvenient Truth 2: Suggested Film Titles

Michael Moore – THIEFO

May 5, 08

Pop over to film maker Michael Moore’s website and what do you see right at the top:

MichaelMooreThief1

Hmm, kinda familiar that right corner…

MichaelMooreThief2

Where could I have seen that image of a a soldier cradling a dead girl before? Oh yes:

MomentofTruthIraqAd

It’s Michael Yon’s iconic photograph, showing a Marine heroically rushing to the army medics an Iraqi girl who was wounded by terrorists. And not, say, an evil American heartless murderer enjoying the death of innocents as Michael ‘I AM the Sicko’ Moore is trying to imply.

Hat tip to The Jawa Report for this public service announcement.

Michelle Malkin is publicizing it.

Michael Yon himself has sicced his lawyer on Moore for using his pic ‘like pronography’:

When someone’s grandmother disseminates the photo of Major Beiger cradling a dying girl in his arms, I allow the usage because I feel she is trying to share the human tragedy. When Michael Moore puts that same photo on his web site, alongside images of George Bush, John McCain and Hillary Clinton, the clear implication is that Farah’s death is their fault. That is a misrepresentation of the facts on the ground, as well as the story of the photo.

Farah was killed by a suicide car bomb in Mosul on May 2, 2005. Major Bieger and other soldiers literally risked their own lives to save many children and adults that day, but Farah didn’t make it. Michael Moore apparently does not understand – or refuses to acknowledge – the moral distinction between a man who would murder innocent people, and a man who would sacrifice himself to save them.

The photo, as I took it, is the truth, but Moore uses it – illegally – to convey falsehoods. His mind is that of a political propagandist who sees Farah’s death not as a human tragedy, but a tool.

Above from Day by Day

For the record, Michael Moore is so biased towards the left wing, he actually spins around 360 degrees and goes on another 90 degrees to point back to the hard left.

Some Moore debunking links:

Michael Moore confirmed to be punk’d by the Cuban government in filming Sicko, which shows a Communist healthcare paradise – the reality is as follows:

CubanHospitalShittedFloor

Michael Moore outright ignores inconvenient facts that don’t gel with his thesis in Fahrenheit 9/11; plenty of dishonest reporting ensues:

In Johor Bahru, Phone Service Provider Switches From Malaysian to Singaporean When It Rains

May 5, 08

It has not rained for the past week plus in Johor Bahru. One morning, it was all endless layer of dark clouds and the rising sun low enough to illuminate the land under it, like some Apoaclyptic scence out of a Hell Is Coming To Earth movie.

But I predict that it will rain today. This is because my phone just switched service provider to a Singapore one and then back to Maxis again.

Without fail, when there’s heavy rain over Johor Bahru, even as far north as Taman Pelangi, my phone will switch service provider to a Singapore line, usually SingTel. When the rain clears up a bit, it will return to my Maxis. Both switches come with accompanying sms notifiers, as many as four per switch.

Almost every time, the sms informing me of the switch to SingTel will be followed by an sms from Maxis informing me that I can use my Maxis line or top up my Maxis account in Singapore.

So basically, my phone is led to believe it is in Singapore.

Theory: Thick rain clouds and electrical activity cause the Maxis line to be blocked, and the phone searches for and finds the SingTel line which is amplified or bounced off the clouds so that it is stronger than the Maxis line.

Not a major issue, as the switch typically lasts a few minutes… But I forgot and smsed once before, which cost me several times the usual fee.

And this switch did not happen on that Doomsday Scene morning. But it just happened this morning.

So without looking outside at the sky, I predict that it’s finally gonna rain in Johor Bahru today.

UPDATE: Prediction proven true at 2.53pm.

Defending My ACLU Post

May 5, 08

This post is a response to allegations made in this blog about my post, American Civil Liberties Union Religious Bias.

In order that this doesn’t evolve into a post-flame war, I’m keeping it civil and strictly defensive.

—————-

I recently came across a blog entry that claims the ACLU hates Christians and loves Muslims, of course written by the type of fundamentalist Christian who thinks Harry Potter will lead children to getting involved with magic and demons. It’s mainly just a list references to articles and other blog entries that agree with his position.

Guilty as charged for the first one, but a bit inaccurate on the second, and yes – it’s a compilation of whatever anti-Christian bias I came across.

Although I really am a fundie nutter who believes stuff like magic and demons are real (and according to my post, are intricately and inseparably linked), I do not assert that reading or watching Harry Potter will lead to those things.

Indeed, I myself watched the films and have yet to YOU WILL DIE IN THE FLAMES OF MY WARLOCK MAGIC INSOLENT MORTAL!!! do anything as silly as seek out Hollywood-style fake magic.

What I said was that I believe that some Christian parents believe that Harry Potter is a one-way street down Demon Withcraft Avenue. IMHO, the very low-budget special effects available to real world, low-key magic will turn off 99% of magic seekers.

On whether I’m a nutcase for believing that magic and demons are really real… Hey, I believe in an all-powerful being who existed before time and space but loves humans peeps so much He sacrificed His own Son on a piece of wood with nails but the Son came back to life and now I should live like a saint. Magic and demons is SO beginner level dementia.

The first reference I looked at mentioned a federal lawsuit against a school district that was interesting enough to look into. But I soon became more interested in tracking down the ridiculous chain of references that never really lead to a reliable original source.

Whoops, you got me there. This inclusion was back years ago when I didn’t care much for checking my sources. Thanks for the heads up.

To my credit, some of the other cases have more solid references, such as this one which is correlated by Snopes research or this one from the San Diego Tribune.

Though not all of them strictly involve the ACLU, one has to ask: Where are they every time Muslim religious studies or rituals are introduced to public institutions? Or are the just way too many Christian acts of Constitutional subversion that are draining the ACLU’s resources?

—————————————-

With my post about the ACLU, actually all I ask is that anti-religious discrimination be fairly applied to all belief systems.

If the ACLU wants to ban Judeo-Christianity from public sight, at the very least be similarly strict with Islam or Scientology. And if possible, include the unproveable faith of Atheism as well.

Or if the ACLU wants to give preferential treatment to Islam out of multicultrual tolerance, then it should be as permissive of Judeo-Christianity which just happens to have been founded in the same exotic region of foreign land.
